POOR Customer service from Hisense

The TV was nice - easy setup using my mobile phone, easy to navigate, great picture - for about 2 months. Now it won't turn on/off or show a picture except for an elusive error screen that pops up at random times for a few seconds. That's all not too big a problem since it's still under warranty, right? Wrong. I believe I'm communicating with China because they reply to me at 2:00 am every night which means that each back and forth in our conversation takes 24 hours. Again, not that huge an issue - I understand how the world works. But they're not reading my messages or clicking on the pictures I'm sending - they're just repeatedly claiming that the images are wrong or have bits cut off. The THUMBNAILS have bits cut off. Why can't they actually click on the file and view the whole thing? VERY poor customer service and no way to escalate.

You can find other professional reviews online that rave about this model...I'm really glad I continued my comparison shopping before making a final purchase. It's true that the color reproduction out of the box isn't perfect, and I recommend spending a bit of time with calibration screens/videos/audio to get the unit performing exactly like you want for your space. The Android TV interface is very snappy, and setup via your mobile device is fast and easy. Considering the included features and overall quality of this unit, it seems like it should cost twice as much as it does. This has to be one of the best budget-friendly large TVs out there.

I must say for the price and gaming/movie watching there is absolutely no better value. The smart features located on the remote are easy access and have a quick resume feature ( bout 2 seconds ) to get into Netflix or Amazon prime video.
Pictures looks crisp and cleans. Whites are super white and the blacks are deep black. Needs to be put into Game mode with Enhanced HDMI format for best quality.
Absolutely amazing value and the support from them directly has be fabulous. I Own The 55 Inch Model

If you're ok with turning off some of the less than spectacular features (local dimming, fluid motion, etc) you are left with an amazing 4k HDR TV/Monitor. It does 4:4:4 4k @ 60Hz and thus makes for a nice, big PC Monitor. AndroidTV is great, and lets you install apps like emulators and game streaming services that turns this into an unbelievable value. Not sure about the reviews stating slow Android response/fluidity. Maybe there's been a software update because it runs really well for me! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 50" version for the $350 I paid. Would buy again!

This is an excellent tv that swings way above it's weight class. The colors are crisp it has full array local dimming and it is very smooth (I'm crazy sensitive to judder). I also have a Sony 850d that cost $2400 new and this tv blows that away. Granted a new mid/high tier Sony would be harder to beat as that tv is a few yrs old but it's still impressive. This is such a great bang for your buck that when my 65in Sony kicks the bucket I will seriously consider a Hisense to replace it and I'm an admitted Sony fanboy.

This was a gift for myself. I Love It. I did some research on Hisense 50” TV’s and compared to several popular named TV’s. Well this Hisense Quantum 50” is very good. Very Clear picture, great sound and easy to hook up and use.
I bought this through My Best Buy’s online site. It arrived when they said it would, package was in perfect shape. Directions easy to follow.
Football Games (Super Bowl) and crime dramas will never be the same. I have always found my purchases from My Best Buy to be very affordable. Thank you Best Buy

This is a fantastic tv. I decided on this tv for the price to performance as a pc monitor. I also have a LG OLED. Now no it does not look as good as my LG but there are many places where they are kinda close. When you consider I can 4 of these for the price of 1 OLED. The G9 is an even better tv but the up charge for what I felt were few features or a little better quality. I am more than happy with my purchase and one this one no burn in!

This tv truly blew my mind with its truly incredible color, how deep and dark the blacks were and how vibrant the rest of the spectrum was. The combo of price for this normally crazy expensive variant of tvs(other Quantum Black UHD Tvs run $1000 or more!) Along with the unexpected surprise of it being a TRUE Android OS Tv make it a stealth Flagship Name Brand TV slayer.

Might want to Steer Clear of Hisense...

I ordered the Hisense 50" 50H8G to replace a television (Vizio) that was over 10 years old. There was nothing wrong with the TV except it wasn't a smart TV. I wanted a smart one because we were moving the TV into another room. The television was great while it was working. The only issue I had within the 4 months was the frequent disconnects to the WiFi. It was an easy enough quick fix that it didn't bother me too much. Then one day (out of the blue) the television wouldn't power on. I tried all of the possible fixes from Hisense support as well as any Internet support I could find. Nothing was working so Hisense support setup a ticket to have a Technician come out (took about 2+ weeks).
The technician was nice and he eventually came to the conclusion that the TV needed replaced. One week + one day later, I received a new TV. Just my luck, when I turned it on, the screen looked shattered. It was kind of a cool image, but nothing else was happening.
I contacted Hisense again and stated my case. I am assuming it's going to take another 2+ weeks for a technician, and then another 1+ week to get a replacement. The worst part about this is that Hisense doesn't take the TVs and neither does the technician. It's your responsibility to get rid of them. That's like $50 at the recycling place, Two TVs @ $50 each to recycle. That part makes me mad.

lots of big brand tv's sell their models at much higher price points. This TV provides numerous features found in the higher end models at a lower price point. The picture isnt as good as a Sony but its not that far away and most people will be shocked to see how much better the picture quality is as opposed to a mid level Samsung. Android TV and Dolby sound make the TV extra special at this price point

4K Tvs came a long way from 5-6 years ago. Back then, 4K tvs costed around 1000 when the technology was relatively new in the market. Im a huge SONY fan but i didnt wanna spend around 900+ dollars on a TV when there are cheaper options such as this one. I dont have a flagship TV to compare this to but this TV has amazing color and the HDR is way better than the budget samsung and lg options.

