Bought the Hisense 50" smart TV and when we got it home and turned it on the screen was shattered. Brought it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for another Hisense and that TV was also damaged. Ended up buying a TCL 50" SMART TV.

Vibrant QLED Value with Smart Fire TV Features

The Hisense 50" QD6 Series QLED Fire TV stands out as a solid value choice in the crowded 50-inch TV category. With QLED technology and a VA panel, it delivers impressive color accuracy, covering around 92% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and deep contrast ratios (~7,500:1), making it a great option for movie nights and vibrant streaming content. It supports a broad range of HDR formats including HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and even Dolby Atmos for richer sound. Though it maxes out at 60Hz with no VRR, it includes Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), offering smooth performance for casual gamers and sports viewers. While its brightness isn't class-leading (around 400 nits peak), it's more than adequate for most living rooms. I pulled all this from Hisense's website in the specifications section for this particular tv and made sure to highlight the commonly compared features. Compared to other Hisense models like the A6 Series, the QD6 steps up with better contrast and more vibrant picture quality thanks to its QLED panel. It even competes well with slightly higher-end models like the QD7N, trading off some brightness and HDMI 2.1 features in favor of stronger native contrast. Against brands like Vizio or TCL in this price range, the QD6 holds its own thanks to its rich feature set and superior smart platform experience via Fire TV. The Fire TV integration is seamless and snappy, offering voice control through Alexa, intuitive navigation, and access to all major streaming platforms. Reminder, you do need an Amazon account to benefit from the majority of this TV's smart features. In terms of design, the QD6 Series features a clean, modern look with slim bezels and a sturdy build. It includes three HDMI ports (one with eARC), Bluetooth 5.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 5, giving it solid connectivity options for today’s devices. While it's not aiming to be a premium flagship TV, it doesn't cut corners where it matters for mainstream users. The inclusion of Dolby Vision and Atmos at this price point—often under $300—is impressive, especially for users upgrading from older 1080p sets or basic 4K panels. This TV is best suited for families, budget-conscious streamers, or anyone who wants vibrant picture quality without diving into higher-end pricing. If you're not a hardcore gamer or demanding cinephile but still want premium picture formats, voice integration, and a trusted smart platform, the Hisense QD6 is an easy recommendation. It's a strong mid-tier performer that punches above its weight in features and value. Bonus use could be an additional oversized external computer monitor for those looking for a large, high resolution display.

After doing some research on this product before and after getting it I have come to this conclusion It's an absolutely great TV the picture is clear as can be. Sounds great and clear to me even being deaf in one ear. there are a few thing that anyone from first time buyer needs to know which I actually am before you even turn the TV on hook up an either net cord from your router if you have one or to your modem so it is connected to the internet as the WiFi will not connect even with your password. It took me ten mins to realize this because every TV that I have own has picked up my WiFi instantly you needs to do this so the Fire TV software downloads before anything. The setup was just as easy as any other smart TV the pros are easy setup once the software and firmware has been downloaded, lightweight that even I can pick it up at 66 years of age. the only con that I have for an issue is the fact of this once the software and firm ware have been downloaded and installed I tried to setup my sound bar system to it which works great and was easy to do but now when I ask Alexa to switch from the loading screen she tell me that she can't do that and to check the input on the TV after doing that (which it shows both in the setting of the fire TV side and the TV setting ) seams to point to either the firmware or the software for fire TV and that my friends is the only reason for my giving 4 stars and if it was for that it would be a 5

