The looks for the 6 are definitely better now that the handle is a darker color. Studio 5 looked like my wife's handbag. Anyway I have the 3 and 4 and this is a good improvement for several reasons. One, it's now waterproof and doesn't have any exposed radiator which is nice and the new purse handle makes it easier to carry around. Secondly, although it's not crazy better than the Studio 3 or 4 it is louder, handles bass better, sounds fuller, and doesn't get overwhelmed with complex tracks like the 3 and 4 can if you crank them up. I think it's due to the bigger single speaker and tweeter rather than smaller duals on the 3 and 4. At any rate it sounds great! Upgrade is with it to me as without the back radiator and now waterproof it's much more portable than the previous versions and get a slight sound improvement. If you catch it on sale you can't beat it for a portable speaker to use around the house.

It's honestly pretty good on the sale price, but I'd never buy it full price. Not having USB-C charging for one would be a deal breaker at $400+, but at $200 it's not as bad. The sound is great, with deep bass that doesn't bleed much into the other frequencies. It also gets incredibly loud without losing clarity. The battery life is also pretty good. Connection is also strong and fairly easy (except for one time where I couldn't pair it with my phone).

This is an amazing speaker. My friend brought his to the lake and I was wildly impressed of the size and sound-and even more so when I was told what they retail for-"that explains it"! When I decided to finally speaker-up my iPhone to hear streaming while riding a wind resistance trainer, I looked extensively at Bose as I have several Bose products and like them. The BT speakers from 'them' had some very concerning reviews associated with the battery and durability. For the money I didn't want to risk the same problem. I researched BT speakers for over a month and then I ran across this speaker in a Best Buy search and noticed a price that was incredibly discounted; I paused and decided to sleep on it-its still alot of money. The next day, Back to the MSRP. Disappointed is an understatement. So I went without....then I went back several weeks later (on the same day-Sunday) and saw the price back at the huge sale price; no hesitation this time I already thought about it, in remorse... This speaker sounds very full; the sound range is great. I am going to say any Bose owner will be highly impressed with this speaker. Its charge is stated @ 8 hrs, I can say its plenty. The app is not necessary but is said to provide some controls. It also comes with a ton of disappointing reviews so I never DL the app. This speaker paired seamlessly with an iPhone 6s and a Lenovo Laptop. The volume is great, could be a backyard speaker very easily for get togethers. Reflect the sound off a wall or cabinet and the sound fills in even better and carries much further (that works for any speaker-kinda back-woods Bose your speaker). I know I would be pleased even if i paid full MSRP but if you can find this on sale; its a no brainer. BEWARE of open box speakers being sold (elsewhere) @ unbelievable prices; they should come with full warranty (I've purchased open box for decades and they always come with some type of mfg. warranty; full or abbreviated). They will be no warranty if purchased from a Non-Authorized Harmon-Kardon dealer. Be Advised Accordingly; I unfortunately have experience with this.

After 6 years my smaller speaker could no longer keep a charge. Best Buy had a large selection of blue tooth speakers to select from. I chose HK for name and price. I believe the model is being upgraded and this model was discounted. I have used it on and off for a month or more with perfect reliability. I play my ipod through the speaker and love the sound. This speaker carries a deeper bass than my previous speaker. It is perfect for listening to music outside. The speaker does NOT have a battery meter but has played in excess of 8 hours straight. This speaker is bigger than i would travel with but built sturdy and has a comfortable built-in handle. I have not tested the waterproofing but when not plugged in, the port seals.

Great speaker. It fills the house with bass and crisp highs with no distortion when placed in the right spot. I purchased for nearly half price from a sale but even if I had paid full price I would be equally pleased, it's that impressive of a Bluetooth speaker. These can also be paired with each other which would be unreal. They adjust nicely with Amazon Music equalizer for optimum experience.

This a bass charged speaker, sound quality is superior, great design, a little bit heavier than other speaker but it compensates by delivering outstanding sound, buttons are easy to use, as loud as it can get, really impressive sound quality and amazing low, mid and high frequencies, color is elegant, quality built is great, you won't regret buying this speaker.

I'm a fan and loyalist of this product, started with Studio 3, then the 4 and now the 6. It's a great speaker for small crowds, outdoors where is loud enough to enjoy all tones some base and you can still talk over it. If you need more volume and base then you should go for a bigger speaker and also assume a bigger price.

Sounds great and easy to set up. Love the handle that they implemented compared to older models.

Absolutely the best sounding Bluetooth speaker. Great for outdoor gathering with deep base and clear sound. Battery lasts a few hours before recharge is needed. With this price you cannot go wrong with Harman Kardon products. Highly recommended.

If you prefer quality and subtlety then this is the speaker for you. Surprisingly light and heavy at the same time, well balenced weight and easy to handle. Very artistic deaign too!

I have wanted one of these since the Onyx 5 so when I saw the Onyx 6 on sale for $199 I didn't hesitate. And man I am glad I didn't because this thing packs a punch. It's so clean and clear with a crisp sound. The bass is very good you can feel the bass if you're close enough but the best part it doesn't drown out the sound. It's very well balanced! I brought it to work and was jamming out and a couple of co workers were like wow. So they ended up buying 1 for themselves. I have no doubt that it's worth the $480 original price but at $199 it's a smoking deal. If you get it on sale don't hesitate just buy it you won't be disappointed.
