This tv is awesome. Very glad I went with Hisense. Pros -Brightness level is one of its strong points. -Sound is actually good. I haven't had it up higher than 10 more than one times because it was too loud. I love the base. -Solid clear picture. I dont have 4k picture, so I cant speak to that. But I'm sure it is great. Cons -Got a little bit of DSE (dirty screen effect). You can see lack of uniformity in lighter colored picture. See photos. Look at corners and sides all the way around. There is also some in the middle of the screen, most noticeably the right middle portion. I may exchange, and this is the only reason the tv doesnt get a 5 star. -Very faint high pitch noise when tv is on. But truly barely noticeable. Only hear it when I'm literally right next to it. If I'm more than a foot away I cant hear it. If I do an exchange, I will update my review. Also this review is based off of a short time of ownership. So I cant speak to durability.

When I brought this home initial reaction is why would you buy a Hisense TV. This Hisense has really changed the game for LED. I own the Sony 930E and honestly I have to say this performs better then my Sony and I paid twice as much for my Sony. the Sony may have better accurate colors but I think the blooming distracts people more on Sony tv versus color accuracy truth is common people don't know what is reference or what the director really intends but we do know that blooming in the black letter box is not intended and this is where the hisense outperforms my Sony and any of their current LED models. the motion in the hisense is just as good as my Sony or better I don't really notice any motion artifacts the only thing is and this could just be my panel but if you are watching dolby vision content the motion won't be as good as any other picture mode not sure why that is but must be mention on this review. Alexa commands needs work don't expect to summon your Alexa to turn on your tv or change volume, change channel, change input etc since it can only turn off tv at least for me but hear lots of people complaining. android tv is just as good as my Sony I don't feel that its laggy it does the job running internal tv apps without getting frustrated. I mainly bought this for gaming in my room and I couldn't be any happier with this TV games look fantastic. this would have been 5 stars if the dolby vision motion was smooth just like all the other picture modes it offers hopefully a firmware update can fix this but can't complain for what I pay $600 for the 55" its not a deal breaker. what I do is force my Apple TV 4K to play in 4k HDR when I want to watch something that is in Dolby vision just to get that smooth motion, but switch is back to normal 4k SDR when the title is just in regular 4k on Netflix.

I am coming from a LG B6 OLED but the H9F is honestly my preferred tv, it produces inky blacks and suffers from occasional blooming and some dse but for 600$ it is a incredible deal! I also bought a 5 year geek squad warranty. A comparison of the oled and hisense

My first thoughts on this piece when I unboxed it were nice thin bezels and tons of inputs. When I turned it on, all I could say is this is a beautiful picture for an LCD panel. Build quality is a bit too plastic-y for my taste but does have a nice "metal" accent on the bottom bezel. There are a few things I look for when buying a TV and for the money, this really hard to beat for what you get. I look for picture quality, smart functionality, overall OS experience and performance, and brightness. Picture Quality. Out of the box, you get a nice picture but once calibrated it REALLY shines. HDR is beautiful and colors pop. My biggest gripe with this display is are the dark corners. They are very Very VERY noticeable and unfortunately unless you are watching a movie with lots of dark scenes will see it. Eventually your eyes adjust and you think it is just filmed with a vignette. The brightness is EXCELLENT for a TV at this price point. It gets as bright as some of the higher end flagship TVs out there. Build and Aesthetics. Overall you get a decent build quality here. This is where they saved money to provide such a great display. The cheap plastic build with metal stand are a nice compromise for this price. Just know they didn't skimp on the display… mostly. It looks modern and minimalistic. There is ONLY 1 button on this TV so don't lose your remote. Unless you have a sound bar, you will not be able to do anything like change volume and such. You can use the app, but trust me just don't lose your remote. The screen is has a glossy finish that works REALLY WELL rejecting reflections. OS and Experience. The OS run smoothly in this TV seems to pack a lot of processing power until you load in apps and sign into platforms. running Android TV 8.0. There are a plethora of apps available on Google Play and you have all the major apps except for Amazon Prime Video. I had to use a third-party app store to get it. I also use a FireStick and a Roku to make this the ULTIMATE bedroom TV. Everything is well laid out and easy to use. Fast and snappy is what you get here. Gaming and Movies. This TV is AWESOME for gaming and excellent for movies. 4kBluRay really shines here. PS4Pro and xBox1x game beautifully in HDR and low latency is a real benefit for this price. VERDICT. If you are all about value for the money, this and one other company out there are the only companies producing this quality of display for under $600. Smart functionality and picture quality are the ONLY reasons you will buy it.

