Wifi disconnects and stays off
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is fine, it's good value for the features etc... However, every time I turn it on, it's no longer connected to the wifi. Wifi is turned off, and when you toggle it on, it just turns itself back off. To fix this, every time, I have to clear the cache and unplug the TV.

Screen arrived cracked throughout.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was necessary to personally transport the T.V. to a local Best Buy. This was quite inconvenient. Model was not in stock within 250 miles of my location, so I needed to upgrade to a larger size for additional cost. Fortunately, staff was accommodating in all things, including the selection of additional items.

Pixelating After 23 Months
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Made it 23 months before pixelating. TV is now unwatchable. Trade doing a hard reset hoping for a miracle, but sadly no. Probably the shortest lifespan of any TV ever purchased.

Most bang for your buck in mid-range TVs!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV came at the perfect time as my last TV had a lighting zone that was switching between bright and dim and was driving us nuts! Android TV opens a lot of doors above and beyond what my old TV had which was a proprietary app store that left a lot to be desired. The Google Play market for apps reveals a huge number of apps to be had! The mounting holes are in 300mm X 200mm pattern, different from what I had so I had to pick up a new wall mount that I could attach to my old 200x200 pedestal for a TV the same size. No problem - easy enough. Picture is extremely clean and bright, especially if you put it on "Vivid" mode. There are other selectable modes, so your preferences all can be accomodated. Sounds range is very good for a built in speaker set. Sounds are nice and full with decent highs and lows. No, it won't rumble the walls with bass, but it does sound really good! I again find myself enjoying watching TV along with the Google Assistant that is built in. I can find shows as well as find out things about shows - this is what a SMART TV should be! HiSense has made themself my favorite mid-range TV now - I won't be returning to the last brand I had!

Grrrrreat Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first Hisense product we ever purchased. We travel to many All Inclusive Resorts in Mexico and Jamaica. Many use a Hisense Flat screen TV. They all worked great and were sharp and clear with reasonable volume. We thought we were dye in the wool Samsung viewers. However, after comparing different 50" smart TVs with Android it was obvious Hisense - 50" Class H8G Quantum Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV was the best on paper. Being the only under $400 with a motion refresh of 240. For those unaware, the big the screen the more giddier the motion can been during rapid movements on the screen such and watching a player running for a basket or a dancer doing speed leaps ect.... The standard retrace is 60hz. as is true here however some set have built in electrics to double it and calling it motion refresh at 120 which helped dramatically. However, this unit's technology boost the motion fresh to 4x the stand rate to 240 x/sec. Do your own scouting and see how much more it will cost for that speed on other brands. Speed cost $$$ and the bigger the screen 60, 70 and larger more speed is best. Hisense - 50" Class H8G Quantum Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV. Easy setup. It come with a HMDI cable a must for a cable box, I didn't see it and set up with a coax and the picture was horrible. I was ready to box it it when my wife said "what's this - did you read the instructions"; obviously NOT! Any case Great picture over the cable always better over the internet. Very Good Sound. We have not adjusted anything. Right out of the box. May seem bright to some but in a bright room nothing is missed. As for ease of use just use the remote or two if you don't reprogram it for your box. Just point and click. Put the support phone number in your phone thats what it's for. Call 8-8 east coast time. TCM's Black & White is excellent the blacker than black is perfect. The only real negative are the instructions. If you are not savvy with Andoid it's ok plenty of apps. But you need to know how to sideload to use it in place of your Firestick. Also if your not a Google Fan then you have a problem. It's a must to access the good stuff. Like Play Store, which gets you Downloader which is required to sideload. But those of you that CAN go crazy. The last limitation is internal memory <5g. and no idea of ram at this time. I strong recommend this Hisense - 50" Class H8G Quantum Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV to anyone shopping for a new 50" smart tv.

