Works great, & even has an optical audio port¹, other than that, I don't have much to say, I mainly bought this after reading an online review² on this being a good tv at the price-range I was looking at. Oh, the tv's speakers suck, but honestly, what tv actually has good speakers; I mean, they sound fine, I just personally don't like them, & I'm eventually gonna get a soundbar, sub, or something to replace them with anyways, so it doesn't bother me. ¹The Best Buy listing didn't mention one at the time I bought this, unsure if it's now updated with the correct information. ²For anyone wondering, I believe it was somewhere on Rtings, unsure of which article though (it's been a while).

So im going to break this review down into different parts. Picture: Amazingly clear picture quality. Only a semi reflective screen so this is great for rooms with moderate or bright lighting. Design: I love the thin and light-weight design which makes for a great tv to manage if you need to relocate it. Smart features: Love the andriod tv integration and built in casting. This tv is really responsive with minimum delay. The ability to load apps to the device is a plus which is perfect to just use your remote instead of your phone. Sound Quality: This is the reason for the 4 star review. The sound quality is poor. Sounds like you are in a large empty cathedral. The sound seems too distant. I'd recommend getting a sound bar or some external speakers. Motion rate.: Motion rate is superb. I've used this with my xbox and switch with no motion delay. The picture quality was super clear and fast. I typically stream my shows and this tv was pretty good with streaming with the only downside being audio quality. A great plus for this tv is the multiple I/O slots. Not too many tv's come with 4 HDMI ports. This allows me to connect my apple tv, PS4, xbox, and nintendo switch with out having to change my connected devices. Voice Remote: The voice remote works well and is responsive when switching between apps. There is a bit of a delay when trying to navigate content within certain apps such as netflix and youtube. Not a fan of the voice features, I'd rather use the navigation keys on the remote. **Update** I contacted Hisense customer support about the sound quality issue and they were able to provide me with some tips on adjusting the sound quality such as adjusting the balance. While it did improve the sound slightly, it was still not optimal but much improved. I decided to connect this tv to a surround sound system.

I purchased this a few weeks ago. AWESOME in my book!! I personally prefer the Standard picture mode because I like saturated colors. Vivid mode is overkill. It is my first Hisense TV, coming from TCL, since Series 1. What made me choose the H8G over the TCL Series 6 was the 700 nits of brightness. This is the better choice in my opinion. I am thoroughly impressed with the dark blacks this TV provides. You Tube has some tremendous 8K video demos to watch that showcase dark blacks. Even though this isn’t an OLED screen, for my taste, it does the job. I picked it up for $500 on sale and, I’d buy it again at that price. I recommend it for those who want a decent TV at a great price!

This was a good buy for me. It didn't break the bank at $511.19 at 55" and the picture quality is awesome and the sound is great(It is on 7 or 8 most of the time and when there is a movie or video that is loe I turn it up to 10 to 12 at the most). I reviewed this tv and others for months before I brought one and the Hisense was my best choice. It has enough of inputs to add whatever you want and I say android tv is the best. The 4k and HDR is great but not the best it can use sone improvements on some other things also but for the price this is awesome tv. So check it out I promise you won't be disappointed.

Hisense H8G vs Sony A8H - Pretty close!

After reading such positive recviews about the Hisense H8G, I purchased the 55" version a month ago. Boy, was I pleasently surprised when I unboxed and set up the TV. The sound is above average, and the picture is terrific! Using 4K content (Dolby Vision, HDR) via Netflix it's hard to believe that there could be a better picture than this TV displays. This is an Android TV and the system is quick, responsive, and has tons of apps and features. I've attached two photos that don't do the TV justice, but it's always nice to have a photo to give a reader an idea of what I see on my end. In fact, I happened to get my hands on an expensive Sony A8H OLED yesterday, and set both TVs up side by side. For $1,200.00 more, the Sony does display some better dark/black details, but to be honest the difference was not great and the relative darkness of the Sony OLED screen (vs the brightness of the Hisense Quantum dots) made that difference even less significant. For my money, the Hisense H8G is a terrific TV and and even better value in the 4K market.