    Impressive entry-level TV

This Hisense 4K TV is impressive as an entry-level model and a geat step up from the 40-inch class 1040p LCD TV that it’s replacing. It’s set up in a small living room at a viewing distance of around 6’. As a pretty basic user, I found the picture quality to be more than adequate. Blacks are black enough. There are no obvious color problems. Viewing angle at 6’ is adequate for a regular sofa, although viewers seated on the ends (2-3' off center) will notice lower contrast. I’ve no complaints regarding resolution and refresh rate. It’s a decent entry-level TV for gaming as well, but only if you’re not pairing it with the latest consoles capable of pushing out 120Hz with ray tracing and all the quality settings turned on. If that’s your thing, you're not looking at this TV anyway. For everyone else, there is serious value here. Audio is definitely not the worst I’ve heard, but it’s barely adequate. Had I not already owned a basic receiver with bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer, I would at a minimum want to pair this TV with a decent soundbar. Hisense’s product page has an image claiming there’s a built-in subwoofer. I’m not sure if this image was meant only for the larger TVs in this product line. If there really is a subwoofer, I’m not hearing/feeling it. The UI is easy enough to understand and operate, however the quick start guide provides zero guidance on the TV’s many picture-related settings, and as of the writing of this review, there isn’t a manual available on Hisense’s website. There are many settings to go through if you want to optimize the picture quality, such as Filmmaker mode, local contrast settings, super resolution, motion effects, etc., and it would be nice for these to have been thoroughly explained in a manual. Instead, you’ll have to do a lot searching online. I’ve never owned a Fire TV before, so I was worried that the smart platform would require logging in with my Amazon account, which is something I did not want to do. I’m using an external streaming box connected via HDMI as my primary smart platform, so I don’t need the Fire TV features. I was glad to discover that there’s a “Basic” experience that does not require logging in. Another related issue is Amazon’s collection of user viewing data within the Fire TV platform. Even in the Basic experience, all of these permissions are granted by default, so if you want to prevent your behavior from being shared with Amazon, you must go into privacy settings and turn them all off. For me, the only remaining smart TV issue is regarding the sunsetting of the hardware and what happens once Amazon stops issuing security updates. It’s something I still must research, but I hope Amazon has sorted this issue out so that the TV can operate indefinitely in dumb mode once it is deemed end of life. One complaint I have is that, as far as I can tell, there is no true power off, only sleep. If you want to power down completely, you’ll need to cut the power at the plug. A positive is that the TV comes out of sleep almost instantly while boot up from a powered off state is slow (up to two minutes in my experience). Hisense probably did not include a power off option because of the likely complaints a really slow boot would generate, but power off should be there regardless, especially for times when users will not need the TV for extended periods. In sum, this is a great entry-level TV. (Even so, get a soundbar.) It’s frankly amazing what you can get in this price range these days.

Hello friends and welcome to my review of the new Hisense 50" QLED. The fine folks at best buy delivered this beauty right to my door! I do own a truck, but door delivery is just fine with me. With that said let me elaborate on the TV. First of all this is a true QLED, so light control in your viewing room is important. However I personally think that even in a bright living room I had zero issues watching. I did not think that the screen looked weak or dim during the brightest parts of the day. Yes it looks better in a dark room. To me Hisense found something a little extra for the screen, and put it to good use. This makes the TV a great value you could put it in most any space in your home and get great picture quality. Next I want to take just a minute to talk about the looks of the Hisense. I really like how small they have managed to shrink the bezel around the screen. It is tiny and gives what appears to be a larger screen than it actually is. Also who likes big bezels anymore? The audio from this new Hisense is surprisingly good for TV. Almost every other TV i have tested needed an external speaker. Just due to how tinny and harsh most of those little speakers are. Once again Hisense stepped it up and gave the TV a speaker worthy of listening to. So if you have no extra space or don't have enough cash for a external speaker this TV will still perform for you. The only small issue I had with this unit was that it has a nightlight on it that is on from the factory. This can be disabled by going into the settings and toggling it off. However this feature is buried deep in the menu, just dig around and you will find it. Overall, The new Hisense QLED is awesome, It has the amazing picture of a QLED and very few of the drawbacks. QLED tech is getting better every year and this is a prime example of how good it can be. A nice budget TV for anyone needing an indoor unit. Highly recommend!