I will not undermine the colors and deep blacks of this TV, it is beautiful. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. After 60 minutes of watching the TV, I started seeing decolored bluish purple dots on the left side of the screen. They are pretty clear and evident, and disrupt the image/video quality. When I reached out to Hisense customer support, they said they couldn't see any dots or problem in these pictures and demanded more proof. The TV also emits a very loud high frequency sound due to the backlight which eventually leads to a headache. Customer support never addressed that issue. My room smells like electricity after a while. I'm disappointed and I will be returning this product. The 1 star is for poor customer service.

The H9F series from Hisense is truly a high end TV for half the price of leading manufacturers. There is an error on the Best Buy site; it lists this TV as having only 2 HDMI ports when it fact it has 4 ports like all good TVs this size should. I don't know about you, but 2 HDMI ports would certainly dissuade me from purchasing. A side by side comparison with my 4 yr old 4KTV ($1300) shows some interesting differences. First, the picture is about 1/10th of a second quicker and more vibrant using standard picture mode on both units to be fair. The colors on 4k movies seem to pop out at you as if it's 3D. The features listed on the box are not evidently adjustable in the menu. It touts 480 motion rate, dolby vision HDR+HDR10, Quantum Dot wcg; none of these monikers are listed in the menu, but the features are there just with their commonly referred to names. Hisense also provides you with a way to calibrate the screen to adjust for the room ambiance and lighting. Hint: if you don't want to fiddle with the settings, just scroll down the settings menu to Usage and click Store Mode and prepare to be blown away by the result! Sometimes, I would swear this was OLED tech because the blacks are so intense and deep in contrast with zero ghosting! Speaker output is admirable for a flat panel, along with bass and surround effect, actually negates the need for a soundbar unless you want thundering bass. Having Android TV built-in is a good addition, but having Google Assistant on the remote makes it great. Even if just for not having to scroll a keyboard with the arrow buttons on a standard remote to search something. But really though, it makes setup that much easier; put in your email and it turns into a giant tablet. Sadly, it runs the Android TV flavor and is somewhat limited to the apps available, like AT&T TV for instance. For that, I would still need a settop media streaming device that runs a more standard flavor of Android. Apparently while looking through the settings, I found an Amazon Alexa feature that I didn't know about. Yes, both Google and Alexa built-in; take your pick! I know TVs have gotten cheaper over the years, but I'm pleasantly surprised at the value Hisense delivers with the H9F.

Bought the tv a few days ago before selling out. Overall the image seems good. I've noticed around the corners their is dark spots. Especially in sky action scenes. The smart Android system works well when it doesn't lag. Waiting for it to be in stock to see if I can exchange for a different panel.

Pros: Ease of use and connectivity, Abundant SMART features, vivid color with good blacks, price Cons: Non-screen uniformity in the corners, material/construction quality, standby light I came into some cash and decided that I would upgrade the tv located in my master bedroom from a 1080p to a 4k tv. My current tv in the bedroom is a 4.5 year old mid-tier Samsung smart tv. This was an excellent tv that served its purpose well but as with most electronics, it had become a bit slower relative to my newer tv when using smart features. Over the last few years I have seen the emergence of Hisense televisions on the market and have been naturally curious as they offer 4k televisions at a really good price. After keeping an eye on them I decided to take the plunge and purchase the Hisense H9F television as an upgrade to my bedroom television. As this is not an often used television, I did not want to spend a large amount of money but what to get the best television I could so that it would also last for almost 5 years. When I got the television home and began unpacking it, I immediately encountered some red flags which made me severely wonder about the quality of the Hisense televisions. The tv itself was not contained within its protective bag but rather had it laying against the bag. Luckily, it happened to be on the side with the screen but this made it exceptionally difficult to slide the tv out of the boy and I had horrible hand prints all over the screen. As an aside, the bag it should have been in has handles to make this an easy maneuver. Thought about returning it as I thought this might have been a previously opened/used tv but I ended up deciding to go forward as nothing else seemed out of the ordinary. Assembly of the tv is straight forward and easy to do; fairly intuitive. Once on, you are greeted with a straightforward wizard to set up the tv. As an FYI, as soon as you connect the tv to the network, it will automatically do an update that I could not figure out how to skip or revert. I mention this as others have said that sound and picture out of box where great but that the update resulted in poorer sound and picture. I obviously have no frame of reference. The tv has an abundance of features, following suite like many vendors and making things appear as more app based with a home screen with many app tiles. The more common apps for video are there (Netflix, Hulu) but Amazon Video is missing. It is reported to be coming later in the year. This tv operates from an Android based OS and so you can actually integrate it with your android device. Moreover, new apps are added through the Google Play store giving you access to a fair amount of content. I connected the H9F to my Samsung MS650 soundbar through the ARC without any issues; now my tv automatically controls the soundbar which is exactly what I wanted. The picture on the H9F is bright and crisp. A marked advantage over my other 4k tv comes when viewing dark or black screens; where my other tv you can observe lines where it is effectively dimming differently. The H9F does not have this issue; the screen is much darker and fairly uniform. I use fairly uniform as all 4 corners seem to show darkening when viewing colored content. This is minimal, extending maybe 1-2 inches but is noticeable, last night I felt like one corner had this more extended out but it also could be a result of the Hulu app having a different color gradient after the recent update. A key point is that if you plan to mount this on the wall, you will need a special bracket as the depth of the tv is not uniform throughout, with the base being thicker. I do not wall mount so this was not a major concern to me. Ultimately, this is a nice quality television, especially at this price point. It provides beautiful colors out of the box and is easy to setup. I plan to follow picture calibration settings at a later date but am already very happy with the picture. The thinness and material quality may cause issue for those looking to wall mount it. I cannot speak of how long the lifetime looks to be but based on the price I would be happy if it survived only 3 years

