Great to stream OTA or clearQam to any device and use with PLEX dvr, works great

I’ve used Silicondust products for many years and been following theIr progress of creating new products and software. I paired this with a ClearStream 2MAX antenna mounted in my attic and used the Antenna Point app on my phone to make sure it was pointed in the correct direction. I live in a rural area and I’m able to pick up the 4 major networks and their subchannels. The trick with the Connect Duo is to truly understand how it works. I run the Channels DVR on a Synology server for DVR and it works great. Silicondust has their own version of a DVR, but it’s very antiquated and needs updating. Plex also has a good DVR function and is very popular. With the Amazon Firestick being so cheap, I connect these to all the TVs in the house and the OTA broadcasts easily supplement Netflix/Hulu/Disney, etc. If you are going to use this to “cut the cord” I would recommend getting the Connect Quattro. This will allow for more streams and DVR capability.

As someone who recently cut that Cable TV subscription due to the ridiculous cost these days for very little quality content, this was a great compromise between cable and nothing at all. We can stream most of the local channels that we wanted right to our apple TV, with nothing more then an antenna. Plugs right into your router and viola. Love this thing.

Bought this so I would only need one antenna, but not have to run coaxial everywhere. Now I can get local channels on my Android TV (Sony), on my phones and laptops, and if I get a FireTV stick for my cheapo Vizio TV, there, too. BONUS, I can watch two different channels at same time, since it has two tuners.

We cut the cord over a year ago and purchased some FireTVs. I installed this with a reliable OTA antenna, paired it with my Plex and now we can stream all our local channels on all our digital devices. Installation was easy. There is also a HDHomerun app that you can install and use instead of Plex.

This thing rules. Super easy set up. Plugged in the antenna, connected to my router, downloaded the app, and had instant TV. We Cut the cord on Friday and dropped off the boxes. Went to Best Buy to get this and had our TV set up by Friday afternoon. Thanks HDhomerun for this great product, I wish your company success. I highly recommend this device.

Bought this to use with plex live tv and dvr. Works great with my outdoor antenna. Easy to set up. Just plug in your antenna cord, Ethernet cord, and power, then go to the website and follow instructions. Plex found this tuner right away and plex setup was simple.

Are use this along with they leave and Tener to help me cut the cord. By integrating the HD homerun with Plex, I can record all of my network broadcast TV shows and watch them whenever I wish.

This thing works great. You can even let the computer got to sleep, and it will record. just pick a program from the guide, and it will record every day it comes on.

Easy to install, just need a power outlet, ethernet cable, and coax from the antenna. I was able to utilize existing wiring in my house to set up in my basement. It then transmits over the internet to whatever source you're playing on, which is nice that you don't have to have it directly behind your TV or somewhere else inconvenient. I have this as my tuner for my Plex setup, so I cannot comment extensively on the HDHomerun app. I did have to use it to set up the tuner, which was easy and straight forward. Plex found the tuner super quickly and setup was simple. Re-scanning for channels and setting favorites was simple as well. I recommend! Performance of the feed is mainly dependent on your antenna. Everything with this component of my overall setup is meeting my expectations.

This silicondust connect worked like a charm. Very easy to set up. Just plug in the coax from your antenna, then the Ethernet chord from the connect to your router and voila, tv signal streamed to any connected tv. The signal is crystal clear as long as your devices are wired or you have a newer AC router. I did return it though as I wanted to run the signal through my plex system on my NAS. I got the hdhomerun extend because it has the built in transcoder so I wouldn't have to have my NAS do all the work while watching live tv or shows that I dvr'd while away from home. If you just want to stream to other tvs or iOS/android devices and you have a newer router, this is for you. Simple, and there's nothing wrong with that...it just works.

It was recommended to me by a friend so I purchased it. It installed with easy and works great. i can now watch my local networks on any TV in my house because they are all on the network. Without this unit I could only watch it on the one TV that my digital antenna was plugged into.

If you are tired of paying for cable or satellite TV, this device can be the backbone of your over the air system. It will let you watch and record TV via most devices on your home WiFi network. If you have a media center PC or a NAS you can also use it as a DVR so you can watch recorded programming on your tablet (IOS , android, windows, game console). One great aspect of this, is that you don't have to pull antenna cable to watch TV in all the rooms in your house. Since it is on your WiFi network, you can even watch TV in your yard as long as your WiFi sighal is strong enough. You can also purchase additional HDHomeruns if you need more tuners.

I have this as my OTA box to record movies via Plex and it works out of the box with minimal fuss. Wife approved gents this box is completely plug and play with Plex. I still need to test with Emby, but I expect the same situation as those guys do a good job too. Remember to buy an antenna rated for your location and channels you wish to receive as the antenna makes or breaks OTA reception, there's only so much a tuner can do to clean up a junk signal. Remember garbage in, garbage out. Get a good Antenna. Mohu is what I have paired up to this box in a basement and it works great.

This is the second HD Homerun that I have owned and I love the fact that it let's me record over the air tv programs direct to my computer for future viewing. Works seamlessly and consistently..

Plugged it in. Connected via Ethernet to get the most stable Internet connection. Connected a previously bought outdoor antenna, which is compact enough to fit almost inconspicuously on an end table in my computer room. Used Antenna Point for an accurate line of sight direction to aim my antenna toward the local TV transmitters in my area. Downloaded the HDHomerun app from the Play Store to all my devices. Opened the app on my iPhone. Clicked on my model. Clicked on Channel Lineup. Clicked on Detect Devices and let it scan for stations in my area. It came up with a whooping 55. Very satisfied. Couple of things you should know. Weak internet connections and poor antenna range and placement will result in glitching, pixelated, frozen pictures. Two annoying drawbacks have me giving it four instead of five stars. For some reason it will intermittently lose lip sync and the guide interface is very rudimentary and amateurish. Good point - unless you plan on recording TV programs, you can watch live TV programs received by your antenna for free. If you are at all technology challenged, you might want to bite the bullet and spend the extra bucks to get local channels via your cable or satellite plan.

We opted to get this device over buying another TV for our home office/gym. The room where the HDHomerun is set is has the best OTA access and has our AC Wi-Fi router, so it's an ideal setup. Set up was easy and we get lots of channels in HD for free!

I am a cord cutter. I have been using Windows 7 Media center, but looking to get better. The HD Homerun product allows me to use Emby, instead of media center. It captures live TV and streams it out. Setup is simple (took about 5 minutes) and it runs very nice.

HD Home Run installed easy. Now I can watch tv on any device in the house. works as promised.
