First the good. Picture and sound good, both much better than the Smart Samsung I replaced. Easy to set up (wall mount). Instructions are clear but would advise going to Hisense site and downloading the PDF User Manual. 4 HDMI ports, USB. Lots of Apps to choose depending on your viewing preference, plus you can download your own. Bad: have had two instances where the TV just shut itself off, like it was on a timer (but was not), then difficult to restart. So far, solved by unplugging, then plugging in again. If continues will have to contact support. Also annoying unable to get thumbnails instead of standard icons when attaching a USB drive with recorded movies in MP4 format, but the movies do play OK. In all, just like a new car still playing and getting familiar with some of the features, but very pleased with purchase.

This has great contrast for those viewing in dark room like myself. Colors and brightness are good as well. It has good input lag for those that game often and need a display that can keep up in fast paced games. It supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision which is good in this price range however there is not HDR10+. It supports HDMI Arc which is good for those connecting to an exterior soundbar like most people should for the best experience.
The interface is lacking however. I updated to the lastest firmware which change the appearance and somewhat sped up the smoothness but it is still slow for my taste. I have my connected to an Xbox so i control my apps through there, but for those planning to just use the smart tv I suggest you buy a Roku

When it comes to color quality, brightness and HDR, this TV is great for the price. However it has a very spongy, junk quality remote. The Android TV is nice because it can run a ton of apps. However it can extremely frustrating to have it stay out of your way. It is constantly trying to shove Google content down your throat. The remote is also lacking certain buttons that some Android apps take for granted. It can be frustrating.
If you want this TV to just watch Netflix and rent movies, then it is designed exactly for that.
If I were measuring this TV just for the price and screen quality I would give it 5/5.

has not sure about buying hisense brand, not buying this would have been a mistake. this thing is just stellar.
for 330$ you get dolby vision, full array back lighting with 32 zones, close to 750 nits peak brightness, 4 hdmi 2.0 ports, wide color gamete, very decent speakers. and android TV with voice remote. its as close to perfect you can get. the only downside is slow processing ( easy fix get a fire tv 4k 25$). was lucky to get a panel with very little vignette and dirty screen effect.

I was kind of hesitant on buying this because I always go with lg or samsung and I've never heard of this brand. I bought this for my brother when he moved into his apartment for college and I didn't want to get him something super nice, because college students. The tv is super clean and clear and connects to amazon alexa and can be easily controlled by alexa for simple things like turning on and off, volume up and down and such. Good buy for the price

Horrible TV. I have been using it for over a year and it has been quite the hassle. The User Interface is SUPER slow and very unresponsive. I thought I could get used to it but no. I have literally had times where I spend 10 minutes trying to switch inputs because the TV refuses to switch from HDMI 1 to HDMI 4. The TV will randomly turn off or on sometimes. Sometimes it will switch apps for no reason. It also has a issue with the backlit. The corner is start flickering until I reset the TV. I also have issues just trying to turn on the TV. The few good things I can say are when the TV ACTUALLY work, the image quality is nice. The TV itself looks nice from the outside. The speakers are decent. But that is it. PLEASE do buy this. Save your money and get a higher quality TV. Not a fan. Hisense: do better!

I am very pleased with my 50" H8F. I'm enjoying the Android TV is even if it isn't as fast as a Nvidia shield, it does the job and handles screencasting well. With 4 HDMI, I have room to keep my Roku and Firestick along with 2 game systems all ready to use. The picture is great. The remote is great. It actually has numbers on the remote and has a microphone built in to use in the "search" section of many apps. I haven't used Google assistant much, but there's a button for that too. If I switch to my Firestick, I can use the TV remote for most functions.
I tried the built in speakers and they were ok, but my soundbar is better so I'll stick with that.
In all reviews I found for the H8F, they say there are two options for mounting the feet but that is only true of the 55" and 65". The 50" has one pair of mounting holes all the way to the end.
The method for registering the TV to work with Alexa never did send me the promised "confirm your account" email, but when I tried again to log in a day later, my registration had been confirmed and the Alexa skills are pretty neat.
I would buy this TV again.

rtings already bought a H8F but still no review posted yet. I went ahead and bought the 50H8F to try.
It is for my man's cave, currently on a TCL 4-series (good but too dim). It is hooked up to two PCs:
a HEDT (high-power for work & some gaming) & a NUC7i3 (for power-saving streaming).
Other reviewers already said all the good things about this TV. I'm just talking about its usage as a PC monitor.
For AndroidTV OS, I have to actually connect to the device and adjust the settings within, similar to WindowsOS.
The OS probably need to actually communicate with the device to make sure of the settings.
While running Windows10, pull up the TV settings (a button on the remote) and change the "HDMI 2.0 format" to
"Enhanced" ... back to Windows Display settings, set my resolution to 4k Full-range + turn on HDR. This will makes
the TV to detect HDR10 signal... now back to the TV Picture settings & adjust whatever you like.
I'm currently using "HDR Game" settings with few minor adjustments... looking great, but sure still looking out
for more tunings.
My takes so far:
* This TV is great for your $$$ (and more)...
* It supports HDR10 beautifully (easily beat my Vizio-M & TCL 403 which will wash out once you turn on Windows10 HDR).
Almost as good as my Sony-900E which has better motion support, but the Sony has no Dolby Vision & costs mucho more$$$.
* HDMI-CEC still has some bugs (can't switch source).. will wait for future updates.
So, this H8F is a great monitor, for the price. It surely is a keeper for me.

