HR Block has 4 tax programs, from simple taxes to complex tax situations. Choose which is right for your circumstance (Basic, Deluxe+ State, Premier, Premier+Business. Then just download to your computer. If you really need a CD, one is available for $9.99. However, my Deluxe program downloaded very easily. The program will automatically update and if you are concerned you can check the website and see exactly when any forms you might require will be available. Since I used this program last year it automatically inputs the data from the prior year. If you use another tax program you should be able to just drag and drop. I can’t attest to this. HR Block program walks you thru step by step to help you input the 2020 data. It can download information from my brokerage account which is a big help. But I do check each entry. There are 5 free e-filing options which simplifies things, and a real bargain, 5 taxes for the price of one. Also, you can be assured that the program will verify your entries and highlight any questionable data. The help center is very “helpful” if you have questions on a form, etc. Refund options include direct deposit, check, Emerald Card and if you select an Amazon gift card you get a bonus of 3.5%. Doing taxes is not the most favorite thing to do, but a daunting task is made less onerous by using the HF Block software.

This is the second year I have used H&R Block software to do my taxes. Once again it makes doing my taxes a breeze instead of a hassle. I am a single guy with a house and some hobby income, so my takes aren't too hard to begin with, but this program makes it very simple. You basically put in your personal information, then you put in your W2's and 1099s and all your income forms. Then it basically takes you through a series of questions. Really, all you have to do it just answer questions and before you know it, your taxes are done! IF you answer yes to certain questions then it takes you to another section where there are more questions and it figures out if there are any deductions warranted and things like that. There is even a little running tally on the left hand side that shows your refund and you can see exactly when it changes based on how you answer questions. Once you're all done, it goes through all your taxes and checks for errors and then gives you a checklist of things you need to fix or look at. Once you are done with that, it easily submits your taxes for you. Beware that they will charge you fees if you need to do your state taxes, or have forms that require a more advanced version of the program. I ended up paying about $60 more than the original program cost because I wanted them to also file my state taxes and I had a form that required a different version of the software. Overall, it was a great experience, and you don't have to wait for a CPA to do your taxes!!

H&R Block has really put together a simple and easy tax software. If you never filed your own taxes or get uneasy doing them yourself, this is for you. It walks you through step by step and offers help to get bigger refund. I was done and files in about 30 min. Stay safe and do your taxes at home. I love the software user interface. And online assistant if you get overwhelmed. This is A++++

2020’s tax season is a complex mess and I’m glad I had some good software to help me through it. Entering in my tax info was really easy and straight forward, even with the money I earned in some side work I did to help bring in some extra income in 2020. It was also great that the program was able to import both my last year's taxes and a few of my tax documents so I didn't have to type it all in myself. My only issue is that I don’t know what will happen in Washington over the next few weeks. My taxes are done and I’m happy with them but I do have a few kids so if Biden changes the laws for the children’s tax credits, I may not want to file until after its been passed. For right now I’m going to hold off on filing. But a great feature of this software is that if the laws do change, they will push out an update and I can get my return updated quickly with the new numbers without having to redo all my taxes. It should be updated quick an easily. Given all the questions regarding stimulus money and changing tax credits, this is a great year to use a software if you’ve been doing it by hand in the past. I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Product good but after purchase service is terrible. Do not purchase on line. If you make a mistake or if Best Buy makes a mistake it is virtually impossible to to get mistake corrected.

My wife insists on doing our taxes on several platforms before going with the one that offers the best tax rate. Yes, we owe most every year because we don't like giving the GVMT an interest free loan for 12 months... That said, so far this has come in not the worst, not the best but it's marginal. Easy to use, interface is good. We will see but so far, not bad.

I've always gone to my local H&R Block to get my taxes done by a tax professional. Now this year with the Pandemic going on, I try to go out as little as possible in order to remain safe. With this in mind, doing my own taxes made the most sense. This software is so affordable, and it's a company I trust completely. Overall it is very easy to install and use. It simplifies the whole process for you. Customer service is also always there to help if you need any. I had complete peace of mind that I was doing everything correctly when inputting my information. I highly recommend H&R Deluxe!