Great Entry Tv for an Extra Room

The Hisense 50” QD6 is a QLED entry level 4k television. The LCD panel is directly lit from the back with a refresh rate of 60Hz. You can upgrade the motion rate to 120 with included technology. What does it support? 1. Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG 2. Wireless 802.11ac 3. Bluetooth 5.0 4. 3 HDMI 2.0 (HDMI eArc, HDMI CEC) 5. 1 Ethernet 6. 1 USB 2.0 7. Digital Audio Out 8. VESA 200x400 9. Dolby Atmos 10. Fire Tv (OS) with Alexa The TV measures 44.1’x 27.6’x10.8’ (with stand) without its only 3” deep. I used this tv to test on Movies and Video Games. 1. Gaming testing was limited to COD, DOOM and Madden. These games are demanding and were tested on both PS5 and XSX. First the HDMI 2.0 kind of limits some options, but general testing showed that the TV does support HDR gaming and Dolby Vision but won’t go beyond 60Hz so no 4K 120Hz. Additionally, no VRR or 1440P. This also means no downgrade to 1080p/120Hz either in case you wanted to use it as a PC monitor. HDR did look great with colors being accurately replicated on screen and no noticeable bleed or washed out from the backlit panel. Madden looked amazing, but the TV held back from it reaching its full potential as some blur was evident. COD was fast paced and clear in warzone and MP. Doom was an outlier as the blur in the game coupled with the 60Hz limitations showed itself at times but nothing that made it unenjoyable. Summary on gaming performance I found that while the low input lag was evident, the motion blur was evident at times when on screen action became intense. 2. Movie testing, I used Godzilla and Avengers for the wide color profiles and fast faced action scenes. The contrast is evident in movies and when you add HDR you can notice pops in the color. I wish it could really pop the deep blacks and reds a little more at times, but for this price point its great. In Summary, the Fire TV is great especially since I buy and rent most of my movies from Prime. The TV slides into my smart home setup and the integration of Alexa allows me to pull up all my ring cameras and use voice features to switch to shows and programs quickly. While the Panel is on the lower end of this lineup, it’s great for mild gaming and movie watching. It won’t be the center piece movie experience in this range, but Hisense offered a great product at the price point.

The Hisense 50" QD6 Series 4K TV is a remarkable product that combines impressive performance, user-friendly features, and excellent value. The packaging was top-notch, ensuring the TV arrived in perfect condition. Setting up the TV was seamless thanks to the clear and detailed instruction manual, which included step-by-step guidance with helpful images. The TV also comes with pre-installed screws for both freestanding and wall mounting, making setup even easier. The OS system is incredibly easy to configure, with a simple interface that allows for quick navigation. Streaming content through Wi-Fi is hassle-free, and for those with spotty home Wi-Fi, the TV includes an Ethernet port for a hardwired connection, ensuring a stable and fast internet connection. One of the standout features of this TV is its performance. The picture quality is sharp and vibrant, with excellent 4K resolution that makes every scene look stunning. The audio is crisp and well-balanced, providing an immersive viewing experience. Additionally, there has been no lagging or buffering during my time using the TV, even when streaming high-definition content. The TV is also fully compatible with a variety of devices through HDMI, allowing you to easily connect gaming consoles, TV boxes, and other external devices, expanding its versatility for all your entertainment needs. The included remote is convenient, featuring Alexa voice control for easy operation and four pre-programmed buttons for quick access to Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Music. It also includes all the general buttons for volume, channel changing, and other essential functions, making it simple to use. The Hisense 50" QD6 Series 4K TV also offers the flexibility to watch over-the-air channels with an antenna or stream content via Wi-Fi, HDMI, or a TV box. Overall, it’s a high-performing, versatile TV that provides excellent value. I highly recommend it!

I've had previous long term experience with a Hisense 55 inch tv and for the most part it was a good television. However, during the last two of the six years of ownership, that television was delaminating from the frame and bleeding backlight. This was solved by placing black duct tape carefully on the edge to lessen the bleed. Unfortunately one evening two weeks ago, the entire panel delaminated from the frame crashing to the table below causing the whole display to rip and to render the tv useless. I'm not sure if this is indicative of Hisense quality or not. This television is slightly smaller and the colors seem vibrant. The remote has been reworked over the past - not a good or bad thing - still not as good as a Roku remote in layout. Setup was interesting. As I was installing the tv on a wall swing out mount, I only installed the power cord and then had to swing the arm out to install the other HDMI connections and wired connection. If I was installing it on the ground facing the back, the labels are very clear. Try installing the cables blindly with the writing facing the wall without the print being on the area above the connectors! You cannot see - nor when your arms are reaching up, it is nearly impossible to just slide the cables into the location. Thankfully the manual had a printout of the layout for this tv and I just had to use that as a guide. The white print should have been also above the connecting area. I cannot imagine trying to lift up a tv with all of the cables installed on the ground and then getting it onto the swing arm. Bad design for labels. I hope this television is not a disposable one - I've also purchased two 50 inch Hisense tvs for my Mom's house and the first lasted three years. The second one is on year two. We'll see. If you are on a budget, this is a decent TV if you need one in a hurry and can't save up for a better one.
