Customers are impressed with the picture quality, calling it "pretty decent." They also appreciate the affordable price and the convenience of having a smart TV with Roku built-in. The easy setup process is another advantage mentioned by many customers. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the durability of the TV and the need to use two remote controls.

Hisense is a horrible company. There products are awful. Have had this TV in twice since Feb. 2016. Brought it in today and it cannot be repaired and the company is out of business so we cannot replace. Best Buy gave us a gift card for the purchase price but it doesn't cover replacing the TV with a like model. Very disappointing. I believe BestBuy should replace the TV as they were carrying the faulty product.

good basic TV

Overall, I like this TV. Not sure I would get this as my main TV as unsure about Hinsense for its long term reliability just yet, but I got it for a bedroom area and it has worked well for this so far. I do like the built-in Roku feature as lot and hopefully more upscale TVs will adopt this in the future. One less remote to mess around with and better integration. It has a good number of basic inputs (HDMI & composite) and a soundbar can be hooked up in the future if needed (my two biggest requirements when shopping for a TV). Overall, I am glad I purchased it.

I have always been hesitant in spending extra money for a smart wireless TV but took a chance on this bargain during a sale. After one week of having this tv I would not have had buyers remorse if I had paid full price. With my savings I got the extended warranty since this is my first Hisense product and that provided peace of mind in limiting that risk. I have a 46" Samsung 1080p 120hz tv and I see no difference in quality. The Samsung is hooked to a wired smart blueray hometheater system and this Hisense ROKU wireless smart tv is faster in loading and playing internet content such as netflix and youtube and has many times the options for free an paid online content. Also, it is easy to setup and use. The home screen can be personalized and contain as little or much information you want. I had this tv out of the box mounted and fully functioning in @ 20 minutes. I will be adding some type of sound system as the speakers are only moderately adequate which by the way is no different than the Samsung that I own. If this TV lasts as long as the extended warranty I will be complely satisfied and will not hesitate to buy another Hisense product.

Nice Smart TV!

This is a nice Smart TV for the price. The set up was a breeze. I initially bought an Insignia 40" but returned it once I saw that this TV was on sale. The built in ROKU interface is really cool. Its fast, clean, and anyone could learn how to use it.
PS: This TV actually measure 40" diagonally

Decided to give this tv a shot as it was having a great sale. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the tv to detect my wireless network which kinda defeats the purpose of having a smart tv. Maybe I was just unlucky but I exchanged it for a more reliable brand (Samsung) which detected the network right away.

After 1.5 years of use, it won't connect to the internet on several occasions. I don't see it lasting more than 2 years of very minimal use. Next time i will spend a few hundred dollars more than i paid for this for a quality smart TV that will work for at least 5 years.

Wasn't what I expected and when I called the store know what give me an answer on how it worked. When I took it back one of the shelves and upset this probably wasn't one of the best and would not recommend it. I would not recommend this product to anyone

Have had this TV a month, works flawless, I waited for a weekend to set it up, I was expecting difficulty, but the set up was so smooth, in less than 30 mins I had set up a new wireless router and the TV, plus Indoor Mohu antenna, all that was left was picking the channels that I wanted, remote is so simple to use. I have actually cut the cord to my satellite programing, not missing it one bit plus I'm saving $100+ a month.

Great TV so far

This tv has been great so far in the several weeks that I have had it. The picture is very good, the setup is the easiest I've ever done, user interface is amazingly easy and efficient to use and works great. iPhone or iPad apps also work extremely well when using them to control this tv. Bought this tv for $279 on sale. I've never seen a TV this size, smart, with built in Roku any where near the price that this one sells for. Hisense and TCL are the top TV brands in China and are just making their way here to US. I bought the protection plan because no one could give me any info on this TV and online info was very limited. So far this tv has been fantastic, I would have to recommend it.

This TV exceeds expectations. If you have unlimited internet bandwidth, then this TV is a dream for you. I stream hours of ESPN (using DIRECTV subscription), play games, and watch Netflix. There's so much more to do on the TV, I just haven't gotten to it yet. It feels like a giant smartphone with a remote... lots of possibilities. Much better than your traditional smart TV with only Netflix/Amazon etc. Happy shopping.

Great set that you can operate from your IPad.

This is a great set! Easy to set up and use in less than a half hour. The remote is a breeze to understand and you can either use it or once you download the ROKU TV app on your IPad or tablet device you can control functions of the set with that. You can download a complete user manual at the Hisense website but set up and first time operation is easy to do with the included booklet. Picture quality is excellent on this set, better than the INsignia that I previously used. The home screen can be personalized with a background of your choosing. The USB port is handy to use to access photos from an external hard drive or other off board device. It does not store the photos by the way so will have to download each time you use an off board USB storage device. It did download all 3032 items on my external hard drive. Aso has AV port and 3 HDMI ports and a connection for using an antenna. The tuner can access analog and digital channels in your area. There are still some analog stations in use in some areas like where I live and the tuner is excellent on this set. I really have no negatives yet because the set has performed flawlessly for 5 days. You have access to 1800 plus channels in the Chanell store, every possible program choice, some free and some pay depending in what you likes are. Mine is the 40 inch, big as I care to use, besides it fits in the space perfectly. I would recommend off board speakers which may be a negative for some people but the in set speakers are fair not great but fair. Overall I have to give 5 stars for this set, Hisense has a winner as far as I'm concerned.

Decent but not great

The addition of Roku is the only reason I am giving this TV 4 instead of 3 stars. Without the Roku option this TV's picture and functionality is average at best. Good picture with full HD, average picture with digital channels and low HD, poor picture with low quality formats. The 60Hz refresh rate and 8.5ms response time means that during fast action scenes "motion blur" is visible and can become distracting. Menu options are slightly more than basic allowing the user to adjust the usual settings plus a few for screen size and video input. "GAMERS NOTE" There is an option under the advanced setting tab to turn gamers mode on or off to help reduce lag in gameplay. When used as a computer monitor I find the picture average depending again on the quality of the signal and types of media formats being played. The Roku function is responsive, easy to navigate and setup, and (depending on your likes) can add a plethora of viewing options. Yes, most major services like Netflix, Hulu, etc. require subscriptions. Yes, most premium cable channels like HBO, Showtime, etc. require either a stand alone subscription or for you to already be a cable subscriber. And yes, there are several more that require some type of subscription or purchase fee. There are also hundreds that are absolutely free or they may require you to watch a movie "with commercials". Not to mention that there are private or hidden channels, but we won't get into that.
All in all it is an average TV that most buyers will be happy with. However, if you can (and especially if this is to be your main TV) step up to a true 120hz (not those fake "true motion" or "clear motion") refresh rate with the lowest possible response time for the clearest picture.
