I have one problem with this tv its ethier to dark or way to bright to the point of hurting my eyes but this could be just me and the menus or a bit slow as is the google speak. However everything else is great. The sound is fantastic looks slim and cool. It has great app selection and lots of connectivity for devices n more. Just falls a little short of GREAT.

This TV had all the features we wanted. The thing we love most about it is the 4 inputs for our Xbox, Roku, and blu-ray player. Most of the TV's we looked at had only 2, like our old TV. Picture and sound are great, too. We are very happy with this purchase.

I must say the picture on this television is amazing. I was very crossed between the 55 inch LG and the 55 inch Hisense. So i decided to purchase the television with the best picture not the one with the popular name. Trust me you wont be disappointed.

Excellent Sound and Picture - Remote not so good

I am moving from a 42 inch "dumb" flat panel tv which served me well, and I wanted to upgrade to a 4k and 50 plus inch tv. I've never owned a "smart tv" so this is an exercise in frustration at times trying to figure out the locations of settings and features. Unfortunately neither the instruction booklet (multi-lingual) was not clear on how to set things up like adding a sound bar. Most of my confusion was that the interface was so different than my old TCL that was straight-forward and logical in organization. What made things worse was the remote - which after using both the old tv's, a firestick, and now a roku was clumsy and I was continually hitting one thing when I wanted to hit the navigation buttons. This made setup maddening and more difficult because just as I found something, I hit a bottom button instead of the navigation button and I had to start all over. The navigation and "ok" button area is squarish, not circular like better remotes. Easy for an adult male fat finger to think you are hitting one area when you've missed the navigation button and instead accidentally landed on bottom row of three buttons! Thankfully I was able to go to Hisense website and downloaded a much more informative instruction manual and settings became clearer. POSITIVES Wonderful picture - and the sound - I was amazed that those tiny bottom speakers that project downwards from the base were so good. I almost didn't botther hooking up the sound bar, but if I wanted to increase the volume for certain movies or music videos, the standard speakers were not enough. They were good, nonetheless for a flat panel tv! This tv has 4 hdmi inputs (one is the HDMI arc) - cable input - I hooked up my digital antenna and it captured 34 stations and the images from over the air were remarkably crisp where the stations were broadcasting high quality video; other channels were pixelated and not impressive, but that was not the fault of the antenna or the tv - just bad broadcasting! TO ROKU OR NOT TO ROKU? I have abandoned the land of Amazon fire stick since they overheat and are undependable; about a month ago I bought a nice roku that had 4k and love it. I was torn whether to try to learn Android tv or not. I had read it is slow and not as good as Roku. So I went with the Roku which works flawlessly as usual and everything is where I'm used to using. OVERALL Nice tv - worked well with wifi that I have - played well with Bluray player once I was able to navigate using the unremarkable remote for the tv. Played well with the Sonos sound bar and also allowed me to bluetooth to my favorite pair of headphones when I need to be quiet for the neighbors! Unit is big (duh!) and weighs over 60 pounds so understand this if you are setting this up by yourself. These aren't awful numbers, just bulky.

Bought this for world cup 2018. So far pictures have been amazing. It's been two months now since I bought it and has been performing great. It has proved to be better alternative to my LG tv that was more expensive but couldn't last for two years.

I had not had any experience with the Hisense brand so i was curious to check this out to replace an older LCD TV in my bedroom. The setup of the TV was super easy. I wanted to use it for a day before I mounted it on the wall and attaching the leg stands was simple. It's a fairly thin tv but all plastic unlike some other brands that add some metal to the frame to make it more attractive and sturdy. Once I got it up on my dresser, I plugged it in and started the setup process. Wifi connected easily and setting up the Google assistant was simple as well. The TV runs on the Android operating system and much of it is similar to my Sony Bravia. Once setup I tried out a few movies on Netflix and Amazon and was really impressed with the picture and sound. I left it on the Dolby Vision Low setting that was the default and the picture looks great with 4k and non 4k content. The sound really impressed me, my old TV was connected to a sound bar but I do not think this TV needs one, unless it's in a living room. The sound on this is perfect for my bedroom, really impressive. The TV also offers Alexa integration which is my preferred smart home assistant. The setup of this was a breeze and I love telling Alexa to turn the TV off and adjust the volume, however this could use some tweaks. Alexa raises and lowers the volume way too high and low, not in small increments. Doing the sleeo timer with Alexa would be nice to have as well as the included remote is meh. The remote is definitely cheap and feels it. it is poorly labeled but I do not plan on using it much, my Apple TV remote will do. I cut the cord months ago and use an Apple TV to watch all of my content, from Direct TV Now, Netflix, Amazon and movies on ITunes. Dolby Vision 4k content looks great. I do feel like the picture is not as clear when viewing from an angle but straight on it's beautiful. My main problem with the TV is the system. When I turn it on, I get a label on the TV saying weak wifi signal. Then it goes away. I also get a weird empty square on the screen for a moment and something else pops up saying live tv. It takes a little while to startup for sure and those labels or popups are really annoying, why can't the TV just start without those annoyances? This really makes the TV feel cheap and poorly made. I also wish the Google Assistant was always on and you didn't have to press the Google button on the remote. I will never use it that way. Ever. Overall, I am very happy with the look of the TV, the picture and the sound, but the weird on screen messages at startup keep this TV from being 4 or 5 stars.