I have both the TCL 6 series and this Hisense H8G. Both are Quantum dot 4K TV's. The H8G was easy to set up, has a very bright picture that you may need to change to a night mode to tone it down. It would have no issue being installed in a bright room. The details are very good. The colors at times I believe is a bit off / unnatural such as skin tone. The TCL is better in accuracy. This Hisense is high value for the $. Don't let the brand name deter your decision. The pros agree.

Bought this when my 12 year old Samsung gave out. Didn't want to spend a ton of money since I live in a rural area and true high-speed internet is non-existent.
I was pleasantly surprised at the picture quality and the TV's ability to process and enhance lower res images really impressed me. Saturation, brightness, and evenness of the backlighting are good with no weird effects or lines.
Sound quality is quite good with a decent built in mixer and pre-set listening modes.
Android setup was super easy and quick using my Android phone.
It has plenty of ports and good connectivity, One complaint, and it's a minor one, is that most of my connections (HDMI, OTA antenna) are on the left side of the TV but the power plugs in on the right side, making for an array of cords that could otherwise be bundled together. If you use the stand, or go to the trouble of burying all your cables in the wall,on Ebay after the fact even though I was reusing my old wall mount. Everything worked out okay though.
Picked up this TV on sale at BB and for the money, I'd have to say it's a helluva deal. I give high marks to Hisense. They build a really good product at a great price.

I own a Vizio m-series quantum 50 inch but my sis bought this model also 50 inch.. I installed and calibrated her tv..It is solid but not as good as my Vizio..In short the colors are deeper and more vivid and clarity also better..I read good things about the speakers on this tv and are slightly better than average..Again the Vizio is 20 watts to this sets 10 watts and the surround much better..I will give a nod to this set for apps..But i use a fire tv so not much of a matter for me..For the same price go with the Vizio..Oh i see Best Buy just knocked off 50 dollars on this set..I still would go with the Vizio

I bought the Hisense 50" H8G tv. Amazed by the quality. HD Arc works very well with Visio Sound bar. The darkest scenes are somewhat vivid. 4k quality with streaming Netflix movies is great. I researched and compared this tv with others and am happy I bought the product. Each to install. Liked the cable management on bought legs of stand.

Really love the size and quality of this 4k television. Didn't want to break the bank with my first 4k tv, so this seemed like a sweet deal. Was not disappointed with the results. The android UI is very snappy and the blacks are really solid. Another high point for me is how bright this television gets. Overall, well pleased with my purchase.

There is not much to complain about with the Hisense H8G series. While not many people may know the brand, this a set that offers a lot of features at an affordable price. What really makes this TV is the fact that it includes Android TV built-in. You’ll get the benefits of the Google ecosystem without having to purchase or connect an additional streaming box. I currently have this TV on a mobile stand so I can move it between rooms and all I really have to do is plug it in. Everything I need is available on Android TV: Netflix, Vudu, Amazon Prime, CBS, HBO, Google Movies, Hulu.
One of the coolest things about Android TV is it is basically the same operating system you find on your phone so you also have access to a lot of the same apps and games. I was able to pair some Bluetooth wireless headphones and an Xbox One controller to play a few games directly on the TV. The performance was about the same as any budget Android phone. The TV comes with what looks like about 5GB of storage and you can expand that by adding USB drives if you wish to add more. There are 4 HDMI inputs that all support 4K @ 60hz, RCA input (red/yellow/white), 2 USB A ports, Ethernet, coaxial input (for antenna or cable), headphones out, and optical out.
The picture quality is superb, it is not OLED or anything but it is easily better than my 6 year old and larger LED TV that I paid 6x as much for! The TV can play content that is 4K/60p as well as decode Dolby Vision or HDR10 for HDR and Dolby Atmos for high quality sound. For HDR you need high brightness and this TV can do about 700 Nits, which is actually really good. This is a TV that would work really well on a patio or where there is a lot ambient light. There are certainly TVs that get much brighter but are also much more expensive. There’s not really much to say about the 4K resolution. It’s pretty much the standard resolution these days but it is remarkable how affordable it has become. I really enjoyed watching some original content from Netflix like the Witcher which is provided in 4K with Dolby Vision.
I was able to use this as a display for my racing simulator which outputs 4K/60p. I was curious to understand how the Motion Rate 240 feature works. There are a few settings in the menu that control motion but flipping through them I didn’t see anything noticeable while a fast-paced race was occurring. Everything looked sharp and fluid though so maybe it’s just automatically enabled. Another benefit you’ll find on this TV that used to only be reserved for premium is the full array local dimming. This simply means the TV can keep bright parts of the image bright while dimming others, thus dramatically improving the contrast ratio. There is some slight blooming but that is to be expected at this price and overall I’m very impressed with the quality of the FALD.
The only downside I really have is it’s not as thin as some TVs on the market with a max width of about 3” but that should only matter if you were trying to put it completely flat against a wall.
Pros:
Dolby Vision (HDR)
Wallet-friendly
Android TV Built-in
Dolby Atmos
Bluetooth
Light Gaming
Expandable Storage
Thin Bezels
Cons:
Not as thin as pricier brands
Overall this is an excellent TV that is friendly on the wallet and I recommend to anyone looking for a 50” size. There’s honestly not any reason to spend more!
