Freezes

The only problem is that the interface freezes after turning the tv on. I have to unplug it and replug the tv in just to get a smooth running interface. This happens every time the TV is off for awhile.

Big Offer Small Price

This television will not offer you the most vivid/crisp picture but it will offer good quality and options for your money. Our over the air channels look really good and our streaming apps even better. As someone mentioned on an earlier review, make sure you update your tv. After the system was updated, twice, the picture looked so much better. Another tip, each hook up (tuner, hdmi...) has it's own set up and each source (HD, HDR, UHD, DolbyVision) has it's own set up. Don't do what I did and set up DolbyVision on all your sources as you may screw up your firestick settings.

Android TV interface is a bit slow due to the processor, but workable. Also need to dive in to the motion settings to get rid of motion judder.

GREAT PURCHASE, GREAT QUALITY AND PRICE

I was a bit skeptical at first because it was not a brand I would normally buy. The best buy employee was very kind to inform my partner and I about the differences in all TVs as far as quality in picture. In the end, this Hisense TV was the winner. The quality of the picture is just out of this world. I love that it is a smart tv and you can download mostly all streaming apps. With the exception of a few. I can't remember which ones at the top of my head. But rest assured you can download Netflix. Anyways, my family members came over and were impressed with the product itself that they decided to purchase one as well. If that does not tell you is good, I am not sure what is. In the end, WE LOVE IT!

great TV for the money

As of now, no complaints. It has been performing well. I noticed early on the over-saturation of reds and blues when looking at family pictures but have since not noticed it much. We mostly stream Disney+, and Netflix and watch PBS shows. One time there were glitches on an NBC stream but I'm not sure if that was NBC or the TV. The screen went black for a second between frames. That hasn't happened again on any other programs. My son loves playing Wii on it. There are lots of features we haven't used yet but overall, we're happy with our purchase.

I own a sharp tv from 2008 and have been using Nvidia shield which is ultra responsive.... Hisense picture is spot on ultra HD quality, but the android tv is definitely beginner , lagging level but much better than say insignia Roku lag.

Great TV

The reviews are comparing this TV to the $2000 TV's. It also has some impressive sounds even though I have a sound bar. The only downside is I had trouble connecting my sound bar and even still do. I'm not sure if its the compatibility with my current soundbar or the TV. That would be the only con if its even the TVs fault. But anyways, its a great TV for the price!

The response time when using the control it takes awhile to respond and this start to happen after 6 months

Not Good Enough - Weak Processor

The Bad 1) If you plan to use with HDHomerun, don't but this TV Get a external device like shield/PC/Xbox etc. instead. Rating 1/10 2) TV is still on Android 7 says software is up to date. Other Android TVs are at version 9 - Rating - 6/10 3) SLOW very LAGGY response to remote control. Rating 3/10 The Good 4) Picture Quality Good - 7/10 5) $K picture Good - 7/10 6) Netflix App/Prime App - Responsive - Rating 7/10 7) Works well with ARC / HDMI for control with soundbar. I regret buying Hisense. Wish I would have returned it.

Really Happy

Nice (Price) 4K Display

I thought I was watching a live Broadway spectacle in my own home. Watching 720p cable broadcast with rabbit ears was a bit underwhelming but I guess corners had to be cut for the price. Is this set perfect? nope but I'm not going to complain much for what I paid.

Terrible vertical banding and laggy Android TV

After meticulous research (as I'm sure you're doing right now) and saving for the last year, we bought the Hisense H8F and put this fella under the Christmas tree. I was very confident with all of the positive reviews on many websites. Lo and behold, after mounting it on the wall and turning it on there is *severe* vertical banding on grey screens. I feel like we are watching movies on an old projector in a movie theater. It's very noticeable on most menu screens and any dark movie scenes. Salt in the wound is the Android TV interface, which is laggy to the point of being almost unusable. Even navigating the menus has long pauses between button clicks. There are constant buffering stutters (despite a speedy internet connection and Orbi mesh wireless in the house). I've tried clearing the cache, resetting, but nothing helps. Resigning to using a Roku removed the stuttering issues and lip-sync problems on the Android TV (which we shouldn't have to do, right?) The worst of it all is that we can't return to Best Buy because it's past 15 days, despite an obviously faulty panel causing the banding stripes. This TV turned excitement of the holiday into disappointment for our little house. Please avoid.

I really wanted to give this TV 5 stars...

It appears Hisense is no longer releasing automatic updates for it. The firmware it came with had major issues with streaming 4k content. Disney+, HBOGO, really any app with true 4k would experience major audio stutter and hang after 20 or so seconds of streaming. After waiting on hold for over an hour for Geeksquad (I paid for the 3 year plan) I gave up and tracked down the support # for Hisense. They had me go through a hard reset / validation process (completely understandable). I recreated the condition with the representative on the phone and she escalated the case to 2nd level support -- pretty much knowing I needed a firmware update. A day later support sent me a link to a June 2019 firmware. I flashed it and voila, my 4k issues were fixed. The new firmware comes preloaded with Prime Video as a system app but, no matter what you try, returns an "unknown error occurred" message whenever you try to play any kind of video / preview. You can't sideload a more recent version of Prime Video (I'm considering rooting this thing) because the package name collides with the pre-installed system instance, but the old "Amazon Videos" app installs and runs, albeit prompts you with a warning about 4k video compatibility every time you open it. I've also noticed a periodic audio mute issue on just about every app since installing the new firmware. Periodically, the sound will go silent for 10-20 seconds while subtitles and video continue to play fine. It recovers on its own, but its slightly annoying to have this happen during an "engaging" movie. I would love to update my review with 5 stars. All I need is a stable ROM on this bad boy.

Good looking TV, Okay performance.

I have had issues with the TV crashing randomly a handful of times. The TV has a hard time adjusting to the lighting of what's on the TV sometimes, when it's a bright scene and then a dark, or opposite, it does a weird fading thing trying to adjust. Certain apps when you back out of won't close, like pandora, so if you go from pandora to netflix the music will still be playing while you're watching Netflix. Probably wouldn't purchase again, but overall not upset with the purchase.

Please try performing a factory reset on the unit as this fixes most common issues. A factory reset can be done by going to Settings>Storage & Reset>Factory Data Reset. The television will then shut off and after coming back on will prompt you to set up the TV like when it was just out of box. Spectacular Low Cost TV

Otherwise the picture is far better than what you paid for.