As a long-time user of H&R Block Tax Software, I have absolutely no complaints about its ease of use and filing taxes electronically. It is very simple to install and start using. Depending on your filing status, it may take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete the process from entering your name, family members' names, associated information, and submitting your forms electronically. Each step contains help tools to check your math if you have to do any on your own or answer any questions you may have about the blank spaces there to fill out. I recommend this each year to anyone who brings up filing with me and I do not plan on changing that after filing my taxes late last week.

I absolutely dreaded doing my taxes for 2020. Like a lot of people, I lost my job in 2020 due to Covid, and as a result had some crazy situations involving changing from a family to a self only HSA, a large severance payment, 401k loan repayments and withdrawals, and job search expenses. HR Block Deluxe gave me the confidence to handle all of these issues on my return. I have more work to do before I am able to file, but starting early and being able to work through each step with all of the information provided in the software has been a godsend. I like that HR Block makes it easy to import various things electronically - W2s, 1099s, and last year's taxes were all a cinch.

Hard to say the quality of the software other than it works as advertised. I used used 3 packages for taxes to check the accuracy and this and the two other major package all came up with the same numbers for me. I did find the interface very clean and easy to use. If you asked for help or explaining button they were clear and concise. Please note that I did not use this to file my taxes so can’t provide any feedback on that and also I have pretty standard tax items. Standard income and normal deductions that being said this did a pretty good job of going through all the option. Of the 3 I used I can’t say that I like this one best however that may be that one off them I’ve used for 10 years or so. All in all a good tax package that will get the job done.

Good, detailed software. Last year I used another online service I found to work quite well. It has a slightly more visually appealing interface than this one. So this year I ran both this HR Block software and the online competitor (Free) So again, I found some of the usability of the online version a little easier to understand and simplified. However, when I was completed, I found the H&R block software provided me better write offs and a better return. I ended up having to pay this year, and the H&R Deluxe software found me more write offs and saved me almost $500. I also did like the fact that I could stop and come back to pick up where I was at without having to log back in. I would recommend you purchase the Federal / State combo offering up front when you purchase this software as you will end up paying more if you add State later. The software allows you to scan in documents like your W2 as well. Be careful to double check the numbers as I found a couple small corrections. But this feature really saves you some keystrokes. I look forward to being able to import all my tax information from 2020 to 2021 next year. Should save me even more time. Bottom line is I did pay for this software, but it saved me much more in taxes, so well worth it. Suggestion - I would like to see an ability to see what form you are on related to the question or topic your are currently in. Maybe side by side view. Sometimes I lose track of the write off. I.e. – are they asking me the auto expense for my main job or my part time business etc. I look forward to improvements and ease of use next year.

I switched to H&R Block back in 2013 and have never looked elsewhere! Like all the previous years, this software makes it easy to do my taxes and helps me do it right. Unfortunately, I usually have to pay, but using this helps me get my taxes every year without a problem. I always recommend H&R Block to my family and friends because it just works!

We have used this software for 4 years now. Very simple to understand and walks you through the process step by step. We have a home, 2 incomes, retirement accounts and other various deductibles and the process is still easy. I would certainly recommend it.

I have been using this software for the past few years, and it continues to be my go-to to get things done quickly. Very intuitive, easy directions and a straightforward simple interface. I dread the thought of doing taxes each year, but at least this simplifies the process a bit. So far, I am ¾ the way through completion as of writing this, and it helps that I can leave and pick-up where I left off with no hassle. Definitely worth the investment each year.

I have been preparing my own taxes for a number of years now. Traditionally, I went the free tax filing route. I recently got the opportunity to use and test the H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe 2020. As we all know, H&R Block has been in the tax service business for a long time, so I expected for their software to be pretty complete, and I also expected it to be user friendly. As with most software in the market, the initial installation to your computer is pretty standard. When you first access the system, you are asked a number of questions that allows the software to be tailored to your needs. The software is very thorough and pretty much guides you through the process. For someone with tax preparation experience, the software would be easy to use, but if you will preparing your taxes for the very first time on your own, you might have some difficulties using the software. I compared the H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe 2020 to the previous program that I have used in the past and I found that some of the terminology used in the H&R software was a bit different. I can see this being a bit challenging, but doable, for first-time users. I must add that the software's "help" section is very useful. Although it might be challenging at first, you might find yourself asking a few questions and digging through the help section quite often. Overall, I would recommend the H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe 2020 software if you have at least some experience in tax preparation. If you don't, you can still get your taxes done, but expect to have some questions and do a little searching through their useful help section.