Having never really associated Hisense with televisions in the past, I went into this TV with lowered expectations, especially coming from a TV production background that made me picky about monitors and black levels. I am completely impressed with everything about this TV! Setup was simple. Even attaching the legs was easier than any other TV I've worked with. Getting it out of the box was the big struggle. Seriously. You're supposed to pull it up from the box by the bezels to keep from damaging the set, but there are no bezels to speak of! Be prepared, it will take two people to get it out of the box. The set runs Android TV. Think of it as a 55" Android tablet. You can run Android Apps designed for their TV platform (I'm certain you can sideload other apps, too) and connect peripherals like keyboards and game controllers. There are emulators in the Play Store. Add a Steelseries Android controller and you can play all kinds of classic games. The usual list of video streaming apps is available, too. Picture quality is very, very good. Maybe not quite as good as my higher-end set in the Family Room, but it certainly punches way above it's weight in quality. Respectable blacks, good balanced colors and a sharp picture all come together here and give much more expensive sets a run for their money. On the back are 4 HDMI ports, a composite video port (but no component port, oddly enough), an optical audio out and a headphone jack. Yes, a headphone jack! It's on the back though, so if you wall mount there's no real chance of using it. In addition to WiFi you can connect an Ethernet cable on back for faster, more reliable streaming. Sound quality is excellent for built in audio. The speakers are made by Harman Kardon and appear to have two passive radiators in the back for lower bass. The speakers are loud and full and there are enough ways to tweak the sound through the menus to keep just about anyone happy. I find myself casually watching TV with the built in speakers rather than firing up my amplifier. Odds are most people will be happy enough to not need a sound bar, which will save you a few bucks. Aesthetically the set is a knock-out. Nearly no bezels, minimalist legs on each side to hold the set up (and they're sturdy) and a very small Hisense logo at the bottom. The set is amazingly thin on the top half and then widens out a bit more on the bottom half. It can be wall mounted, and the manual goes into some detail about using the spacers that come with your wall mount for the thinner portion. If you're buying a mount be sure it includes these. My only real complaint is the rather sparse remote. It weighs nothing, has very few controls and lacks backlighting. It does have a mic built in for Google Assistant and for voice searches, and six buttons for direct access to streaming services like Netflix and YouTube and something called TikiLive. While this isn't a high-end set, I would say you're getting about 90 percent of the quality of an expensive TV for half the price or less. I would be more than happy with making this my main set in the Family Room or a really excellent secondary set for the Den or Game Room.

I picked this up about five days ago and replaced an 8 year old 720P LCD TV. Hisense is not a brand that I would typically pick up when looking for a 4K TV, but I've been pleasantly surprised with its performance and features. First, I'm using DirecTV for my cable service and although I have a HD box, this one isn't 4K compatible. The picture however is still crystal clear. I have another 60" TV connected to a 4K box and although there are some subtle differences (darks are better, overall color is more crisp) I'm very happy with the picture quality using the HD box. The other thing that really surprised me is the sound. I am using an HDMI cable for both audio and video and if I turn the volume up beyond 6 or 7, it gets to be pretty loud. There are two small speakers on the rear of the TV that produce some great sound. This also has Google Assistant and Android TV. This is actually a great feature that I found myself really appreciating. I can press the button and ask about weather, sports scores or what channel a football game is on and I can tune to it. I can ask to search for YouTube videos or movies on Netflix. I wasn't really sure what the benefit would be of having Google built-in to my TV, but it is pretty cool. You will definitely need to play with the video settings to get the picture just right for the room you are in depending upon the amount of light you have coming in, but that was pretty easy with the presets. The TV is a bit heavier than I thought it would be and I think my existing wall mount will have to be replaced because even after tightening it to the fullest, the TV gradually begins to lean back because it's bottom heavy. Not that big of a deal, since I can use the mount in another room, but just something to be mindful of. If you are in the market for a new TV, I would encourage you to give this one a try. Not the most popular brand on the market, but it is very well designed TV, with great audio with Harmon Kardon speakers and an overall excellent picture. I would definitely recommend this TV.

