Purchased this software and there was an error during install and state had to be uninstalled. H&R block website said to uninstall software and reinstall. Pretty easy process till I get to the program and I was promoted to now pay an extra $39.95 for state, I tried to call H&R block and after 31 minutes I couldn't take the terrible quality elevator music and constant random tax tips and had to hang up.

I have used H&R Block many years. I have also used competitive products, but I keep coming back to H&R. I can usually find discounts making it cost equivalent or less than other top tier products. I also like the interface and how data is input better than other products. I fine it easier to use. Any top tier product will ask the right questions to find deductions or sources of income you might miss but I believe H&R does this well. I would rate it higher but you still have to pay extra for state efile. The download process and activation key discovery process is not as easy as it should be (Best Buy interface, not an H&R thing). Everything is there but it is a bit cumbersome. It isn't bad, just not as easy as it could be.

This product walks thru tax preparation with ease. It is user friendly, and the tax situations well. Is also little bit cheaper than the competition.

Purchased this Tax Software as part of a Deal of The Day Promotion as a digital download. This software made the task of doing my taxes very easy. Highly recommend.

H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe + State 2020 [Digital] worked well.

I've used this tax software exclusively for about fifteen years so I can not compare it to other tax software. It's easy to use - just follow the interview. I especially like that I can import information and don't have to manually enter numbers. My one complaint is that to electronically file state taxes, H & R Block charges $19.95!! Thanks for 5 free federal files, but $19.95 is outrageous.

I've used this software for many years and it is outstanding. H&R Block does a great job of updating the software during tax season to guarantee that it will always be 100% correct. The program is easy to follow and their explanations/instructions for specific tax issues are excellent. I would recommend this product to anyone doing their own taxes at home.

Software was easy to download from Best Buy. The software is easy to follow, inputs data from previous year's taxes, and comes with State tax forms as well. It provides updates to software from H&R Block through the tax season to ensure its up to date. Save me a lot of time. Got it on sale too!

I've been using the H&R Block tax software for years. It's easy to use and easy to file. I can also easily import data from the previous year's file and my Microsoft Money tax software report. I am very pleased with it and do recommend it.

Makes it easy to do your own taxes and looks for any updates every time you open the program. It does the state taxes at the same time. It includes 5 Federal e-files for free with the software but state e-file is not included.

The tax software Deluxe version has all the forms I needed to file the tax return with easy to follow instructions. The free Fed e-filing makes it more helpful. The State version only allows one state which is enough for now.

My review is based off of the fact I have used H&R Block for the past 4 years. Since I used the software last year, it was able to upload last year's W2s and all the 1099s I had (including INT, DIV, R and B). I really only had to confirm the info and enter in the new amounts. It also remembered my property tax info, my mortgage info and my charitable contributions from last year as well. The software guides you through the new updates from 2020 (including receiving any eligible stimulus you should have received). It allows you to file 5 federal tax returns. It does help compute what your state tax return will be. But, it will charge you an extra fee if you want to electronic file your state tax return.

This program is easy to use, cheaper than the bigger one, and you get in person support if you need it. It's also easier and more complete than the cheaper alternatives.

Does exactly what it says it will do. Guides you step by step through each type of credit and deduction. Been using the software for the past 10 years and have never had an issue.

Very easily ask all questions to steer you through doing your own taxes. Saved me money instead of using a tax person to do my taxes for me

Good, not great. I needed to google a few things to get through it, but it all worked out. I did get the largest return I've had in years with it. Not sure if this software is the reason for that, but I'll blame it for that haha! The UI is a tad dated, especially the main screen, but it got the job done for very little money. Free for the Fed, like $20 for the State. If they updated it and made it a little more user friendly, like not all the verbiage being exactly the same in all the menus, even though they were asking for the same information, this would be really good. I still plan on using again next year.

This is my second year in a row using H&R Block's desktop software. I am a repeat customer due to the ease of use, accuracy-checking tools and availability of help. I was able to easily import previous years' returns using the data files from last year's software, which is a major selling point for staying in the H&R Block ecosystem. I was also able to successfully import a tax return from a PDF document, so if this is your first time using the software you should be able to save yourself some time with this import method. The H&R Block interface is pretty clean and simple and operates in a step-by-step method, asking you questions about the past year to not only figure out what information you need to input, but also what deductions and/or credits you may qualify for. Even though I was sure the standard deduction would be the the way for me to go, I followed the steps in the software to check whether itemizing would be better. I was right that the standard deduction was greater, but I appreciated the software walking me through the process and clearly explaining the choices it made. H&R Block provides plenty of tips, prompts and help along the way, reducing confusion and helping you make choices when you might not be sure which box to check. A running tally of your expected refund or tax liability lives in the top left corner, with changes to the bill/refund tracked as you complete steps and answer questions. The software gives you multiple opportunities to review all your information and check for accuracy; it also performs its own automated review process, turning up any errors/potential issues and giving you an idea of the risk you might be audited based on the information you enter. My taxes are relatively simple, and the entire process took me about an hour start-to-finish. I was able to e-file immediately upon completion and can check the status of my return directly in the software (you will also receive email updates when you submit your e-file, when the IRS accepts it, etc.). H&R Block reduces the complexity of federal and state tax returns to a step-by-step process, along with explanations in plain English and plenty of help along the way, should you need it. A recommended purchase for anyone wishing to do their taxes themselves but with the power of an industry standard behind them.

Use this software every year and it hasn't let me down yet. Easy to download and update and gives you free federal e-filing. Solid choice for your taxes.

Easy to use, works great, good technical support. Excellent value. I I have been a customer of this tax software for years.

I've been using H&R Block for years. Very intuitive and easy to follow. You just need to sort your tax documents by income and deductions and then follow the screen flow. If you used H&R from previous years you can download all of your personal info from last years tax return. You can also import info from programs like Deduction Pro. If you need to submit a state tax return all of your info is transferred from your federal return into the state program as well.
