Classic fantasy-sci fi mash-up. Very 80s production values, but a great script and fun performances.

Everything is Remastered to perfection. Out of all the 4K remastered movies I have seen, this is by far the best! After all, there can be only one! And this is it! Crystal clean audio with virtually no mono/stereo hiss in 85% of the audio and almost unnoticeable unless you really listen in the rest of the movie! The HDR lighting is amazing. Very well done.

"There can be only one" is probably the perfect quote to sum up Highlander being released on 4K. I highly doubt the sequels will ever make it past bluray (if they made it that far), but this movie is deserving of the title to be the only one.
Between a great cast and an epic soundtrack led by Freddie Mercury and Queen, it was a perfect recipe to create a movie anyone can enjoy (if you like sword flicks).
The opening them, 'Princes of the Universe' is by far one of Queen's best songs, but they've had so many beyond this one.
The plot is simple, a group of immortals vie for the coveted title of being "the one" by battling one another to the death. As one immortal beheads another, they are then treated to an experience called the Quickening, a release of powerful energy that the living immortal absorbs, taking in all the power and knowledge of their opponent. Dispatching all immortals but one will grant them "The Prize" (this is brought up in Highlander 2).
The movie also shows the consequences of being immortal and though not subtle, it doesn't just hit you in the face with it.
It's a simple movie that doesn't make you think too hard about its themes and well paced to keep you entertained.

Easily the best release of this awesome film, I’m extremely happy that this cult classic got the 4K treatment. This has a great HD transfer, good sound quality, and a decent amount of special features to keep you entertained. If you’re looking for a great cult classic to own in your collection, as the tagline goes: There Can Be Only One!

Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery star in the epic tale of immortality that launched one of the most beloved action-adventure series in film and TV history. After Scottish clansman Connor MacLeod (Lambert) discovers his true identity as a member of a legion of immortals, he embarks on a legendary journey spanning continents and centuries, eventually landing in modern-day New York City. Connor faces his ultimate test when other immortals begin to appear in the city, leading to a titanic showdown where only one can claim victory. Directed by Russell Mulcahy and featuring a soundtrack by Queen, this is the modern classic that has attracted millions of warrior fans worldwide. This is Highlander!
