Excellent design and easy to clean. The fresh grounds basket for brewing a cup of coffee is easy to handle, clean, and remove from the coffee maker. The pod holder is also easy to handle, clean, and remove from the maker. All the baskets are dishwasher safe on the top rack. Remove the pod and fresh ground basket and that area of the coffee maker is smooth and very easy to clean, no tiny nooks and cranny's like the Keurig's have! Makes a good cup of coffee. A little slow but the well thought out design makes up for that. An excellent buy!!!

Works great, love the versatility, one day I can have ground coffee another day a k pod, great price over the Keurig, only downside is that it is a little loud when started, but it’s something I can deal with for the price. :)

Really like the single serving Hamiltin coffee maker, especially with the water reserve, reason for the 4 stars is it take like 3minutes=slow till brews n fills your coffee mug, although for me it took some patience to wait, but still like it, my 2 daughters got for me when was on sale, Best Buy delivery is efficient

After my Keurig died, I bought this as a replacement. The coffee is good and hot. I always use the Bold Brew option because I like my coffee strong. I appreciate the optional cup to use my own coffee grounds, and it works well.
My only complaint is that it does take longer than the Keurig, but I recognize that is primarily because it draws fresh water from the reservoir each time rather than holding water hot constantly inside the machine. That is possibly more hygienic and less energy, but it does mean that I walk away while it's working or that couple of minutes seems long.

I’m very happy with this coffee maker. It’s considerably cheaper than a Keurig. It’s takes some adjusting to get the cup of coffee you’re looking for, but we’ll worth it

The best aspect of this machine is that you can easily remove the basket that holds the K-cup in order to clean it. We bought this to replace a Keurig that required running reservoir after reservoir of plain water to keep the needle from clogging. (Our teenager likes fancy coffees and the Keurig lasted less than six months after she started getting fancy K-cups.) You can pull this machine’s basket and run in under warm water without a hassle. Love it!

Over all a good little machine. A little loud when brewing. If you run out of water while making a cup, you need to unplug machine and start over or you could get an overflow.

I am using it with my own ground coffee. It is slower and noisier than my old Keurig but works just as well. It has a "bold" button which makes a stronger cup, so I use less coffee. For the money, it is an excellent value. It is also easier to switch out the K-Cup and brew your own Pod holder.

I have bought and used several of this type of coffee maker. I found this to be the only one that made decent coffee. I use pods and make one 8oz and one 10oz per serving. I use the extra strong setting on both and the coffee comes out perfect for my taste.

Not even a full month later, and I'm having issues where it does not dispense a full Cup of Coffee, when set for a Full Cup of Coffee. This has to be. I had a similar issue with the Duo Flex Brew, as well, when trying to make a Single Serve Cup.
Yeah, when I first got both, they both dispensed a Full Cup, but for some reason, later they both decided not to dispense the full amount of water, and with the Duo Flex Brew, you had to fill as needed for use.

Makes a good cup of coffee except in Bold Brew mode. Top cover of K pod partially breaks away from from the pod and spews coffee grinds all over. Another negative is that it takes about 2 mins to brew a cup of coffee which I did not have a problem with. Returning today.

Your feedback is very important to us. We regret to hear that you are not experiencing optimal results while using your Hamilton Beach Single Serve FlexBrew Coffee Maker. The water you use to brew your coffee is a big factor for the quality of the coffee you brew and also K-Cup performance. If you are using softened water from a water softening system or just live in an area where your tap water is naturally soft, this can cause K-Cup issues. Soft water causes poor coffee extraction which leads to poor tasting coffee. And soft water causes the K-Cup filter to clog, extending the brew time, and increasing pressure in the K-Cup eventually leading to ruptured K-Cups and clogged needles in your brewing machine. So if you are using softened water, please try changing your water to bottled or spring drinking water. Consumer experience remains our top priority and if trying the noted step does not remedy your occurrence, please feel free to contact our customer service department.
