Crystal Clear!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV. It has great speakers, and picture quality is ridiculously good. Viewing angles are nice, and footage is clean. Watching movies, gaming, anything. It just looks good. I replaced my TV from just last year, and this is a serious upgrade. The price is perfect.

Good TV For the Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, very good television. Image quality was more than acceptable at this price range with outstanding blacks. This unit is running Android TV as an OS and I was able to sideload apk's with no problem. The processing hardware ran smoothly with only a few momentary lags that most would not notice. I played multiple mkv files thru the built in player and VLC with no errors. The U6G's networking was solid and linked with my Sonos Beam with no problems. My only problem was the field of view. In a word narrow, but I was aware of that before purchasing. Past about 30 degrees off axis the screen would start to fade. This was expected and I don't think it would bother most. Also, this runs Android TV. Google is now using it's own reskinned version and calling it Google TV. I don't know how that will affect future updates of the OS.

Man Cave Tv - the U6G is solid
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i have the U8g and knew i would buy the U6g. the HDR10+ and Dolby Vision were selling points for me. I hooked this up to my Denon AVR 750 and this thing sounds good playing from the streaming apps on board. I was bummed that it doesnt offer Earc support, but im already prepared for it when it does. my netflix says that its picking up Atmos but even if im not getting Atmos as truehd, the sounds coming through are definitely fooling my ears. video on the tv is great as well. it shows dolby vision on netflix and hdr10 on amazon. it does not support dolby vision IQ. i turn my brightness down to 45 and it really helps make the contrast look good. this is a real good tv and the Android O/S does its job well. i have a Nvidia Shield running to my Denon AVR and its everything i need it to be for moving watching.

Outstanding 4K TV! Colors Pop! Accurate Colors!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this Hisense 4K 55U6G, BestBuy delivered on time as promised. Now on to my review, it has exceeded my expectations. I read every Pro review I could find and I agree they are spot on with their findings. The blacks are excellent! Colors pop! This model was compared to Sony's X90J which I was gonna buy, but after reading the Pro review and as many online reviews by verified owners I decided to take a chance on this Hisense 55U6G, Not sorry I did! The 4K Dolby Vision is a pleasure to watch! I have this 4K setup in a full 5.1 setup with Yamaha's RX-A2A AVR, alone with Polk Audio's Signature Series line, S60's matching S30 center and the S15's as my surrounds, with a Monoprice 12" Sub, Sony 4K UBP-X700 player, a Audio tech Turntable. Now the Hisense 4K 55U6G is an outstanding value! In the Pro review it had a better (black level) rating than the Sony X90J. Don't believe it me, check out the review yourself. The remote is easy to use. The setup of the tv is very easy Lots of settings and tweets you can change. I've had TVs that cost more that did perform as well as this one does. Do I recommend Hisense and this model absolutely! At the price it's a no-brainer.

Great Image quality, A+ local dimming,
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv has less settings and features compared to the H8G from last year. However don't let that fool you. This TV handles motion/judder better than the H8G that came before automatically without messing with the settings as much. Peak brightness is 600 nits which is 100 nits less than the H8G. I do notice that, however I did have to turn down the brightness on the H8G to get the black levels I wanted. This tv is bright enough for my bright living room that does not have the sunlight shining directly in it. The colors can be washed out at first, to fix that, I have these settings (but each panels are different so YMMV). Backlight local dimming at High, backlight level to 100. Picture mode: Theater day. Contrast 52, Brightness 47, color 49, tint 0, sharpness 0. Advanced settings. Color temp Low, motion clearness off, noise and digital noise reduction at medium, Active contrast set to high, Content auto detection to on, color space Native, Calibration settings set the gamma to 2.4 . Everything just pops now. Compared to the H8G, this TV has better viewing angles, better reflection handling, and most importantly I feel the local dimming is also handled better. You do have to initially set every mode (HDR, Dolby Vision, ETC) to these settings and from there, the settings will save. I have hooked up my PS5 to this TV and picture looks great at 4k60. I do have not tested it extensively. I will update if i see any ghosting. The processor istad slower than the H8G. Apps load slower than from what I remember on the H8g, it is especially noticeable with Disney + application. I did have to return the first u6g i purchased because it was stuck in a bootloop setup. Bestbuy was great and got me a replacement TV at the store. So far this one has had none of that problem. Sound is very good. I do use a soundbar for more bass if needed. Most of the time i find the speakers effecient for regular viewing and it does get loud.

This is a game changer
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After researching TVs for my mom and being a buyer of top brand names I decided to go with Hisense based on AV reviews. Wow this picture quality is as good if not better than my $3500 major brand TV. Great features, easy to setup, great value. This could be the next Samsung.

Amazing TV for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far. So good. Have never bought low cost TV brands before. Bought an entry level Samsung and returned it. Awful picture. The Hisense has been amazing - great contrast, brightness, and picture quality - regardless of price. I checked at Rtngs.com before purchasing and the U6G literally smoked comparably positioned/priced name brand. I canceled an order on a Sony X90 which was priced a couple hundred higher because of the ratings and am glad I did. In fact, I bought a second Hisense U6G for my office. Sound quality also very impressive. Good volume and doesnt need a sound bar in my wall mounted installation. One nit is the bluetooth connection is not ideal w my Bose NC700 headphones. I notice a little popping and cracking. Annoying. I have same issue on both Hisense TVs.

