Awesome TV

It's fine, except broke after 4 years.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wouldn't buy it again. Only had it 4 years and it just died. Otherwise it's fine. I bought it for it's low latency to use as a big computer monitor... I like the TCL 4 Series for this better, but the HG8 is a much better television (the picture looks nicer)... For a simple tried-and-true I'd get the 4 Series, and for something special I'd spend more on something else.

Hisense 50" Class H8G Broken 2.5 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this tv in December 2020, now in June 2023 it is already broken. The panel is fine there is either a broken network card or the internal SSD is corrupt. When it comes on it lags really bad and the screen will go black and you will have to restart it a couple times just to get it to turn on. The Google smart tv interface is unusable, I plugged in a 4k Chromecast and can switch over to that(sometimes without restarting) but it's extremely slow to do so and while watching Hulu on the Chromecast it will crash at random times as well. I will get notifications that I'm running out of storage space, but I uninstalled every app except for Hulu on the Hisense tv, and I used the clear cache and the memory optimizer tool that had no affect. it shows over 2gbs free but will still give me the running out of space notification and will crash after that. That's what makes me think it's a corrupt ssd/hard drive.

I warn you against buying a Hisense!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV in 2020,it is now 2023 and have decided to but a new TV. The Hisense did not break. The reason is because I have been having multiple persistent issues with this TV. Every time I went to support for help they were either completely unhelpful or flat refused to help me. Add on the fact that their software support for their TVs is very poor. The TV itself, for the price I paid at the time I paid it, is fine. But now looking back I would have spent more money for a better TV. I urge you to do the same. The reason why LG, Sont, and Samsung TVs are so much more expensive is because not only are their TVs are great but it's thier software, support, and warranty, compared to Hisense. You really should take all that into account when you think of buying a Hisense. I learned that lesson. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Wish I could've given it 0 stars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this tv for about a year now and this is by far the worst tv ive owned. Picture quality is good but with only 2 streaming apps downloaded I quickly ran out of memory, the tv itself runs extremely slow and regularly freezes. Not to mention the tv randomly unpairs from the wifi and instead of having a keyboard you and operate with the remote you have to pair your phone with the tv just to type in a password and that doesn't even work 85% of the time. If I could give this tv 0 stars I would. Save yourself the headache buy a different brand because this tv is terrible

Great until Hisense bricked it with an OTA.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked great for four years, then an OTA firmware update bricked it with no recovery possible. Boots, but OS is junked into a f&ckloop. If you have one that still works, turn off WiFi.

Don't throw you money away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had issues with this tv since the day I bought it. Constantly having to force close apps and clear the cache in order to get anything on the tv to work. Today, it just died. Not the black screen of death, it just won't turn on anymore. The power outlet and cables aren't the problem, it's the tv itself. It's lifespan was just 10 months.

Consider a different brand
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv has been a huge problem. It freezes all of the time. I have had to reset many times, and unplug for ten seconds and then plug back in. Spend the extra 100 and get something better. This has been a purchase from hell. I bought this to in July and the problems just get worse.
