My initial impression upon opening the box was: Where am I going to put this enormous knife block? It takes up a lot of counter space. As a general rule for knives integrity, you should not wash sharpened knives in the dishwasher. However, I did try it once, and the handles started to look scratched, and the cutting edge became less sharp. Another thing I noticed is that if you handwash the knives and don't dry them properly, rust spots will appear on the blade by the second day. I didn't expect that. In general, they look great when new. If you want to keep them in good condition, you need to dry them properly and avoid using a dishwasher.