This review is for the Hisense 55" 4K LED smart (Android TV) TV. It's a pretty nice looking and thin screen device. The only bulk is in the lower half of the TV that contains the power supply and electronics. While I would have preferred that they distribute the bulk across the entire unit, as it makes on-person holding/moving/mounting the TV more difficult (since you need to grip lower or risk damaging the screen), the thin screen does look cool from the side and I can understand the decision - likely expect this unit will be used with its stands rather than being wall mounted. The picture from the 4K LED screen is great. I watched some HD and 4K content and was pretty impressed. During my viewing, I also was surprisingly pleased with the sound quality of the speakers. They don't beat dedicated speakers, but do a great job. I've sort of become resigned to mediocre sound quality from TVs and soundbars as of late. Android TV works well and the bluetooth remote is pretty cool. The TV can act as a chromecast which means you can stream your desktop/laptop to it or any other device that works. This is pretty cool as I have an Amazon Fire TV and regularly enjoy Amazon content. While I ended up connecting it via HDMI, I have the option to free up an HDMI port. Not that I think it's necessary, this unit has 4 HDMI inputs available! But back to the Fire TV, it too has a bluetooth remote and to my surprise, the Hisense remote worked on it!. So, I can use one remote for both. Now, if there was a way to also control my sound system with that remote, I'd be set! As an aside, my old TV's remote (a roku enabled TV with IR remote) also worked for controlling the Hisense. Having that work out of the box is nice. I don't have to necessarily worry about finding the right remote or firing up a phone app to control the TV. One thing where the specific remote is required is to do voice search. Android TV naturally has the Google Assistant built-in. For media, I didn't find it quite as nice as the Amazon voice search, but in terms of functionality, there's a lot more available as the Assistant is tied to your Google account and so can control everything also tied in, like Smart Home features (lights, thermostats, etc). I also liked that I could get my google calendar and other things through the TV. My first foray with what would become Android TV was with the ill fated Logitech Revue. It was pretty cool and I've missed having those features. The UI actually does still lend itself more to needing a keyboard for power use, but I think I'll get used to offloading that to the Google Assistant. In all, I'm pretty impressed with this TV. Great picture quality, easy to control, integrates well with a variety of other devices, surprisingly good sound if its speakers are all that's available to you. My only gripe was with the need to be careful with gripping the screen to setup on my wall mount, but that's a one-time thing.

I've read several of the reviews for it sounds like people don't understand how to sexist television to fit the needs of their viewing habits. There are many resources available online how to properly calibrate the color settings. What's highly recommend. The spec on the television on outstanding for the price point. I also was slightly put off by the Best Buy sales staff and their biases against the hisense brands which included many inaccurate facts about the technical aspects of the TV.

I've had this TV for about 6 months now and they haven't rolled out an update firmware for the latest Dolby Vision. I've contacted Hisense and they've informed me they are working on it but couldn't say when the update would be released. They black levels aren't very good. I was disappointed that the blacks weren't pitch black. The TV is supposed to have local dimming but it's not that good. The TV is edge lit. Overall it's an ok TV. But I should have bought the M series Vizio Tv instead.

We bought this TV without seeing it in the showroom first (COVID) but we thought it had good features for the price. If everything worked as advertised it would be a decent TV. If you have a soundbar I would not buy this TV. Our older Sony Bravia worked flawlessly with the soundbar but this TV is infuriating. When connected with the Digital Optical cable you cannot turn off the TV sound so there is an echo due to sound lag. The only way to use it is to constantly turn down the TV with one remote and turn up the soundbar with the other. If you try to use Bluetooth as the connection, each time you turn off the TV it forgets the settings. Most of the time you have to scan through all the input settings to find it again and most of the time it can't find it. It seems to lose the pairing and it's time consuming to re-pair. Again, my Sony never had a problem at all. The TV is advertised as having a very fast refresh rate. However, with high-speed movement the images jerk one from one frame to another like it is not able to keep up and missing frames. Anything but smooth. There is a pink hue to the TV compared to the Sony. We are able to adjust it down using the picture settings but then the other colors don't seem right. I would not buy this again.