Yes, you read my title correctly. Hisense has come a long way, and it is definitely making a name for itself again. With the sleek, slim and gun metal/black border design, it will catch the attention of your guests! This unit has a gorgeous 4K display. Netflix, Disney+ and other streaming services look amazing and crisp; all thanks to its refresh rate, full array back-lighting, Dolby Vision and HDR that the ULED panel has to offer. The sound is great, in terms of being an integrated speaker. That's saying a lot, because as most of us know, built-in speakers are usually subpar and you would need to go get an external speaker to increase the loudness. But, this speaker will get the job done. And you can even change the sound setting if you are mounting the unit. Who knew that was even a thing? And to tie it all in, the Android OS that runs the magic. The interface is simple and user friendly. You'll feel at home if you are an avid Android user. If not, it will only take you a quick minute to get used to the remote and user interface, but once you get the grasp of it, it's just fluid. During setup, if you are an Android phone user, it will ask if you will like to install apps that are on your phone onto your TV. If you opt out of that, you can always visit the Google Play store to download your favorite apps and games! The TV also comes with an array of connections (HDMI, USB, Composite , Ethernet and HDMI ARC for external surround sound speakers). So connecting your favorite blu-ray player or gaming console will be a breeze. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, all these features for an exceptional value that is very competitive. If you're looking to make a 4K television purchase soon, you will not be disappointed with the quality and rich feature set Hisense has to offer.

the TV is amazing..the first show that was on after installation was Willy Wonka..so bright so vibrant. Its impressive...it took me a while to adjust to a smaller screen..(from 82" to 55") the sound is awesome too..it has an equalizer from music to dialog that doesn't require you to turn the volume up or down. The remote..very easy to navigate between the television and apps. This would be an excellent tv for older people that aren't that tech savy.

I already own several smart devices in my home. From a few light bulbs various media devices, and even a smart watch. This 55 inch Quantum 4K Hisense Android TV was the obvious next step in my adventure. From unboxing it to several weeks later worth of use I do not regret my decision of purchasing this TV. Installation and setup was a breeze. Step by step prompts on joining the WIFI and signing into my account to access my Android apps. I now have all my video apps in one quick and easily accessible place. I no longer have to change between multiple inputs to be able to watch TV, movies, etc.. Audio is simply amazing, but the best by far is the 4K Picture. Even while playing non-4K content, the picture upscales amazingly to fill in the 4K color space. Definition is amazing at 55 inches. While playing true 4K videos, you can clearly see details such as freckles, hair follicles, and threads on clothes. I'm extremely tempted to buy another of these for my bedroom, as long as my wife doesn't see it before I get it hung on the wall.

This tv gives an amazing picture for the value. It gets very bright and it is a very great gaming tv. I play fast paced first person shooters and the frame rate keeps up. My gaming console outputs at 60 frames a second with this tv. On my console of choice it gives all green check marks. The sound is amazing! I have never had a tv that was as loud as this tv. Even on single digits this tv still filled the room with sound. This tv is really worth the price. It has name brand features without the name brand price.

Missnikki17 07/08/2020 06:07  My report Great quality user friendly… 08-07-2020 06:19         I had never heard of the brand Hisense before, but I decided to give it a try because my family needed a new TV. I loved how the TV was packaged with care, including the legs and even the TV remote too! Hisense even includes batteries for the remote which I found was a nice touch. The legs were extremely easy to assemble to the TV base and all hardware was included (minus a Philips head screwdriver) . I personally hate when electronic cords are all over the place and are running all over, but I was so excited to find out that this TV had a wire organizer built into the TV legs. I can simply run my HDMI and other cords down the legs and through the loop and it keeps all the cords tight and organized. As for the TV itself it's so easy to set up! You can sync your Android phone to the TV and on a few taps your phone takes over and everything is synced and set up. The remote is easy to use and easy to navigate too! It has a voice button where you can say outloud what you want to watch and the TV will play it for you. The picture is clear and the sound quality is amazing! I'm beyond happy with my purchase and will continue to follow the Hisense brand in the future!

