    Don't let the specs fool you, this is not a good television. Unacceptable lag when using chromecast. Doesn't play nicely with Windows when using as a PC monitor. Save yourself the trouble and get a Sony or a Samsung.

    Damaged t.v. and difficult return process

    The tv shipped and was delivered during the week. I set it up on a Saturday morning, and there was a band across the bottom third of the t.v. I checked my order, and selected "return" and was provided a bar code and instructed to return to a store. I packed up the t.v. with everything carefully, drove to the nearest store, they helped me get the t.v. from my car, unpackaged it, and told me I had to take it home and call Best Buy. So I spent an hour and then half an hour on the phone, and they cannot pick it up for another week and a half. I have bought a 50 inch and two 55 inch TCLs, and neither were defective or damaged. I regret my purchase, and dealing with this.

    Image is good but the screen had a red line in the middle right out of the box. I returned it and got a Samsung instead. I was very excited about the Hisense but ended up disappointed.

    Poor picture quality when viewing TV from angles. I would not recommend unless you plan on sitting directly in front of the TV.

    I have had nothing but trouble with this TV. For whatever reason the image appears washed out or hazy. There are no vivid colors and the picture is a major downgrade from the 10-year-old TV that I replaced. After reading the reviews of this unit I have been nothing but disappointed with my own experience. And now after an update the TV has turned itself on multiple times in the middle of the night. I really wanted to like this TV.

    The color keeps fading in and out.The color red is most noticed.I tried to call the manufacture but was advised to join a chat room for .$40. The tv is two months old.

    For the price, you might expect a lot more. I honestly The specs for this TV looked great on paper, but in practice, it’s a major letdown. The screen is excessively bright, which causes faces to look washed out and blends the background into the picture, ruining the overall viewing experience.

    The mini LED display kind of sucks had to return it due to the picture quality being kind off not so great. To access the battery in the remote control it’s really hard to open it.

    The picture quality is wonderful on this 55U7N. The audio is very good for a TV due to its built-in subwoofer and powerful amplifier. The image contrast degrades when viewed from an angle—a well-known issue. I read many reviews of assorted TVs before buying this one. The Hisense brand was consistently cited as a good performer and good value. The U6N, U7N, and U8N all received good marks. The reviews seemed inordinately concerned with brightness and contrast, more being better. I find the U7N is plenty bright--I use the Theater Dark mode because otherwise it is just too darn bright. Reviews only go so far so I went to a BestBuy store to see for myself. They certainly had plenty of TVs on display. I hoped to see some real-world video clips of sports or movies or nature scenes. Instead they were all showing advertisements with computer-generated graphics. Ads like that look the same on all TVs so I really didn’t learn anything. The remote is designed for streaming customers and does not even have number buttons. I’m an old dinosaur who still watches over-the-air programs and does not do streaming so those buttons are useless to me. Pushing up-up-up is an inconvenient way to change channels. I bought an Insignia universal remote and it works well with the TV. I was concerned the TV might not respond to additional IR button codes other than those from its own remote but it does. So now I can just press a number and instantly go to that channel. However, I found that pressing up-up-up isn’t too terrible since the TV responds very fast. The ASTC 3.0 tuner works but presently offers no real benefit because the local stations that have provisional 3.0 signals just transmit the same 1080 or 720 resolution as their regular ATSC 1.0 channels. Overall I am pleased with this TV.

    This tv was so bright even after making adjustments the brightness bothered your eyes . Returned to best buy without any problem must have been bad one . I then bought a Sony 55 inch this tv s perfect .

    Strong Improvement over older Hisense Generations

    A week in, very happy with purchase. Incredible picture clarity and good color right out of the box. Had some reservations on this brand after buying the H9Quantum series a few year back. What I hated about that TV (poor quality remote and glitchy Android OS) has been improved with a simple but sleek remote and a reliable google TV interface that plays well with my Iphone. Never knew I was playing witha slight lag for my PS5 (GOW) on my old TV, until I started playing on this one. Good value, high quality. Cons: The stand is a little wonky with a cheap cover but whatever.

    This TV has a smokin hot picture with killer black levels rivaling my LG OLED. Colors are vibrant and bright. There are plenty of customizable picture options, more than necessary really. This replaces a Roku tv that lighting blew up. Quite frankly the Roku system is simpler, more responsive and easier overall than the Google system. The Google system is often slow to respond at startup so that the e arc soundbar gets missed. Also I miss the ability to have it start on a specific tv channel. The closest you can come is to have it start at last used input. The biggest disappointment is that the manual mentions PVR and Timeshift, but apparently the US version does not support it as the options do not even show in the setup menu even as grayed out. Also when you try to use a usb stick the system ends up corrupting it. These reasons are why I only give it a 4 star review instead of the 5 star that the picture quality warrants. The remote is great. It is lit and runs an Apple very nicely. Kudos. If these issues aren’t important to you then on a picture quality basis it is a winner and great for the price.

    I've been using this TV for a week or so and it's been great. Honestly I remember Hisense as more of a discount brand but this TV will compete with any premium set. I compared this to a 7000 series Samsung that is 5 years old and this set is better in almost every way. It was hung in a room with a full wall of windows and skylights overhead, so about as bright as you can get. The picture is clear, crisp, bright and colorful. Action and sports programming is clear and barely noticeably artifacting. The TV was tested using streaming apps and Xfinity X1 boxes. The streaming apps when running 4k stream were great. The Xfinity had some smear but I'm sure that's Xfinity's problem not the TV. The LED backlight dimming works very well. I have an OLED TV so I'm used to perfect blacks and this TV is very close to those. Even in a bright room, the dark scenes are still very visible with even facial feature clear. The settings are great and give you a lot of adjustability. The preprogrammed picture settings work well and even in the very bright room gave several options that worked well. It also tailors the picture options to the stream that is coming in like Dolby. The sound is very good for a TV. The sub in the back does give it much lower tones than normal TV's but it is not comparable to a soundbar setup. But it would work for a lot of situations. It is light but very sturdy and was easy to hang. There are plenty of inputs on the back and they are clearly labeled as to what the input speed it the HDMI can handle. You can also rename the input labels on the screen which makes it easy to remember which input to go to. The remote is nice. It's not the typical black plastic remote like every other remote. I think it's actually stainless steel face with very solid buttons. Overall I would recommend this TV. It seems like a great value for the price and the picture is definitely premium level.

    Very good picture quality. Google TV is Google TV - not a fan. Main complaint so far: The TV is not too compatible with how some videos on dvd are configured or output from our dvd/br player. You can't zoom in to remove the black box on all sides as with our other tv. You can stretch vertically and horizontally but not both at the same time. So unless you like stretched people, you have to live with the large black box around the image.

    My 2nd Hisense Television

    This is my 2nd Hisense TV. I had bought the U7G a few years ago. I really like both of them. Both have really good pictures. What I like about the U7N is the sound is really good. It has a 2.1 built in system with a subwoofer that does a pretty good job. The only negative I would say is when hooking my sound system up to the television thought the optical line, you can't listen to both the sound system or the television sound simultaneously; it is either one or the other.
