Would give 5 star if no-replacement was needed
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product is good. Its just that the first TV that was delivered has an issue with the woofer which was making vibrating noise while playing songs which had a bass and was also got stuck / hanged couple of times. We had to replace the same and Best Buy helped in it. The replacement received is good in all sense and is actually upto expectations.

Great TV!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is terrific. We started by looking at $300 50" TVs and decided after some research to spend more for this 55" TV with more features. We spent $700 for the Hisense 55U8H and are glad we did. Great picture, good sound, easy to set up and operate. We couldn't be happier!

Hisense's First Mini-LED is a Huge Hit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m an avid gamer and movie watcher, so I always invest an above-average amount of my budget on televisions. I was a diehard plasma fan and now own 2 OLED panels that I adore, but when the chance to test this 55-inch Hisense U8H Mini-LED presented itself, I just had to give it a try to see how it stacked up against my OLED panels. I’ll give my overall impressions first in case you don’t want to read the entire review. Let’s get to it! Overall Impressions: The Hisense U8H is a stunning and capable television. With its native 120hz panel, 2 HDMI 2.1 ports (2 HDMI 2.0), and VRR support, this TV makes a great companion to either an Xbox Series S/X or Sony PS5. You’ll experience nothing but the smoothest gaming on the U8H with minimal input lag. The Google TV OS is an absolute joy to use for movie watching and while this set doesn’t get as dark as a high-end OLED panel, it does get noticeably brighter and darker than most LED panels. HDR and Dolby Vision performance is fantastic as well and there is minimal motion blur during fast movement, which is great for sports fans. The sound quality is respectable and will suit most people not wanting to splurge on a soundbar. Dolby Atmos support adds a bit of virtual surround sound to the U8H and it’s a nice addition. The Hisense U8H Mini-LED is a great TV set at any price but will impress those who want a more premium viewing experience without having to pay a premium price. Build Quality/Appearance: The Hisense U8H looks and feels like a premium TV. With its almost invisible bezels and stylish legs, this set should blend into any decor. The U8H seems to be built solidly. I did not feel much flex or give when wall mounting the unit, nor did I notice any issues with ports or sharp corners. Connectivity: Hisense thought of just about everything with the U8H. You’ll have an ATSC tuner for OTA broadcasts, 2 HDMI 2.1 ports for your new Xbox or Playstation, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports for older devices, and even an optical port. eArc comes standard in case you’re wanting to hook up a soundbar. Anyone using this as a monitor will enjoy the support for Freesync Premium and VRR for your game consoles. Usability/Interface/Features: Most people will just use the built-in Google TV to watch streaming content and the curation and features of Google TV are top-notch and I believe a step above most other smart TV platforms. The remote included leaves a bit to be desired, as it’s cheap and doesn’t reflect the quality of the display. It’s functional and most people will be fine with it, but I wanted a bit more from the remote, such as backlit keys or a pointer function like some remotes have. There isn’t much to complain about as navigation is easy and intuitive. Please remember to let the TV update itself to the latest firmware, as the initial firmware on the unit seemed to be a bit buggy for me. Display Quality and Performance: The U8H provides a stunning, bright, and colorful picture. Also, when I say the tv is bright, I can’t emphasize how bright it gets. It’s one of the brightest TVs I’ve ever seen and puts both my OLED TVs to shame. However, brightness isn’t everything, so the U8H also performs very well with mixed content. Movies appear smooth and colorful, with good skin tone reproduction and excellent motion fluidity. I didn’t notice any judder while watching Lord of the Rings on Amazon Prime and Better Caul Saul was rendered beautifully on the set. I had to turn down the brightness as the TV tends to want to show off how bright it can go, especially with Dolby Vision and HDR content. Now while the U8H provides full array dimming, you’ll be hard-pressed to find perfect blacks here as there is always going to be a little bit of light bloom depending on the content being displayed. The light bloom isn’t very noticeable in most content and probably won’t bother most people, but it’s still present. The U8H won’t provide the true blacks that an OLED TV yields, but you’ll also be completely immune to image burn-in and image retention as well. As for gaming, the U8H is stunning with its ALLM and VRR support. While input lag isn’t the lowest in its class, it’s still very respectable as anything under 10ms isn’t noticeable by most people. VRR support is a great feature to have when playing on either an Xbox or PS5 and there is support for Freesync Premium in the case that you’re using this as a computer monitor. I played the newest Last of Us on my PS5 and was amazed at how stunning the game looked on the U8H. The brightness makes the colors and on-screen content pop. I usually game on an OLED display and while I still really enjoy the inky blacks and contrast of OLED, mini-LED is a step in the right direction and a huge improvement over last-generation display technologies. Sound Quality: There’s not a whole lot to say about the U8H’s speakers and sound quality. You’ll get respectable sound for the two 10w speakers and great sound separation as well. The speakers were impressive for a panel this thin and if this were being used in a bedroom they may be acceptable, however, if you’re looking to fill a living room with sound from the U8H then a soundbar may be a good investment as you can only expect so much from the small speakers. Even with Dolby Atmos enabled, the sound will be underwhelming in a bigger room, but I think that’s expected with flat panel TVs.

This tv is a keeper.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is amazing. I have the LG Oled c1 65 inch in the living room. Wanted something that had great picture quality without breaking the bank since it’s my bedroom tv. I’m glad I reviewed the tv and wasn’t biased with the name brand. This has to be the best valued and picture quality of the year. Do the reviews on this tv and make the jump to buy it. You won’t be disappointed. The colors and blacks are out of this world and beats the Samsung s95 and Sony x series. It’s not an oled but matches pretty darn close. Hisense went all out for this tv and I would def pay the full retail asking price for this tv. It’s that good.