I am not a fan of Google Play. There seems to be apps available online but you can't get those for the TV. Also, I had to install my Roku to get the apps I already had. The TV, itself is big and really Bright! Great Picture! The sound isn't bad, either. 2 things I really hate. When you turn it on, it takes a few seconds and you think that that you didn't press the remote button correctly. It's like pressing the elevator button several times, thinking it will go faster. The second is that it will drop the image if it is rendering. You will get a message up in the right corner that will say that it is "Optimizing Content for____".

Unboxing: Nothing unusual here, it came in a standard colored box with 2 Styrofoam protectors on top and bottom, and 2 Styrofoam protectors on the sides, and a panel size cardboard protection for the screen and the tv itself was covered with a thin layer of Styrofoam bag to protect it from scratches. In the box was also the 2 piece stand, the guide, the remote control and 2 batteries to operate it, and the power cable. Setting up: Setup took less than 5 minutes after the tv was hooked to electricity, and was very simple and seamless. After the TV was turned on, it would ask you to add your Google account info, and then to choose a wifi or wired network to complete setup and choose your application install. Picture: The TV default setting is Eco mode which isn’t good at all and it wouldn’t let you get the full potential of this TV. Out of the many settings available I found the Theater day mode is the best mode to get the purest picture quality and deep colors among all other settings. You are also able to control other settings manually like sharpness, brightness, white balance to get the best possible picture for your own setting. The TV also comes with Game mode that uses the Motion Rate of 240 to enhance the speed of refresh rate to decrease the lag and it does it very well with all types of consoles. HDR is available on this TV and it will notify you when you play content that is shot using HDR and you will be able to tell how different and great the picture quality is depending on your internet connection speed. The TV has the Quantom Dot color feature that allegedly unlocks over a billion color combinations for better picture quality, this feature is Unique to Hisense and its their way of branding the enhanced picture quality of this TV. Sound quality: The TV features Dolby Atmos sound that you will be able to experience virtual surround sound with content that is designed for it. Sound volume and quality are decent, and like most other TV’s there are sound profiles that you can choose from. One that stood out for me is the Bedroom mode that brings the sound volume, the highs and lows down so it wouldn’t be too loud in the quiet of the night. I found this feature very pleasant and useful. Network connection: I have 4 other smart TV’s, one of them is a $2500 75 inch TV from 2018 and this Hisense TV blows it out in terms of wireless connectivity speed and range. I am using this TV in the bedroom where other devices including my cell phones and tablets struggle with Wifi. This TV has very good wireless connectivity and is giving me no trouble at all and still loads everything very quickly. I still recommend using the wired network if you can because it will give you zero lag and will offer 4K content the best. Inputs: - AV in - Headphone jack - Lan - HDMI 2 (there is four of them) - USB ( there is 2 of them) - Antena - Optical audio out (for sound bars and systems) Interface: This is the biggest feature of this TV as it comes loaded with Android tv operating system. This means that you can download any streaming app available on the Google store. Its also very fast compared to a lot of high end 4K smart TV’s. the menus are very fast, application load time is almost nonexistent. There is a huge variety of apps to download and enjoy. Another great feature is Google assistant which you can enable by pairing the TV with its remote via Bluetooth and the TV will be able to take voice commands from you like your Android phone. The only thing that can’t be done with Google assistant is turning the TV on when its off. Another feature that is built in this tv is Google cast that enables you to cast content from your Android phone or tablet to the TV with ease. The TV is also Alexa compatible, meaning that you can control it and link it to your Alexa smart home devices. Remote: The remote is very good and easy to get used to. It has 4 buttons preset for Netflix, Amazon Prime video, YouTube, and Google Play that saves you from scrolling through the menu to find those streaming services. It also has a Google assistant button positioned in the middle of the remote for easy access. A button to reach the apps to choose what you want directly. Bezel: The bezel size is very decent and almost non existent and I think it’s a great deal for a budget TV like this. Memory: This TV comes with 4 Giga Bites of memory to download apps and use which is normal, but I think all brands should up the memory a little bit and I wouldn't recommend downloading a lot of apps that you dont really use because this will make the TV slower to load apps since the memory is very limited and the more free the memory is, the faster the TV will react. Final Thoughts: This HiSense is a great budget 4K tv with Android TV and it has a very good picture and sound quality. it gives you a lot of control over the settings and the interface is very easy to use and its universal.

