Customers recognize the Gryphon AX Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi Router's excellent parental controls and fast Wi-Fi speeds, with many also praising its ease of setup and strong security features. However, some users experienced difficulties during the initial setup process, and a few noted the limited number of Ethernet ports as a drawback. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the reported minor setup issues and port limitations.

Gryphon is a must for most parents

This has been a game changer with children eleven and fourteen years old. We had the hardest time enforcing internet hours and location. I went searching for such a device without knowing one actually existed...then I found Gryphon.

Exhausting and Complicated

This is most certainly not plug and play (unless maybe you do networking for a living). I had to call support twice before the router would even work and automatic updates crippled it two more times. It was grueling detective work to figure out which devices belonged to which MAC addresses and even then my children's devices only worked intermittently. The router interfered with nearly every device for which we tried to use parental controls and it ended up just being a less robust router than our older mesh router; with unusable parent controls due to how exhausting the setup was for each device. Ended up disconnecting it and going back to our old router. This might be usable if you are starting from scratch, but I wouldn't try to 'upgrade' to it from an existing home network...unless you have an entire weekend to spend setting it up and troubleshooting.