I spent 3 weeks trying to find a store with this in stock and finally did. I really wanted to keep this tv, but I was only able to watch the store demo on the screen before an android update corrupted it and it started endlessly rebooting. Manufacturer sent me an update file that completed, but didn’t help the situation. They wanted to replace the main board. I couldn’t wait, exchanged for TCL 6 Series. The store demo was amazing on this. TCL 6 Series is just about the same quality and way easier to find for an actual purchase.

The Hisense 55”, H9F Series, 2160p, smart 4K UHD TV is quality display on a serious budget. The beauty of this television goes far beyond skin deep. Not only is the Quantum Dot tech with 100+ local dimming zones spectacular, but the glue that brings it all together – Android TV – makes setup & use a real pleasure. I do have to start off admitting that my sample was received from Hisense in a state quite possibly not representative of what the typical Best Buy customer would receive. Upon unboxing this unit, the actual television was not wrapped in the protective bag – the bag was simply hanging over the face of the screen. Upon powering up the television to begin the Android TV setup process, the screen went straight into the Factory Aging Mode. This is clearly represented by a large, red “M” in the upper left-hand corner of the display area against an otherwise ALL white background. The remedy to this and to return the H9F to normal operational mode, enter 8 0 8 7 on the remote control. Was kind of shocked the television arrived in this condition but it was easy to rectify with a little help from Google search. After exiting the aging mode, the television has been fine since. Connection to my home Wi-Fi network was easy and reliable. Once back in ‘normal mode’, I performed a version check and found a software update – that installed quickly. As I had mentioned, the Quantum Dot display is amazingly vibrant & uniform – which is what I would expect from a backlit display that has a zone count exceeding 100. With my Spears & Munsil UHD benchmark disc I was able to verify 120 distinct zones on the 55” H9F. And the Hisense engineers did a phenomenal job of backlight control on this model. Blooming and bleed is very low and probably the best I’ve ever experienced on a non-OLED display. White and grayscale uniformity was also pretty amazing on this television and noticeably better than the lower tiered, H8 series. Color pop is excellent as is edge presentation and overall sharpness. The Motion480 is immediately noticeable on sporting events and Xbox One gaming. Where entry level displays of other competitors, and including the Hisense H8 series, can have some inherent flicker during 4K HDR content – the H9F is free from this type of artifact. Upscaling SD and 1080p content was also solid. 4K HDR Blu-ray disc playback looked fantastic. This television also incorporates a whole host of automatic picture enhancement and power saving features. My personal experience with these types of options on other televisions varies but I can confidently state that the Hisense H9F makes very subtle changes to brightness & contrast using these features – smoother & far from distracting … and much better than I had expected at this price point. From the standpoint of physical attributes, this television has extremely slim bezels all-the-way-around, solidly connecting & functional legs and a fantastic remote control. The closed-loop design of the two stands is much better than other designs. The screen treatment does an excellent job of minimizing reflections and the internal speakers are about average – but certainly not great or full sounding compared to more expensive sets that have better low frequency (bass) drivers. The sound is OK. Contrary to some specs floating around out there, the 55 H9F has 4 HDMI ports. Moving on to the ‘glue ‘that pulls it all together … The Android TV experience on these newer Hisense televisions is akin to something like using a near pure or pure Android OS version on a mobile phone. Two major competitors out of Korea have OSes that incorporate certain levels of Google app functionality but nothing is as smooth & enjoyable as setting up a true Android TV based television with an Android based phone. From the moment you log into your Google account and switch to setting up your television preferences, it becomes immediately clear that Google has designed the work flow of the setup process to be clear, understandable and easy. Within minutes the television was able to respond to inputs from my cell phone – which is a joy compared to using a televisions clunky onscreen keyboard via the remote control – and the process of either controlling the apps inside the TV or casting to it directly from the cell phone was a breeze. IMHO, Hisense made the right choice going ‘full-on’ Android TV. The integration of Google Assistant and Google AI functionality makes navigating the screens, searching for & resuming playback of content super easy. Vudu, YouTube, Pluto and many other apps ran smooth as silk and respond quickly. The processor in the H9F is capable & fast – and there is 4 GB of internal storage too. Another surprising aspect of this television considering the price point… The value proposition of this television is high considering the quality of the image and the overall performance characteristics provided. If you’re in the market for an affordable but performance-based ultra-LED television, be sure to check out the H9F. Pros: Great white/grayscale uniformity, corner-to-corner Excellent ‘pop’ and color presentation 120 local dimming zones in the 55” model Solid upscaling performance for both SD and 1080p content An affordable UHD TV that does Dolby Vision! Minimalist design with thin bezels and solidly designed base stands (feet) Powerful processor and 4 GB of internal storage Smooth, fast and efficient Android TV operating system Easy to setup, especially with an existing Google account & Android mobile phone Cons: My unit arrived in Factory Aging Mode and not completely wrapped in the protective foam-wrap … but I’m still giving this television 5 stars. It’s just that good.

