When you turn the tv on you have to select your input. Which you must do with its factory remote. Directv remote won’t function for this. Directv remote will only sync to turn on/off and volume. My elderly mother almost wants her LG 42” back. Being technically challenged I’d only be causing her more problems with a universal remote. Two remotes are a pain.

Not as good as my Samsung but for 200 dollars less it is a very nice TV. Great pic and great sound. I'd definitely buy it again.
