Beautiful display at a budget price. 120hz does indeed work well. At night, I have to turn down the backlight because it's so bright. An issue that I love having.

How is this thing even possible. Darn near my LG G2 OLED with the black levels. This is the best value in TV's right by a long way. So much brightness.

Upgraded our living room TV when an older one stopped working. This is a huge step up from the 44" 1080p 60hrtz we had before. It also has excellent sound, I expecting to add a sound bar to this as well. So far my wife this sounds so good that we don't need the additional sound. My only complaint is since we use a fire stick to connect to our apps, the TV frequently has a notification of being connected, then disconnected to internet. I'll have to look into turning off it's wifi connection to hopefully stop that notification.

Having already owned a mini led tv (tclr635) I was amazed at how much better the local dimming is on the u8h,little to no blooming minimal hallowing and deep blacks. The incredible brightness is the star of the show though. Hdr POPPS big time with around 2000 nits of brightness available. Don’t hesitate if you can find one buy it. Quantum was right again

Great picture. Amazing for the price.
Rough upscaling of anything not 4k.
Sound is awesome and there's a subwoofer in the TV.

Great with some software quirks

Picture quality is great- after some messing around. The motion enhancement is finicky and looked kinda bad without it but even worse with it on. (Custom: 1, blur reduction 8)
Took a while to dial it in, especially with my Xbox series X (hint: go to the hamburger icon on remote and change HDMI mode and keep Dolby vision off).
Another weird thing is that you can’t just turn on a device and have it go straight there. It usually goes back to the google screen. You can enable the last used input but it’s finicky.
If you can put up with the software quirks, and find this on sale, you got yourself a great tv.

Love It So Far

Love this TV. Good picture. Never had Google TV before so that took some adjustment. Biggest issue was navigating menu and settings. Utilized You Tube for excellent suggestions on settings for calibration, etc.. Neither included or online manual much good for menu. Finding "enhanced" mode to utilize Dolby Vision with 4K from Roku Stick was a beast. After spending several hours (after discovering "menu" v settings) I found what I needed. Again, You Tube was helpful. Utilize 5.1 AVR for surround so can't comment on TV sound itself, but it's great with the AVR system.

No Demo model available at local Best Buy. Purchase based on positive on-line/YouTube Tech Reviews. TV now in use for 4 weeks. User manual weak in explaining picture adjustments. Finally figuring out how to adjust picture using YouTube videos. The set appears to need several weeks to fully break in. Now have excellent picture. Hisense Tech support is weak, not helpful in resolving periodic SD pixelation issues. (On-line forums have been very helpful.)

Great price for 700, good picture, easy set up, sound is bad, but its 2023. Tv manufacturers want everyone to have a soundbar.

I replaced my main viewing set with a very high end OLED which made me realize how had my old bedroom TV was. After reasearching for a week or so I settled on the U8H. For the price this TV packs a ton of features. The local dimming is fantastic with virtually no blooming. Struggles a tad at times with some motion handling but never enough to be really distracting. Very happy with this unit

This has been some serious bang for my buck. Brought this for an upgrade for my 2016 LG 1080p tv. Amazing what these LED panels do now. I’ve got this hooked up to a Xbox Series X and a Nintendo Switch and both look great. TV is super bright and has no issue seeing the display in a brightly lit room. The built in speakers are nice and even has a mini subwoofer. I know audiophiles will shoot down built in speakers but these work great in a smaller setting.

Great TV, but bad user manual. TV kept reverting back to goggle TV whenever you power TV on even though you were watching cable before power down, and no where in the instructions did they address this issue.
Found that there is a deep system power menu that lets you choose home menu return or last thing you were watching. Annoying problem solved. Spent days searching, and found just before I returned TV. Beautiful picture at rock bottom price.

Excellent UHD Dolby Vision + Atmos TV for price

- Excellent UHD (4K) TV with great picture quality; has - Mini-LED technology.
- Audio is very good too.
- Supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos
- Bright! Specs say 1500 nits peak brightness across up-to-336 local dimming zones.
- Stand is heavy duty metal (not cheap plastic).
- It has Google TV support so most popular streaming apps are supported.
- Voice control
- Box is a great design (box cover / 'top' lifts upward after removing 4 clips).
Check rtings.com and compare it to more costly alternatives.
Just be sure to use the hamburger menu item when a given HDMI is selected and set it to 'Enhanced' format (if your input device - Roku, Blu Ray player etc. supports it) to ensure your device displays 4K HDR / 4K Dolby Vision at 60 Hz as applicable (depending on your device's capability).
