When you pair this with the proper antenna for your home and Plex media server, this is an amazing solution to cut the cord.

This is my second unit for a total of 8 tuners to complete my home system with a Windows server running Plex to record off air shows and can now watch all my local recorded shows, or live local TV, anywhere I may be just as long I have internet thru a Roku device. Pretty much a plug and play setup.

Best thing to avoid having to run coax cable from your Outdoor ota antenna to each of the 4 smart tvs.just a Single coax from your ota antenna to the device ,Connect Ethernet from internet router and done . Easy set up using there app . Don’t like the HDHomeRun app on mobile device it’s a poor setup and functionality could use some work I used a different app I downloaded right from App Store or google play called channels works great . I connected my Samsung tv to the HDHomeRun and I’d say the tv version Of the app is even worse , it functions like it should but it’s just a mess not easy to use at all and unfortunately I could not find the same alternative app I used for mobile device as it’s not available on the Samsung smart tv App Store . Overall it does the job , just too bad The app needs some work and dvr feature is monthly paid subscription

I was interested in this box while i was walking around the store and was impressed by the features. I have this connected to my Mohu Leaf antenna, now i can watch antenna TV on my Desktop computer, laptop computer, iPhone, TV, etc. I can watch up to four different programs at once. No more buying one antenna for each TV.

Simple product in simple package. Upon opening it has the unit and an ac adapter.
The configuration of the unit itself is scarily basic but I suppose it's really not intended for use in its own right. You'll want to be comfortable enough with technology to know how to determine your devices IP Address.
Beyond that, the best recommendation is that you use this with another application like Plex which does a great job of utilizing this tuner giving you the ability to stream live over the air with a user friendly channel guide and even DVR functionality.
In terms of performance the only complaint I have is that I wish it was proactive in updating its firmware, other than that this unit has been great and I've enjoyed many hours of OTA channels on my home TV's.

I had watched this product for a number of years and finally pulled the trigger. You can buy some apps for iPhone / iPad to actually aim your antenna and monitor signal levels. Silicon Dust just recently added a small streaming package for around $35 a month that you can add to your antenna setup to have a fantastic cord cutting solution. You can add DVR service if you have a NAS drive. Doesn't work with the Roku that I'm aware of but works fine on Apple TV 4K (with channels app) as well as the FireTV. You can also use it on many smart tvs with native DNLA. Going that route is super janky with list of mpeg streams and no interface. If you're super thrifty, you can go this route. If you use an AppleTV 4 or 4k, I'd recommend picking up the awesome (yet pricey) 3rd party Channels app. Fantastic features and frequent updates.
You'll definitely want to be sure that you have a beefy network to use this as the streams are not transcoded / compressed like you'll find with Tablo.
This product is touch to beat. Very satisfied and can't wait for an ASTC 3.0 version.

A great way to watch TV anywhere in your home on networked devices. It's not for connecting to when not on your wired or wireless network. My only complaint is the software is mediocre. Impossible to just set a plain old "record this channel at this time." It works a lot like TiVo, but the problem is when the provider doesn't properly code episodes, so HomeRun assumes new episodes are repeats and skips them (example: Buzzr). Otherwise, it's a good value and works fine. Remember, you need a good antenna or cable with the ability to connect to an external device. READ the requirements to avoid frustration. You also need an "always on" computer or NAS to save recordings, plus a subscription to their EPG.

It solved all our broadcast tv issues and was able to see local channels and streams to every home device with ease. Easy to install, very satisfied with this affordable product. Requires one antenna and was able to eliminate all other antennas from each tv.

Not having cable, this is a great addition. I combine this with a Plex Pass and have the ability to now watch and or record up to four channels at the same time. Not that I'd watch 4 at once, but the whole house can benefit from this. I got this on a super sale, got this one for the same price as the dual tuner model.
The software that Silicon Dust recommends you use is fine, but use Plex instead, which is way better in my opinion. I was concerned that high def channel streaming through my network would slow things down, but i haven't noticed any issues and the picture quality is perfect. I'm happy with my purchase. I want to go out and get a better antenna for more channels and higher quality steams.

People often ask us which software to use, and the answer is usually dependent on what they're comfortable with. If they're strong in the ways of tech (or already have a Plex server) Plex is a great way to go. If they're a bit new, or they just want a regular old DVR, we suggest the official HDHomeRun software. And so on. As some other reviewers have said, it's definitely worth thinking about how you'll use this hardware as you're considering buying! Thanks for the review!

We used the product in an effort to help a cord cutter customer who had various forms of tech in place. Our client was an affluent local venture capitol guy. He did not seek a professional advisor when his home was built. He was running 4 TV locations with OTA antennas beside each TV, Apple TV units attempting to connect WIfi to stream 4K video. None of it was working well and none of it looked good. Our plan was to deliver him something upscale that keep the parts he liked and refined the parts that did not work for him. The HDHome Run paired with hardwired data lines to each of the Apple TV 4K locations, a exterior OTA Antenna, and a external harddrive took this cord cutter's dreams and made them reality. Working flawlessly for the TV portion of the Apple TV and allowing for the content to be recorded and Played back using the PLEX app, also installed on the Apple works great.

All you need to do is connect an antenna and patch into a network. Super easy to set up. I use JRiver Media Center (separate cost) for a DVR and for recording purposes. Coupled with this device, you can watch/record up to four shows simultaneously.

It's a pretty big step away from years ago when you'd need a different antenna for every TV and each antenna would need to be positioned just right. Now, you set it and forget it and it all just works!

A really popular way of using HDHomeRun devices is to run the HDHomeRun app for live TV and pairing that with the DVR capabilities of one of our great partners like Plex or Emby. However you use your HDHomeRun, we're definitely always excited to hear about it!

We dropped our cable service earlier this year and went with Roku TV service. We have been happy with this decision except for the lack of local news and weather. Attached to a wireless router, this gives us network television throughout the house, in addition it serves as a HD DVR for television.

This is a 4 tuner version of the awesome HDHomeRun solutions from Silicon Dust. This is perfect for cord cutters, especially when combined with Apple TV and the Channels App. I have a low-cost Amazon HD antennae connected to the box, and then it connects to my home router w/ethernet cable. The ATV w/ Channels just connects via Wifi. Its a beautiful thing. One thing to note, if you want DVR functionality and will be using Channels with ATV, make sure NOT to enable the HDHomeRun DVR, use the Channels DVR. I did that by mistake, but the folks at SiliconDust were great and refunded the cost.

Started out great but now pixelating. I love the 4 tuners. I cut the cord about 6 years ago and this product helps to just have one good antenna hooked up to it and share it on any device. I installed on Roku and amazon fire stick and iPad and iPhones. The only thing I have not been able to install on is Apple TV 3 as apple does not let you add any app to that version. I heard on Apple TV 4 you can download HDHomeRun app. Worked great for a 2 weeks but now it is pixelating. Will have to reset my modem and router to see if it helps.

I purchased the HDHomerun Connect Quattro as an attempt to drop cable. It met my expectations and picked up almost all nearby Over-the-Air local channels when I paired it with a amplified flat leaf type antenna. I’m less than 30 miles away from most tv broadcast towers so I don’t need a strong antenna. I haven’t tried to record from the hdhomerun device yet but I plan to use either the hdhomerun dvr service (with a subscription cost) or a Windows Media Center PC for free, Overall I can’t complain with the low upfront cost of the device vs the savings from dropping cable. Definitely recommend!