Hisense shaking up the market once again!

A few years ago Hisense shook up the TV market with the H8C and now they're back at it again with the H9F. The H9F came excellently packaged with protection on all the important sides and it was placed in a very convenient bag to pull the TV out without damaging the screen. The included stand legs were very stable but I opted for wall mounting the TV. The setup was a breeze and since the TV is running the Android TV operating system you're urged to sign into your Google account to have a more custom experience. The remote has a built in microphone that you can use to issue search commands or to control your home's smart devices if they're linked to Google Home (note that you do have to pair the controller to the TV before you are allowed to issue voice commands). After signing into your Google account you can then access the Play Store and download more apps. The screen on this TV is amazing for the price! At entry level pricing the Quantum Dot (QLED) screen, wide color gamut, 1,000 nits of brightness and 100 dimming zones are hard to beat. Colors are rich and gorgeous, HDR scenes are beautifully lit and the dark scenes are really close to being true black without spending an arm and a leg. Every input and HDR / Dolby Vision source has their own picture settings so you may want to check your settings each time you setup a new device so that your settings are correct. Viewing angles are great for being a VA panel although local dimming will cause blooming to be more pronounced at extreme viewing angles. The speakers are good for TV speakers and can get very loud. The H9F is very good for gaming as well as it has around 16.0ms input lag which is very low for a TV in this category. There are also a plethora of motion settings for those that like to smooth out their content for that soap opera effect. I did run into some issues with the H9F. The TV speaker sound cut out via HDMI after about 30 minutes, but I was able to fix it by factory resetting the TV. The panel does have something called vignetting which means that the corners are a little darker, but on my set it only covers less than an inch and doesn't really bother me. These weren't that a big of a deal for me to mark down points. I do have some suggestions for Hisense for next year's model and how they can improve it. They should look into adding variable refresh rate (VRR) with the HDMI 2.1 spec which would make this display an amazing gaming TV. They should also look into allowing the TV to display 120hz content since the panel is rated at 120hz but it cannot truly display it. The last thing I would recommend them doing is reworking the VESA holes on the bottom of the display so they sit flush with the top holes and not on a curve as this would make it easier to mount. All in all the H9F is a great television set to consume all of your content as well as for gaming. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the Hisense H9F.

This was a really nice TV in the beginning, and for the first year and a half. But over the last year it has been developing large yellowish-brown spots in areas of the display which are very distracting, especially on lighter backgrounds. It is almost unwatchable at this point. Very disappointing.

