Great Movie but Bad Supply of Stock for 3D Version

The movie is great. Only negative review I have is toward BestBuy and Disney Studios for not allowing more Stock of the 3D version in USA. That is why I am giving it 3 Stars here for the Product Rating. To make the 3D it a Limited Quantity and exclusively sold at one retailer was a major mistake. It just means that they would sell less copies. That is bad for business. So many people in the U.S. missed out on getting this movie because the 3D version sold out do to so few copies being released here. So many stores only had a handful of copies. Some as few as two (2) copies. Unbelievable and Unacceptable. What we have now is a major Price Gouger issue where you see a few copies online going for as much three times more than retail cost; or people buying a Import for a higher cost than the Steel Book Combo Pack that came out here. Some are even just pulling the 3D copies out and selling them for over retail price of the combo pack. I have even seen some selling just the Digital Copy or keeping that that for themselves and selling the rest. It is amazing what limited in quantity product will do to the market for it. For those that buy the Imports they are not getting a Digital Copy and nor a 4K copy in most cases. Its just the 3d copy and regular Bluray in a regular case. Anyways... The movie itself is amazing. That is just my opinion from seeing it a few times in the theater. I have yet to get the movie as, like so many in the 3D community, I won't buy it unless its a 3D Version. Plus I also refuse to support Gougers nor do I wish to Import it. I am holding out until they release more here in USA. At some point they have to. At least one would think.

    Guardians Of The What?

The most astonishing thing about this movie to me is how fast I forgot the entire experience. I kinda remember that cool opening scene with Groot - but after that? Guardians of the Galaxy 2 moves from one action scene to the next with a bunch of random banter about an extended family... which is completely contradicted in the final 15 minutes. I also remember a bunch of absurd happenings during the action scenes. Improbable results, luck, weird environments that do not follow any known physics and characters screaming at one another over the ambient sound. To paraphrase someones wisdom - the script wasn't the result of time, hard work, skill and craftsmanship. Things happen on the screen because the screen writers say so. This is what many superhero films have become: glorified CG cartoons that feel like really long TV episodes. Ironic too - in an age of great TV writing, many blockbuster movies have been reduced to mass world wide appeal instead of any unique writer/director vision.

I was very surprised with the first Guardians (as I think most people were). Taking a D-Level team and making them likeable, funny and throw in some nice action. However, right off the bat this movie feels a rehash in every scene it feels. And, in the vein of the Star Wars prequels, it feels as if all Marvel movies require 95% of the film to be CG. With this film, I can see some exception as it takes place in space and most of the people/environments are not of this world so it would be difficult to find a suitable substitute. However, there could have been a bit more of an effort to put more "humanity" in the film. Anyway, repeated jokes (baby Groot...) and the onslaught of puns put in every line was painful at times. The music was good, but let's be honest, I don't think they'll be recreate the surprisingly fun intro of Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love" ever again.

I thought I would really love this movie because I did love the first one. I think that they were trying to change it up by pairing different characters together to explore different relationships instead of giving us more of the same ones they did in the first one, but I just really wanted more Groot and Rocket. I loved that weird relationship and wanted more of that. Unfortunately, I think there just wasn't enough Baby Groot in Vol.2. Or Rocket either. I think I also liked the soundtrack better in the first movie. But this is still a fun movie. Just not as good as the first one.

The film itself is... fine. The character driven set up which motivates the plot with personal and emotional character traits helps to create an interesting set-up for a film, however, the film quickly devolves in to the same CGI schlock that plagues mostly every other Marvel release. Resulting in a bloated, uninteresting, visually sterile climax that removes any good will that the film had in it's set up. The steelbook itself is surprisingly embossed, and compliments the original domestic steelbook. The spine for the steelbooks, sadly, do not match one another.

I really enjoy ALMOST all of the Marvel movies but GoG Vol. 2 is my least favorite. Maybe because the first one was so great I expected too much? It does have it's moments but part of what made the first one so good was the oldies soundtracks thru out the movie. In GoG V2 there are still some great songs but it feels forced and unnecessary for many of them. I went ahead and purchased this Blu-ray for my collection ONLY because I got such a great deal for it on Black Friday, no way Ida paid full price or $20+ for it like when it first came out.