It's an excellent tv for specific use cases
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a specific use case, it's a great tv. I use this tv in a bedroom for watching while sitting up in bed. The tv is at the foot of the bed only a few feet away and elevated to be at eye level. In this position, the tv has excellent color, brightness, and detail. Off axis viewing is terrible on this tv. Do not expect to use this tv in a room wide enough make this an issue. After some tweaking of the sound settings, you can get decent sound keeping in mind this is in a bedroom. I wanted a simple setup with no external sound requirements and this does the job. Android TV is a fine OS but the CPU in this tv is underpowered making usage sluggish and irritating. I knew this going in but wasn't worried because I use an apple tv for input. I only use the built-in system when needing to change tv settings. I'm rating this product 3 stars for general usage. If your use case isn't effected by the shortcomings I've listed, you can get an excellent 4 - 5 star 4k HDR experience for an great value.

Amazing bang for your buck Mid-budget TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is great right out of the box with minimal tweaking. I recommend changing picture mode to "theatre night" and color temp to "low". Blacks are very nice for a non-oled. Black/grey uniformity and contrast is great. SDR content looks fine and not juddery. If you don't need newer features like HDMI 2.1, eARC, or variable refresh. This TV is hard to beat for it's price. Pretty much every streaming app you can think of is available.

Best TV at Double the Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv was just ok out of the box. But since we have had it a few days, and I have adjusted the settings the picture has become quite good. HDR looks great, especially Dolby Vision. I am not a gamer so streaming and Blu-rays are our main content choices. The sound is not that good, a sound bar or home theater sound system would solve that problem so you can enjoy Dolby Atmos to it’s fullest. Also the viewing off-angle is poor, straight on the picture is great. Once adjusted, I would put this tv up against TVs twice it’s price from the big 3 ( Samsung, Sony and LG ) We are very satisfied with our Hisense U6G 55inch.

Great TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with this TV. There is almost no bezel so all you see is picture. Set up couldn't have been easier, I am not really all that tech savvy but you don't have to be with this TV. It programmed my cable remote so it even turns on my home entertainment system so it uses those speakers for the volume and I didn't do anything. When I push one power button everything turns on/off. Picture quality is great across the screen,I bought the 55" for the main tv watching room and am very satisfied with this set.

Great mid range tv
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost let me say I’m not a tv connoisseur, but I did do quite a bit of research and digging before deciding to pull the trigger on this purchase. Hisense after all isn’t exactly a household brand name, and I needed sufficient convincing before spending this kind of money on what I considered a gamble. Overall I was impressed from the get go with the picture quality just on the Home Screen, but after testing it with a ps5, Nintendo Switch, blu ray (1080p) and HDR content, I’ll give the verdict that this TV does everything pretty well but not perfectly. The first issue I ran into was with some 24hz judder in certain shows, mostly animation. The motion smoothing/backlight strobing does smooth out the judder but the strobing was far too noticeable to even remotely make this feature usable. It’s utterly pointless on this tv and could induce a seizure if I’m being frank. The other issue with picture is HDR. At 55” this tv has only 32 dimming zones which leads to pretty extreme halo effects when it’s a solid bright object against a dark background. Example would be the Netflix logo. It also crushes the blacks pretty hard in HDR gaming BUT ONLY when I did so by connecting my PC to the TV. When I tried HDR gaming on the ps5, the effect was much more subtle. Better than SDR? Barely but at least it didn’t destroy the image. Ultimately this isn’t a true HDR TV, but it does create very deep blacks when set to medium effect for general content viewing. I can appreciate what it does offer at this price point. Final issue I had was with the sound. Ultimately the speakers are surprisingly good. Not as good as an entry level sound bar but much better than other speakers on much more expensive TVs. The problem is that they are way too loud by default. I rarely ever turn the volume above “3” because even just one notch higher makes it obnoxiously loud for most content. I don’t know why it’s tuned this way but it’s something to take note of. The good things about this tv though are it’s price (purchased mine at $500), picture quality is on par with much more expensive TVs, remote is much larger and has much more button functionality than the tiny Roku remotes offered by competitors, and the interface is incredibly snappy and has every app and streaming service I’ve wanted thus far. My complaints are minor, because as long as you can get this TV at $550 or under it’s absolutely worth it and it blows the pants off of the tier under it (Hisense’s own A6G), and it’s absolutely worth spending that extra money for.

Great TV for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV for the price. A lot of backlight bleed and is not as bright as I would like but it gets the job done. Many reviews say the audio is subpar, but I think it is decent for a TV. Android TV is great. Alexa compatibility is lacking. Dolby Vision and HDR work well enough considering the max brightness that the TV can produce.

Dont even look at Sony and LG
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using a Magnolia Samsung I bought 5 years ago around the $3200 mark. I have seen so many new TVs and so much new technology but none really made it worth while to switch. I was perfectly happy with my old tv. After moving and needed a smaller size tv I was skeptical but took a shot on this TV, the price and the reviews were hard to ignore. I absolutely LOVE this tv the android tv is great has pretty much any streaming app you can ask for. Thin bezel screen makes the tv looker higher-end which is a plus. The picture quality is fantastic even better than my Samsung from 5 years before the color and brightness is really outstanding. This TV is a must if you are even thinking about looking at a similar Sony in the $1000 range its a no brainer.

Hisense 55"
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv for my bedroom and i love it. The picture is fantastic. The motion handling isnt that great, but thats to be expected with a 60 hz refresh rate. I was hoping the motion clearness setting would help but it does not. Once its enabled the screen gets very dim and the picture seems to flicker a lot. Other than that i really think it is a great tv. I watched john wick 3 on this and it had a better picture than my sony x950g. There is next to no blooming around bright objects which was a huge bonus. Another pleasant surprise was the sound quality of this tv. Not comparable to a sound bar or anything but it get plenty loud for qatching movies. As long as you dont mind the motion handling this is a must buy
