Can't turn off motion smoothing/soap opera effect

The picture quality is great.... but for those that despite frame interpolation (aka motion smoothing aka soap opera effect) - on the 50" version (maybe others, not sure) of this TV there is no way to turn off motion smoothing for 24 Hz or 30 Hz sources (like TV shows and movies) when using the TV's built in Android TV apps. This is the only TV I've ever owned that doesn't have the option of turning on/off motion smoothing. It's ridiculous and I hope they can fix it with a future software update.
HOWEVER, if you use an external source like an Apple TV or Fire Stick that has the option of turning OFF "match original frame rate" then the source will send in 60Hz video WITHOUT frame interpolation (i.e. 24 Hz or 30 Hz content is output at 60Hz without creating additional interpolated frames in between the original frames) and the TV will display it without any smoothing. YAY!!!

No this isn’t a flagship tv. I see reviews on how its lacking motion blur or sound quality is bad. Firstly almost all tvs have horrible speakers getting a sound bar will solve that. This is currently by far the most feature rich budget tvs on the market as of 2021. The blacks are deep and no bleeding. The colors are rich and vibrant. If you want a tv thats cheap, amazing picture (in this price range) very feature rich this is a great tv hands down. But if you want “motion blur” and are looking for the best of the best you need to fork out another $600-$1200 (depending on size) this tv is the best all around tv for the avrage family looking to game on, watch tv or movie have night.

I purchased this TV to be used as a monitor for a Xbox Series X; it had a great price point and all of the HDR formats I was looking for. I have zero issues with the picture during game play. If I had one, I wouldn't say complaint, but where TV is not on par with more expensive TVs, is the execution of smart apps. At times they will crash and are slower to execute.

I've heard that Hisense sometimes has quality control issues, but no such issues were present for my ug6. It's quick, colors are beautiful, works great with additional hardware/consoles, has some good preset options for different viewing modes. Checks all of those boxes.
I was not expecting it to be as bright as it is!
It's a great midrange 4k tv with quick refresh rate. No complaints.

It's not the greatest Smart TV but I can say it's up there with the big branded ones when it comes to quality of the build and especially the quality the display projects. I got this for our bedroom and it's a perfect size for us.
Video: Yes i will give it a solid 9 of 10 because you get your money's worth plus more with this TV having a 4K or UHD movie quality for this price? Cant beat that!
Audio: Wow I never knew a TV like this would have a solid sound quality. I will give it a 9.5 of 10 because it has a built in Dolby Atmos speaker and a somewhat surround type of audio which is again a steal for the price.
Total: You can compare this with a Sony or Samsung or an LG for the quality of it but fraction of the price. Also it has a built in voice assist so that just gets better.
Cons: since the screen is somewhat a matte finish type when a strong light is hitting it you can see that reflection but not really irritating to notice.

Great picture quality in a bright room, HDR content is less bright / vivid but acceptable for night viewing. I love how quickly the menus and streaming content load and the snappy response from the remote. I prefer the Android TV interface over my Roku TV. Hard to find a higher value 50" class TV for mixed purpose viewing.

About the cheapest you can find 4K TV that supports dolby atmos and dolby vision HDR. So far I’m happy with it but I could do without google on this tv Not that it matters I use it with the new Apple TV 4K. 120hz would have been nice but no big deal for this price

Great addition for the grandmother

Purchased for my grandmother . Exactly what she needed to get her updated from her 12 year old LCD phillips tv. Her biggest complaint was how dark scenes were too dark. Anybody who knows tech. Knows how annyoing that is.
So without breaking the bank and getting the extended warrenty, i was able to secure this nice tv for her to enjoy years to come. Hisense isnt the greatest brand in the USA but in china its amongst the greatest. So they make it more budget friendly for us . The screen is bright , and shes watching much clearer content especislly when she is binge watching netflix . And the dark scenes are a thing of the past.
Is it the greatest tv at this price point ? Maybe , i got it on sale. Are there better tvs? Of course. Does it serve its purpose and is the consumer happy with the upgrade ? Yes. So its a win for me

Built in wifi adapter died within 6 months, so i had to run an ethernet to it to bypass the wifi. Everything else works fine, great picture. Not recommended for gaming due to washed out picture on HDR.

I had an older model that was destroyed by lightning. This newer model is better because it has Android TV rather than a generic smart TV version in the original. The picture and operation are just as good as the one we've loved for years.

Great value and a perfect TV for a bedroom, especially a dark room. Picture looks great. Sound is surprisingly strong, but a sound bar would make it sound better. Android TV is very responsive and makes me want to upgrade my ROKU living room TV to an android/Google system. Recommend buying.

Bought this to replace a Samsung tv that had the display blow out in less than a year... this Hisense tv is better than the Samsung in almost every way, and I have no anxiety about this breaking... I don't think I'll ever go back to paying extra for a brand name...

I purchased this item as a Christmas gift and the recipient couldn't be happier with the picture quality and easy setup. I'm partial to Google OS so it was easy to navigate. Again, excellent price to performance ratio. Highly recommend consideration.

Best budget 4k out there. Has local dining, true 4k with hdr and Dolby vision. Amazing picture for the price. If you are looking for a tv under $900 this is the one. The u8g is an upgrade if you have the dough
