Google TV is speedy and replaced my need for the Nvidia Shield. The inclusion of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos makes it perfect for my movie experience. The 120hz HDMI port opened the option for me to connect my Gaming PC.

It has such a crisp and bright screen with deep blacks. A few of the menu items are a little clunky to use but overall very satisfied with this purchase for the money

HDMI Arc is weird with my Apple TV when routing audio to my HomePod. While it works, the Hisense TV will constantly think it is muted even when it’s not. Also, sometimes the TV doesn’t turn on alongside the Apple TV

Pros: -It’s really bright, color looks great. Darks are extremely dark. -Picture is customizable. It has a lot of presets you can tweak to your liking. -Sound is clear and the bass is booming. Cons: -Hardware issue -Constantly lagging and unresponsive. -Freezing. At least once a day, I have to unplug the TV just for it to reset and go back to normal. Overall, this TV is great but it is just plagued with frustrating bugs. I’m guessing I just got a lemon. I want to return it and replace it with a new one. Bottom line—it’s amazing until it’s unusable.

Excellent tv, would buy again

The internet connection wouldn’t connect properly for the first few minutes of set up. Afterwards, it was smooth sailing and stayed connected every time it was turned on.

This tv is syper well reviewed on rtings, which I really trust for tv reviews (and the associated setup to get the most organic image). It presents well when onboxing an doing initial setup. The Google TV interface is quick, and I LOVE that you can do the abbreviated view where it only shows you your apps. The problem I had doesn't relate to the picture, but instead the audio. Using the native Google tv app launcher, I experienced audio sync issues of about .5 seconds, which is an eternity. This occurred with both external speakers hooked up via the headphone jack and blutooth AND with the native speakers. The problem is less prounced when using a device hooked up via HDMI, but the issue was still present. I troublshot the issue for hours and hours. I tried various settings. The tv was fully updated. Neither myself nor the Hisense support agent were able to determine what was causing the problem. A Google search on the issue sugests that many others have had similar issues. In the end, I ended up returning it as defective since neither I nor Hisense could resolve the issue. If the sound worked as expected, my review would be glowing (especially given the holiday pricing). As it stands, I'm sitting at 2 stars. The sounds issue was massively frustrating! If you get the tv, observe that it has audio sync issues, just return it and save yourself the troubleshooting! There are plenty of other options out there, and TCL's class 6 series (55R655) which is working flawlessly for me as the replacement for this U8H!

I wish I'd made a different choice.

First of all, it's constantly losing Wi-Fi signal despite the fact that I live in a small apartment and have extremely fast internet. Now when gaming or watching some programming, the screen will suddenly go black, although there is still sound and I have to do a soft reset to get the picture to come back. This is happening several times a day.