Great Bang For The Buck!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned a lot of televisions over the years but never a Hisense, up until now. I pulled the TV out of the box and noted the small size of the bezel. I began to screw on the feet and noticed they were made of real metal, not plastic. Sitting on my stand, the TV not only looks nice but it's sturdy. Turning on the TV begins the setup process, which was quick and easy. The TV easily paired with my Android phone and the google app. I calibrated the display to my liking using a calibration disc and made some adjustments. It’s not a professional calibration, but it made a difference in my eyes. I reduced the backlight to my preference and set the picture mode to Theater Night and set the temperature setting in the advanced picture menu to the warmest setting. This got me close and I only had to make a few small adjustments to the contrast, brightness, sharpness, tint and color settings. I also found it helpful that the TV had tools, such as a blue filter, in the settings menu that helped me with the calibration. The voice remote is a nice touch and coupled with the google app on your phone you can easily control the TV with just your voice. If you want to open an app you don’t need to go through the menu, you can just use the voice remote and the TV will open the app for you. This is a pretty cool feature that I liked, especially at this price point. Since it’s an Android TV there are plenty of apps in the app store to install and I found all the apps I use, such as Plex, Prime Videos, YouTube and Vudu, available to install. I’ve had TV’s in the past where screen uniformity was an issue. Problems ranged from ghosting to clouding to flash lighting from the edges and I looked for all those defects in my TV. I didn’t find any noticeable issues with the TV. The picture appeared to be uniform across the entire screen, which made it nice watching Star Wars and Star Trek movies that have a lot of dark scenes. Overall I’m real happy with the picture quality. I wasn’t expecting much from the built-in speakers but again I was pleasantly surprised by their performance. Audio was clear, even at low volume, and the speakers were plenty loud enough. While the speakers aren’t equivalent to a stereo surround system or sound bar, these do work well. For the price of this TV you can’t go wrong with what you get. When compared to other LED televisions, I found the picture quality and features to be great and would easily recommend it to anyone in my family over some more expensive name brand models.

Very Pleased- Great Deal!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like others, I was somewhat dubious about how good a deal this seemed, but have been VERY pleasantly surprised. Context: I'm no video or audiophile, I'm not a gamer, I AM a well-established cord-cutter with significant experience in the various streaming apps (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc.) as well as leading streaming "environments" (e.g. Roku, Fire Stick, etc.). Pros: - sound is good right out of the box- the last TV we bought from a leading manufacturer was nigh on useless without a sound bar! The Hisense speakers were solid immediately. I still hooked up a sound bar for richer bass and better surrounud-ish sound, but I was fine waiting the week for an opitcal cord to ship vs. having to immediately run out because we couldn't hear anything - The Android TV OS is simple to navigate, has all the main apps I want and some entertaining games you can play straight from the remote- I'll definitely use those as I wait "two more minutes" for the family to get ready for [insert any event ever here]. Note: the integration of the Google Play store also means that many more gamepad-controlled games are available, I may have to try that out! - The built-in Chromecast functions made casting video & pictures from phones super simple- even from an iOS device via app - I haven't quite decided how & when to best use voice-control to its fullest, but simple searches via voice beat the heck out of navigating the on-screen keyboards! - It's simply a sleek and stylish TV- there's only a very small "frame" making the picture itself all you see Cons: - really nothing significant- all of the streaming platforms seem to have pros & cons- the Android TV OS is no different. I miss an app or two from my fire stick and the cross-app search function in Roku, but seeing as I still have both connected to the TV- it's a minor inconvenience, but no deal-breaker At this point, my only real issues have been related to my internet connection & my only real regret is that I only gambled a little by getting the 50 inch model... 65 inches could have been that much better :)

Can't be beat!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I'm a diehard Sony TV fan, that being said I can't believe what I am watching here. This TV is a game changer! There is nobody even close at this price range with the quality, features or style of this TV. I am sure it will influence the entire market. If they can do this at this price range, imagine what they could do at the cheaper price range of big name manufactures. I had two negative issues. First the smell, my god it was awful at first, took almost two weeks to disappear. When I cranked up the settings and played some games, it got a tad glitchy, movies also. I reduced the settings and cured that issue. It still has an amazing picture though. Also, the remote is pretty basic but I use a harmony remote anyway so not a big concern. The TV itself looks high end, thin bezel and the thickness is minimal also. The settings are endless, just like the higher end TV's. Nice quality screen with minimal glare. The menu is okay and easy to navigate, nothing flashy but it all works and is functional. The sound quality blew me away as well, I never use TV speakers but was impressed by the range and volume of this TV.

