    So far this TV has worked amazingly well. It has great resolution and you can see the screen quite clearly whether it is in the dark or light. I have been pleasantly surprised with it considering it is a brand that I was not very familiar with

    This TV replaced my older Hisense 55inch, the 55 inch didn’t have the greatest picture so I was hesitant to buy the brand again. After reading reviews I pulled the trigger and I am impressed!

    Severe problems after Android upgrade great before

    Before the last Android upgrade I would have given this TV a 4 or even 5 for the price. But, the Android upgrade to version 9 has been extremely problematic. The TV turns on by itself any time of day. The user interface went from acceptable to very slow. I can't stream 4k in 4K anymore and streams from Amazon or Netflix sometimes freeze. It also randomly refused to connect to my sound bar until I reboot the TV. I called Hisense support, and the tier 1 support staff had me take the remote control batteries in and out. Not helpful. It appears that this is a problem with the meager RAM. Hisense needs to fix android in the next release to work within the memory constraints and be truthful when customers call in.

    Nice picture and great price but the thing freezes up a lot and has to be unplugged to reset. This started after about 1 month of owning it.Very disappointed with this item. I am looking to replace it.

    This H8F TV is surprisingly good looking. The bezel is super thin (bezel is 1/8” plus the border is abut 1/4”) and from the side, the TV is only 3” at its thickest which is at the bottom half of the unit. The whole unit is surrounded with plastic making it very light but it is pretty well built. The TV uses Android TV OS with Google Assistant. The Android OS makes the user interface easier to navigate but it is quite slow or laggy. For example, using the onscreen keyboard, it takes a second or so to get through the keys. It has a bunch of apps that are preinstalled but you can choose to not install them at setup. On the other hand, you can also install your favorite apps from the Google App Store. It has Chromecast built-in. With Google Assistant, you can use the TV remote to control your smart home devices or ask how the weather is. As far as video quality video, you can definitely notice some black or dark vignetting rounding out the corners which is typical with lower quality screens. It does produce really good blacks and whites but they do bleed unto each other. You can notice some flickering when the pixels change between bright and dark contrasta. The color reproduction is pretty good watching a movie with HDR and Dolby Vision from an Apple TV. It supports 4K with HDR & HDR10 and Dolby Vision, 4K upscaling and 240hz motion rate. It auto detects HDR and Dolby Vision content so you don’t have to worry about switching them on. It comes with two steel TV base stands and you can attach the stands in a wide or narrow stance. Or you can wall mount it with VESA 400mm x 200mm. Make sure to use spacers between the mount and TV. The lower set of screws are 4 1/2” from the bottom for those of you planning on wall mounting this TV. Actual dimensions without stand is 56.9”L x 32.8”H x 3.0”D (3” thickness at the bottom half of the unit and 1-1/4” at the top half) The remote, well, it’s just another normal remote. Nothing really special about it other than it does have a button for the Google Assistant and a mic. It has preprogrammed buttons for Netflix, YouTube, Google Play and VUDU. You don’t have to point it directly at the TV or whatever you’re controlling. Works with Apple TV for most of the functions. Connectivity: Wireless AC dual band, ethernet and Bluetooth Ports: Four(4) HDMI 2.0, 2USB (1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0), RF antenna, one RCA composite video + one audio input, one optical audio out, ethernet and one earphone/audio out. I really don’t like the placement or the way the HDMI cables plug in to the HDMI ports on the TVs for cable management purposes. Like most TVs, the HDMI ports are located on right (looking from behind) facing the right edge. Quality HDMI cables are very thick and very hard to bend and you will have to bend it back towards the middle of the TV if you wall mount it or if you want to kind of hide the wires. It auto switches inputs. This H8F 65” is not for the cinemaphiles or video enthusiasts. It is more than very good for everyday users that want good video quality on a big screen without spending too much. I don’t watch too much TV unless it’s a movie or watching sports. This suits me with my sports but I would go with a higher quality screen, OLED or QLED, for movies but I'm not saying it's not good enough for movies. I usually go with the more famous brand name for better overall quality but I was pleasantly surprised with this Hisense brand.

    With the TV market moving more and more toward 4K, everyone is looking for the best option for their situation, taking into account size, performance, and of course, price. Hisense offers a decent product at a fantastic price. The H8F comes in your standard packaging and is well protected. This is important because I have seen cases where televisions had less than desirable protection allowing for damaged corners. Of course, you will have to assemble the television prior to use. Attaching the stand is pretty straightforward. For my use case, I would be mounting the TV on the wall. Well, to my disdain, the HF8 did not have pre-drilled or even pre-sunk female threaded holes in back of the TV. This was very disappointing. I had to drill holes and find self-tap screws to fit the application. When drilling holes, I had to be extremely careful not to damage internals by drilling too deep – this was a bit scary. Also, remember, your screws need to be long enough to attach the mount arms securely, but short enough to prevent damaging internals. The TV is light and that’s a good thing considering the mounting situation. When you start the HF8, you will be guided through setup of the TV via a wizard. This is an Android TV, and it will need updating initially. The TV seems to have an average processor, so expect it to take a little bit of time to update. The interface is very easy to use and efficient. There are some apps installed by default, which will probably require updating as well, but you will need to install other apps for your personal use. The HF8 has a good picture for the price. With a little adjusting, you can get a great picture for both HD and 4K content. The HF8 also has ARC, so my Fire Stick was easily recognized and controlled using the remote. There are TVs that cost 3 times as much as that don’t have this functionality. Great job by Hisense. Overall, it’s hard not recommend this TV. It is very well priced, has a great picture, supports ARC, and has the power of Android TV at its base. The installation issues aside, it’s an enjoyable television experience.

    Cool design, but it is better to never buy a TV on an android system at all, it slows down terribly in many moments and sometimes errors appear.
