Cheaper than a CPA!

It comes with 5 free Federal e-files. You can also prepare your State return, but the e-files cost extra. If you don't e-file State just print it and mail it. What could be easier than that? It also has audit protection from H&R Block.

Easy Peasy

After your initial entry, your following year can be prefilled in from the prior year so all you have to do is enter you 1099s and other forms. don't question it, just get it. You will be very satisfied

I have used this software for a couple of years now and find it reliable. But there are always some things I find a little confusing and have to look up.

I was done the evening of the morning I downloaded the software from Best Buy. It would have taken much longer if we had itemized our deductions, which I know from past years can be cumbersome if a lot of charities are involved. I will not give 5 stars, though, to software that requires you to download a separate program to save your returns as PDFs.

It takes you step-by-step and clearly explains everything. There are helpful tips accessible at any time. If you need to pause, t's easy to stop and come back to exactly where you left off. The program has looked the same for 10 years now but that's a good thing. It's a clean look that's easy to navigate. And uploading the previous year's tax return is seamless. Highly recommended

Getting too expensive

I keep my previous year's return on my computer and the software automatically inputs the data for me. This year however, if I hadn't found it at Best Buy for a good price, I would have taken it somewhere. If Best Buy had not offered it at this decent price, I could have paid someone to do it for me for the prices being shown online.

I buy the Deluxe + State because it covers all I need for my taxes. It has a free e-filing for both, Federal and State. It's easy to use (Interview style) and it has a lot of instant links to many questions. It seems like only the download versions are available nowadays, but it installs flawlessly. I told my coworker about H&R Block about 10 years ago and he loves it and uses it every year.