I will start out by saying that this tv is replacing a plasma that isn't even 5 years old yet, but has a line down the middle of it. This is my first LED tv, as I've only owned plasmas, and I must say the picture is phenomenal! The color is very bright and vivid, and the sound is also pretty great, especially for being tv speakers! The tv comes preloaded with a ton of the most popular apps. My daughter is a YouTube fanatic, so it was nice opening the app and seeing that since we already signed into google, it already had my YouTube account signed in, and all my daughters videos ready to go. She has used the app many times in the last week and not once had a single problem! The voice control remote is a nice touch. I have it with my cable in the other room and it definitely comes in handy, especially for the kid. There are plenty of outlets on this tv as well, which is nice because we have an Xbox 1 X, blu ray, and Roku player all plugged into this guy. This tv is also much lighter than the plasma it has replaced, even though its 5 inches bigger. It also doesn't pump put heat like the plasma did, which will definitely be awesome on hot summer days, and save a bunch on my energy bill! Probably should have gotten an LED a lot sooner. Great tv for the price, you really cant beat it!

Got this TV about a month ago and I have been very pleased with the amazing picture quality this TV produces. After doing extensive research I chose this set as being the most price practical set that still delivers all the visual features one needs. It has 4K, HDR10, Dolby Vision HDR, can peak over 1000 nits of brightness, and even sustains a decent peak at full screen, and the colors are also phenomenal with the Quantum Dot. Some downsides would be that the local dimming, as there is clouding around bright objects when the rest of the screen is dark, but under most circumstances of content it is no issue, the tv still produces great black levels. The sound quality is also pretty meh, worse than my old Vizio, definitely recommend picking up a soundbar, though I have gotten used to it for now. Only other note, I strongly suggest going to RTINGS website, finding this TV on there, and using their calibration settings as it really makes a world of difference in just how great this set can look. The color depth and bright levels makes viewing this TV a true pleasure. If there are any anime fans looking at this, I guarantee that watching anime with it is amazing. Video games also look and play amazing as the refresh of the tv is nice and precise (make sure game mode of course). I was considering the Vizio M Series for a bit, but honestly people are right about HDR looking best when the tv can reach 1000 nits or higher, it really just makes things pop, HDR is useless without that capability tbh. Even SDR looks great with a brighter set, as I was playing Catherine, just the Magenta text in that game was just so great to look at, colored so deep and popping bright, idk, the simple things. Think that's about all though, I can speak for longevity of course as I have only had it for a month, but here's hoping. I give this set 5 stars for being as great as one can hope for from the price.

Wow. That is exactly what you will say when you see this set in action. I had a Samsung Js9000 before this and the picture on this is better!! I have no idea why Best Buy has the H8 on display and not this set. I'm guessing because if people seen this tv, they would get it over higher priced models. It is THAT good! If you're even thinking about getting this tv, don't hesitate. It's amazing for 600. Motion is amazing. Gaming is amazing. You will not be disappointed.

If you're looking for incredible features at an amazing price then the Hisense H9F series absolutely delivers. The H9F has awesome picture quality with Dolby VIsion HDR and the Motion Rate 480 makes your movies and games look incredible. As you'd expect, the TV supports streaming services such as Hulu, Netflix and YouTube and you can connect input sources via HDMI. It's wall mountable with the VESA 400mm x 200mm standard and features 20 watts of audio from the built in speakers.

So far really enjoying this TV. Android TV Interface pretty basic but gets the job done. Actually surprised the sound is pretty good for TV speakers. Color is fantastic right out of the box. Plenty of settings to tweak to make the picture more to your liking.

Bought from BB. Took home, screen had major flaw, looked like internal cracking/damage, even though surface of screen was smooth. Had to take back, but no store around had another, so had to wait a week. 2nd one we got was fine, pic quite nice, definitely like the Android OS, remote rather plain but functional. Looks good, but I'm a bit concerned about long-term reliability. But I'd buy it again, as I doubt it can be beat for under $700.

I read and looked at several TV reviews before purchasing this TV and eco had great reviews. For the price of this you can’t go wrong the picture quality is amazing. It had everything I was looking for 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos. Also great for gaming. I’m very surprised with Hisense and the quality of this TV.

After over 20 years of purchasing top of the line Sony, and paying the price for quality. The last Bravia 55" I purchased is still working great, was just ready to step up to something newer. Browsing through stor looking at different brands and models, I kept coming back to the Hisense. I originally purchased an H* series, got it home, hated it !! Went online and read reviews from electronics evaluators, packed up H* and returned swapping for excellent H9F. Out of the box, a few settings adjustments, and it is amazing for the price. I already bought one for my son as a house warming gift. While in store purchasing new laptop, saw a Hisense playing behind cashier. walked up and it is newest model only 75" for not much more than I paid for 55". I think it will be from me to me for X Mas !!!
