If you fill with coffee and clean you might as well brew a pot with mr coffee. The refill with water and coffee it’s quite a pain to do for more than one cup

I tried it for several days, trying to adjust the amount of grounds used, on the bold setting. The taste was horrible every which way and I'm having to rely on my old coffee maker.

Hamilton Beach Flexbrew Single serve

I recommend using the “Bold” button for both, even for hot chocolate pods. The only thing I miss is a clock on my coffee maker, which I used to have with the Flexbrew/carafe maker on my old Hamilton Beach.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this machine but you have to be a little mechanically inclined if you want to use the k-cup feature: you have to clean the needle every so often - every >25 k-cups or so, I can't be sure and less if you do a rinse-cycle in between. There is back flush into the needle and it will clog up, that is why cleaning instructions printed on the inside of the water lid. That is a little cumbersome - I don't mind it, but still, deducting half a star for it. Other than that I like it a lot and it is build well. On that note: I would bet that many/most people who say it "broke" or "k-cups never worked" really experienced the needle clogging and didn't understand they have to clean it every now and then. I initially thought so as well. But it turns out it didn't break, it just got clogged up!

The few first times I used it my coffee did have a bit of a plastic taste to it from the coffee filter holder, but that has gone away. Would recommend.