I needed a new tv for my bedroom (previous one was 28" diagonal). Best selection and close store was Best Buy. The one I originally wanted was sold out so the sales associate recommended the Hisense. I was not familiar with the brand but decided to try it. The picture is clear and since it is an android tv it has lots of connectivity. Still learning all the tricks and tips but it was really easy to set up.

This actually was the first 4k TV I ever purchased. Overall I am very happy with the 50-inch Hisense H8F TV.
Pros: Excellent picture quality. The screen gets very bright and blacks get very black. The Android 8 O/S is easy to use especially if you're already familiar with Android. Being an Android TV meant not having to create a new login/password. I simply used my existing Google account during setup.
Cons: The TV only has 4GB of memory total. The speakers are decent, but lack bass, as is the case with most TVs these days. I had/still have an unresolved issue in updating the firmware that Hisense support has failed to resolved after multiple attempts. The software will download, but an (unspecified) error occurs during the installation.

The picture quality is very good. I get excellent black levels with very little halos. The remote is unwieldy not very intuitive. Stick with it and after a few days of fiddling it should be OK. You can pair with cable box. Web browsing is AWFUL

I love the "Youtube" feature. With this smart tv I get great recommendations for some great shows, based on what I've watched previously. Remote has a button for youtube and a couple others. I live in a bad area but have been able to get decent reception with an antenna....sometimes things fade out, but not the fault of tv. Great picture and sound. Bestbuy customer service though is awful. My tv was delivered to my neighbors house, who doesn't live close to me and I had to hunt it down. Customer service at Bestbuy said they would give delivery instructions to Fedex and they did not. Customer service people on the phone will "transfer" you or "disconnect" if they don't want to deal with your problem and they won't take complaints. I love the tv, so far but will never buy from BestBuy again.

The major issue I had is with the Android Smart TV in general. With Chromecast built in, I was hoping to not have to hook up a seperate Chromecast. Performance was very bad. Lots of buffering and playback was very glitchy.
I did not expect amazing performance as far as response time and latency for the cost, but it was pretty bad. I really wanted to watch smooth sports broadcasts, but no matter the settings, It bugged me.

Thank you for your interest in Hisense USA. We sincerely apologize for the issue you are having with your television freezing up. Please do a factory reset on the television by going to Settings>Device Preferences>Reset. The television will then shut off and after coming back on will prompt you to set up the TV like when it was just out of box. If this does not resolve the issue please give us a call at 1-888-935-8880 or email us at [email protected]. Thanks Again,
We look forward to hearing from you!

I initially ignored the Hisense brand thinking it was a low quality generic, but the more research I did, the more it seemed like exactly what I was looking for, and I'm glad I considered it.
The Android TV integration is solid - maybe not the most lightning quick load times (especially for more resource-heavy apps like the recent Hulu refresh), but it's responsive enough not to feel frustrating. Our old Nexus Player was getting old and unstable (and does not run said Hulu refresh), so this is a big improvement.
After a few hours of trying the various picture modes, I've found that "Cinema Day" with medium-low color temperature, low-level active backlight, and absolutely NO noise reduction or motion processing gimmicks produce a very clear, bright, vivid, and most importantly accurate picture with only minor brightness/contrast/tint modification depending on the conditions and source. Amazing image compared even to the mid-tier Toshiba we bought only 3 years ago.
(As an aside, all of those image-processing and motion-smoothing features just take away from the image as the director intended it... if you really love movies, don't fall for those gimmicks)
I will say the 50" model does not have a drastic improvement in picture quality in 4K or HDR (at least not from streaming sources - haven't had a chance to try something like a UHD Blu-ray), I'm guessing that screen size itself is a limiting factor and the larger models would be a little easier to see the added detail - but it still plays it brightly and clearly and with remarkably accurate color when set up correctly.
Audio from the stock speakers is only so-so, but sound bars with wireless subs are so cheap these days, it's pretty much a non-issue. My only gripe is that I can't fully disable the audio, so we still have to use two remotes to make sure the TV volume doesn't change with the sound bar.
Exceptionally happy with this purchase so far. (Hope it holds up!)

Was blown away by this TV as soon as I turned it on. Crisp picture and easy to use layout thanks to androidTV. The stand and razor thin edges make this look like anything but a budget TV. You do lose some picture quality at sharp viewing angles compared to the big name brands, but at half the cost, this is a very minor issue. The only way you will tell this is a budget TV is the cheap remote.

I bought this based on a recommendation from a former Best Buy employee - I have NOT been disappointed yet. Great image quality, sound has also been fine from what I've noticed so far. Packs a great punch compared to some of the pricier Samsung TVs... I'm not a TV expert but I have been very pleased with everything about this. The microphone on the remote does not work for me, but other than that, I have no issues, and I can still type in everything I look for in the app store which is really the only time I would use the mic anyway.

I do love that it's Android TV, IMO that's much nicer than the Amazon Fire or Roku interfaces. But, that being said, TV manufacturers need to step up the processor they're using in these "smart" TVs. For those of us accustomed to AppleTVs, or Fire TV boxes, these smart TVs are just god awfully slow.
Now the Pro's: This Hisense looks amazing, and the price is substantially less than comparable models.
If they could get the Android TV to be snappy, and the voice part of the remote to actually work, this would be 5 stars.