Smarter than my other televisions
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned smart TV products for years, but this is my first Hisense. The Google version is smarter than my others and the remote is very nice. The Google Assistant is more handy than I had ever imagined, letting me give verbal commands, choose applications and find shows. The picture is absolutely outstanding and the colors are vibrant. It adapts to various parameters and adjusts as the movie is playing. The sound is also very good from the stock speakers. I was able to use the included remote to control my Firestick, but not Roku. The applications load quickly and switch seamlessly. I haven’t been watching live sports with the seasons being canceled, but action movies are not showing any lag whatsoever. It seems to keep up with fast action movies very well. I like that it has a sleep timer, as I almost always fall asleep watching TV. This has all of the bells and whistles and also sports Bluetooth connections to your phone. As a YouTube TV subscriber, I appreciate that this is so integrated with the television. The resolution is amazing. I wish I that I had one of these for each room.

Low price is not remotely worth the hassle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 3 years of use (Sept 2020 to now) I would emphatically recommend against getting a Hisense TV. I purchased one because it was suggested as a high-value buy, a quality LED TV for a lower price, but have had issues since opening the box. The good first: the picture is pretty nice and it has a sleek yet sturdy look. Now the rest. Right away the TV was confusing and slow to operate—very stuttery user interface that is not at all intuitive. I have not used enough smart TVs to know if this is a problem with all models working off an Android TV operating system, or if Hisense's instance of it is particularly buggy. Furthermore, right from out of the box any troubleshooting was difficult because Hisense's support articles are badly written and the information provided often does not match what is shown on my screen. For example, a support article may tell me to navigate to a menu screen that does not exists on my model. After about a year of regular use with light hiccups, we began to receive repeated storage warnings. It appears the on-board memory/disk is very very small. We had downloaded a fairly conservative number of applications and were not storing any other files on the TV. Nonetheless the TV frequently became inoperable due to this issue. Hisense support was not helpful, and it took much independent research and troubleshooting to determine that an external USB had to be connected and kept connected permanently to be used as auxillary memory. This solution had to be found on social media sites, Hisense's support articles and phone customer support were not helpful. Over a year and a half more of use, issues connecting to wifi arose and persisted. This is a device in a central room, and multiple other devices in the home have zero trouble connecting to the home network and staying connected. After months of troubleshooting various solutions (power cycling of the TV and router, clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling apps that appeared to be particularly problematic, full factory reset of the TV, installment of a wifi extender that worked fine with all devices except the TV, investigation into wifi signal strength in different areas), turning to Hisense support provided no help. Finding assistance on the internet was either impossible or only suggested troubleshooting methods that had already been tried. Hisense phone support provided no other methods for troubleshooting or possible diagnoses for the problem, insisting that the only solution was to turn the TV in for servicing. I wanted to give this TV a chance, because I am comfortable having to figure out the quirks of a haphazard UI and squash a few bugs if it means getting a quality TV for much less than other brands. After 3 years of use I can confidently say the headaches and spoiled movie/game nights and hours spent seeking support are not worth the discount. Find another brand.

Greatest Value TV in the Market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is one of the best value TV's in the market along with the rest of the Hisense lineup. The quality you get for the price is unbeatable at regular price and if you get it on sale it is even greater value. The HDR is great when watching movies and being able to adjust the motion clearness for sports make this an all around great TV.