I've never owned an Android Smart tv before but have had other tvs I could connect Roku and stream to. I was looking for something that had high quality video and that could work with my technology connected lifestyle. The Quantum 4k meets my needs. It's got a slim design and a crisp clean picture. It was super easy to set up and I'm very happy that I can use various streaming devices, apps and connect to it to make my lifestyle work for me. I feel that I got a great value for the options and features it provides. The 55 inch screen is awesome, the largest I've ever owned, and it works well in my living room without being overwhelming. I would recommend to others.

Pros: Size is perfect for our master bedroom. Picture quality is excellent when viewing from direct angles. Gets very bright to fight reflections and glare. Cons: limited options as far as tuning the settings for optimal viewing experience, can get blurry when viewing at extensive angles. Overall: very happy with what we got for the cost. 4k and hdr are beautiful. Great for movies and/ or gaming. About as good as it gets if you're not looking to shell out over a g-note for something more luxurious.

I used to own a car referred to as a sleeper. Outwardly, it was nothing to get excited about, but under the hood, it had twin 4 barrel carburetors , an engine that was bored and stroked, and the acceleration was explosive. This Hisense TV is a sleeper! It is beautiful to look at with barely discernible bezel surrounding a jet black screen. The TV appears to be all screen. Ah, forget outward beauty, this SMART TV is brilliant. Yes it was packaged well so that unpacking was extremely fast and easy, but setting it up was where it's engineering brilliance really shined. I plugged it in, did not connect my Xfinity cable, just used the remote to turn it on. It promptly recognized my wi-fi network, and led me through activation instructions that were eezee pezzee. I was able to watch AMC, CBS all Access, ABC sports, Fox sports Go, and many many FREE Movie venues such as Prime Video, YouTube movies Tubi, Sony Crackle, Google Play, XUMO,& Discovery, History, A&E, AMC. Of course subscription channels opened instantly (Showtime, HBO, etc.). The brilliance extended to magnificent linkage with my Google Nest products, I have a Google Assistant next to the TV, and they instantly recognize each other and work together. I love controlling my lights, security system, home door lock (no keys), Nest video door bell, home hub max, etc with google, and this TV was a perfect addition working in minutes hand in hand with google assistant. I speak my commands, and the TV immediately goes to the channel, movie, or show. It is beyond SMART TV. Of cause all the brilliance would be for nought if the picture quality were just so so. Yep, the picture quality is superb. This TV was made for 4K broadcasts and true HDR, that is another area the TV shines. But even standard definition is enhanced and looks beautiful. What else? The remote control is simple to use, and goes beyond other remotes with HOT keys. One touch and you are at NETFLIX, Google Play, YouTube, VUDU, Google Assistant. The remote has an excellent built-in microphone for voice control. I also own an iPhone, and I was easily able to communicate and talk with the TV via google assistant and home on my iPhone. I could go on and on about the absolutely incredible lineup of features, but the bottomline is value. I believe Hisense's newest series 8 and 9 are the best value currently available in 4K HDR Smart TVs.