This is probably one of the most overrated movies I've ever seen, it doesn't mean it was bad however. 80% of the jokes seemed forced and a bit immature (There's a p**p joke for crying out loud) and about half of those jokes just made me roll my eyes. That's not good for an action comedy movie. But the visuals were great and the story was coherent so that prevents me from giving it 2 stars. The villain was average and the main character Star Lord was a solid role. It seems like a good movie for any preteen or young teenager or a bit younger.

Maybe I was expecting too much, but I had to watch this more than twice to get through the whole movie. I missed the first movie, so I was anxious to see Vol 2. Chris Pratt was ok in this movie but a little laid back. Zoe Saldana was pretty good, but she never really lived up to her role in Star Trek where she and Spock were a strange couple. Liked the raccoon but not some of the other characters. Will try and see the whole movie at one sitting to see if it will hold my attention any better.

    Sequel not equal to original

The original Guardians of the Galaxy film was so good that it is unsurprising that the sequel is not its equal. The characters are just as likeable as in the original, and the acting, special effects and music all are good. Where the film is somewhat lacking is in the story and dialogue (unlikeable villains tend to be more interesting than likeable ones; also, I don't remember Drax laughing constantly in the original film). All in all, it is still worth a recommendation!

I really enjoyed the first film, but I felt this one was over long. Could have done with a bit of editing. The theme of the movie is relationships. Between Father and Sons, Sisters, and Friends. It is not just The Avengers in Space and could have been great like the soundtrack which was fantastic. I will go and see Guardians of the Galaxy 3 based on the first 2. Finally great as always to have the digital version and the extras are great.

I thought part one was refreshing and different from other superhero movies. However, this one felt forced at everything that part one excelled at. I thought there was just too much music, visuals reminded me of transformers, and story-telling was just that story-telling. It also felt like they tried cramming in too many characters' and their back stories. Some good parts, action and filled in a few blanks but it was only ok.

It's a Kitchenaid, so it's automatically one of the better ones. However, the racks roll out in a way that makes them feel cheap and the overall feel of the machine is one that puts it into the class of "acceptable" dishwashers, instead of First Rate - like the Sapphire dishwasher ($1,249 at Best Buy). This one will do for what I need... but it's not what you'd put into a top-end kitchen.

I loved the first one and couldn't wait to see this one. Knowing that it had that same vibe feeling as the first, I was excited. However, while watching it, it just felt short for me. I feel like some of the jokes fell flat and they tried to push them with the Drax laugh. Regardless, still worth the watch. Love the characters, and can't wait for them to team up with the Avengers.

This sequel is not as good as the first entry in the franchise. Although, most sequels are not as good as the original, this one is still sort of fun to watch. The original cast returns and the plot is a little far fetched. Star Lord's dad is a planet??? Overall, this is the worst of the MARVEL of them all. Hopefully the third entry in the series will be better.

It was GOOD. I just think that it kinda tried to hard to be emotional. It too much. You (in one movie) don't need to air all the charters emotional baggage. One or two is plenty. You shouldn't base an action super hero movie around it, like they did. But it is part of mcu so you kinda are forced to watch it if you are following mcu storyline.

Maybe my expectations were too high for this Volume 2 movie cuz the first one was so good, but as much as enjoy the Marvel series, this is my least favorite, the classic rock songs felt forced, the characters weren't as good, the story line either but I ended up buying it any way when I saw it for $8 on Black Friday week!!! Couldn't pass it up for that price!

In general I'm starting to feel a little bit of fatigue with the Marvel flicks, and GotG 2 suffers a bit for that. Very much an on-rails bit of storytelling, the character moments still pull you in despite some boredom with the narrative. I won't be revisiting this one as often as the first, but it's worth at least one viewing if you liked the original.

I have not been able to visualize Chris Pratt as an action hero/lead since his part in Wanted as the dumb a.. friend. I watched the first Guardians because my friends loved it but I was not impressed then nor was I on this one. The characters are funny and I like Zoe in most movies so this is not a chore, just not one of my favorites.

If you liked the first one, you will like this one too. We find out who Peter's dad is. A bit far-fetched, but the series is too. The team is still as dysfunctional as ever, which can get annoying at times. This is a sequel to the first Guardians movie, but I don't see it fitting into the Marvel story line like the first one did.

It’s not bad. The type of movie that you can enjoy if you don’t nitpick. However, read the next paragraph if you do. Action sequences are great but there aren’t many. The cgi is spotty at times. I must say the music isn’t as good as GOTG1.
