And yes, with another tv the picture was just fine. Thus not a cable issue. Took it back, bought a Sony. You get what you pay for.

Cracked Screen

She and her roommates have autism and are in their late 30's. They were in need of a new and more updated TV. They were so excited when it came. Then the box was opened for set up only to find that the screen was shattered. Now someone else will have to go through all the hassle of returning it because I live in a different state! Best Buy packaging sucks!!!!!!

Hisense 40 in tv

It didn't work

I was sold a "Roku, HiSense Smart TV". However after trying to figure out how to access the apps (like Netflix) that I was fed up & so I brought it back to the store. They were baffled & couldn't explain it but said it definitely wasn't functioning as a smart Tv so I exchanged it for a different brand.

Item was damaged when we opened it up

Took it In the next day and got the run around when returning it. Had to lug the tv into the store twice in order to get refund. Did not have the tv in stock and was advised they don't carry Hisense in the stores. Worst part was having to lug the tv around with no help or cart. I will not do business with Best Buy ever again.

Sharp = Hisense - Great QUALITY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many women, i love to shop, but my husband is much more frugal. I have been using the same flatscreen Vizio since college in 2010. We looked at many TVs and this one was on sale for $179 - I just never heard of HISENSE. It turns out that company purchased Sharp and it is a great TV. The only problem is the screen seems to be made cheaply so you can't handle it very much or it feels like it will easily break. The color is great, the volume is very loud, I never have to turn it beyond the lowest setting because it really blasts. Finally, you can't beat this sale price. It's cheaper than my smaller TV that I paid $1k for brand new when HDTV was the trending technology. It's not 4k but everything is not yet on that platform either. I figure, by the time 4k fully catches on, they will have adapted the technology and will have better televisions more compatible with the updated resolution. Overall this television is well worth the cost.

Never worked

Those were not even met as the TV never even turned on out of the box. Had to take the TV back and upgrade to a different one (of course they didn't have any to exchange it with)

In the long run I purchased another Samsung tv. The hisense just did not cut it!

Great intry level tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly thought the tv wouldn't be great because of the brand and the price point but I was wrong . Picture quality is definitely 10/10. I have terrible glare in my living room but the panel seamlessly compensates for that . This tv is EXTREMELY loud and has no problem filling a room, however if you listen to bass heavy music the tv will strain and drop the volume to compensate for that bass and sounds tiny. I don't have this problem with bass heavy movies or games though. I'm really enjoying this tv and the Hisense brand.

Excellent Picture, Small Footprint

The TV came well packaged, and was meant for a bedroom in our property in northern Michigan. We would only have an antenna hooked up to this TV. The picture on this TV is amazing--better than the TV we have in our living room. Bright, sharp colors and good contrast right out of the box. And the sound is also very crisp and loud enough, even at low levels. The only complaint I have of the TV is that there is no way to manually add channels. For example, we need to point the antenna in different directions to receive different stations. Running the automatic scan erases the previous channels you found, so there is no way to get all the channels at once. I can fix this by running the antenna cable from the main antenna on the house rather than using rabbit ears. Overall, a great TV and a great value.

Can't beat it for the price

Very light, great picture for the money and an overall good purchase. The TV itself doesn't seem to be all that sturdy but is fine for most people who mount it and leave it alone.

40" Hisense
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased the TV to put in my family room along side my big TV (to watch two games at once), it worked great and looked well, but apparently LG and Hisense use the same programming codes for their remotes. I instead switched out my bedroom TV for the Hisense. It is a great TV for the bedroom. The sound is clear and the picture is fantastic. I would highly recommend it, am thinking of getting another for my son's room.
