Customers are saying
Customers are enthusiastic about the Hisense U6 Series TV's picture quality, price, and user-friendly features. They appreciate the vibrant colors, excellent contrast, and sharp clarity of the 4K UHD display. The TV's affordability, especially considering its impressive specifications, is a major selling point. Customers also find the Google TV platform intuitive and easy to use, with a wide selection of apps and personalized recommendations. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the sound quality, with a few reporting occasional sound loss. Additionally, the 60Hz refresh rate may not be ideal for gaming, and the remote control could benefit from more comprehensive functionality.

Got as a GS replacement for a Roku TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a TCL Series 5 Roku TV that failed after 3 years. Had Geek Squad protection and got this TV. The GS rep on the phone told me this was technologically superior to the Roku they were also offering. This TV apparently has no processing power. I was watching Paramount+, i turned up the volume and it caused a massive framerate drop. This is getting returned for that Roku. I want nothing to do with it. You can’t even adjust the volume without causing problems.

Netflix doesn't work on this TV
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV will not open the Netflix app. I get an error code "UI-800-3". I've changed my modem, reset the TV etc ... I've been trying to get this issue resolved and Hisense is telling me to buy a USB flash drive and try downloading and reinstalling the TV software... Every other app works. No other issues with the TV. It's frustrating tho.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is average. I only purchased this TV because the Best Buy TV sales person said not to buy the Samsung TV I was there for and to buy a TCL or Hisense TV instead. I noticed a dead pixel on the screen 17 days after purchasing and I am now out of the 15-day exchange period. Best Buy is telling me to go through the manufacturer to solve this problem but nobody has time for that. I cannot believe how poorly everything is made these days

Slow response
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has to be the worst tv that i have purchased. I have 3 other smart tv but was looking to upgrade to a bigger tv. The programs are so slow to load. On top of that it keeps saying not connected to the internet when it is hard wired in and my internet speed is 1gb. Definitely will not buy a hisense again as it is over priced as well for a smart tv that takes forever to load programs

Big, bright, and colorful
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense 65U6K is an awesome entry level television with some unexpected features at this price point. It's a 4K 60Hz TV using quantum dot technology with mini-LED backlighting (rare at this price point)! Jargon aside, that means that it's very accurate in color rendition with high local contrast and minimal blooming. Blacks are black and don't bleed to grey around the edges in high contrast scenes. On the back, there are 3 HDMI 2.0 ports and one HDMI eARC port, 2 USB 2.0, one optical output, one ethernet port, a headphone jack, and an RF input. It's nice to have so many input choices. It does come with plastic feet for tabletop or desk setups, but it also has VESA screw holes for wall mounting. Given the size and weight, wall-mounting is preferred.. The HDMI 2.0 ports are 60Hz so 4K gaming at 120Hz isn't possible, but it's quite responsive for 60Hz gaming (and supports Variable Refresh Rate). The setup options are extensive so the picture can be adjusted to your liking. The smart operating system is Google TV and it can quickly toggle between Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc using voice commands or the included remote. The voice input is nice and makes yelling at the TV much more satisfying. The TV supports a wide range of HDR modes. The only downside is that the built-in audio isn't all that great. It really needs to be connected to a soundbar or sound system.

You get what you pay for.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually don't write reviews, but I had to for this. All of the reviews I read were GREAT....mine however, not so great. Ghosting and tearing makes watching movies, especially in Dolby, almost impossible.

Fantastic value TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense 65-Inch Class U6 Series 4K Mini-LED ULED Google TV represents a great value. It has pretty much every feature a person could ask for, it's performance is excellent, it's easy to set up, and the price is right. 65 inches is the sweet spot TV size for a lot of people, and this one physically looks great with an extremely narrow bezel and no distracting lights or labels anywhere on the front. The distance between the feet offers 2 choices, with the narrower choice putting the feet about 28 inches apart which is close enough for just about any TV stand. The TV is very stable with the feet in either position. Setup is easy once you get it out of the enormous box. I have a Google account and used that with the setup. Having a smartphone helps since you can use that to scan QR codes and pretty much eliminate the need to type in anything using the remote. Overall, I like the Google/Android TV operating system, it's easy to use and looks good. Plus you get access to massive numbers of apps. I use Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Plex. All those apps work smoothly and fast. Picture quality is great. The local dimming works effectively and really improves contrast and blacks. I found the best picture setting to be "Filmmaker Mode" with the ambient light sensor turned off. HDR works well and improves the image with compatible sources. Sound quality is typical of pretty much every TV I've used. Pretty bad. I use a soundbar anyway so it doesn't matter. The soundbar is connected via eARC HDMI and works seamlessly with the TV. The only problem I had was that the "universal" remote that operates my satellite receiver can't control the TV power on/off. There were 40 (!) possible remote codes to use but none of them worked to control the power. All 40 worked to control the sound volume. So other than that weirdness, I couldn't find any notable flaws with this TV. Highly recommended for a TV under $1000.

Feature rich TV produces excellent AV output!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Hisense 65" U6K has a great feature set that provides excellent image and video quality! Design There are two pairs of feet that easily attach to the bottom of the TV. There are two different places were each can be attached, to have them closer together (towards the middle of the TV) or farther apart (towards the sides of the TV). There's a small bezel around the perimeter of the screen. There are 4 HDMI 2.0 ports, one optical audio output, one and one headphone 1/8" stereo output. One of the HDMI ports supports eARC. All four support 4k video at up to 60 frames per second. There are no composite, component, or VGA inputs - but I'm pretty sure those are hard or impossible to find anymore and rarely needed. It does actually have an A/V input that I think works as a composite but requires a 1/8" adapter. The remote has no numbers on but there is an onscreen menu that offers numbers and the four color buttons, in case you need any of those for changing channels or maybe a DVD player or something like that. Otherwise, it has all the buttons you would expect. There is a front facing power button near the middle of the bottom, just below the display. There is also an Ethernet port which is what I use for my internet connection to the TV. It has WiFi too of course. I tested the digital tuner for over the air broadcast and that worked great with excellent image quality and I love the interface! You just pop up a menu and select the channel. You can type in numbers if you want but you don't need to once it scans and finds everything in range. The TV interface for the tuner is the nicest that I've seen. It's been a long time since I used an over the air tuner but I may actually start using it more. Setup The setup was very fast and easy for me. First, it lets you choose if you want to use it as a Google TV (apps, smart TV) or a standard TV (TV channels and changing between inputs - not a smart TV). Then the Google TV setup lets you pair with the Google Home app on your phone for a fast setup. The last time I setup a Google TV there were a number of updates and restarts and it took a long time. This was much faster and I think there was only one restart for updates. I checked for more TV updates after that and there weren't any. I didn't time it but it seemed like it was only 10 minutes or so. Color and Image Quality Bright, rich, and vibrant are the words I would use to describe the image quality. The screen is also very evenly lit to the corners. It's bright enough that one seen in a movie with a view of a sun rise was so bright it almost made me look away. Without seeing it next to other TVs this is hard to really say but it seems as good or better than any other TV I've seen. Video, assuming you have a quality source and good internet connection, is rich, smooth, and life like. I've tried playing video from a number of sources, some at lower quality, 1080i on over the air content, and up to 4k with HDR on different app based content and it all plays very well! Keep in mind that some apps do not choose the highest quality by default and some don't start at the highest quality but seem to take time to evaluate your internet connection before running at the highest quality available of that video. Some video almost has a 3D look to me. Though the TV can't do 3D video playback, I think the bright, rich colors, and excellent HDR just make high quality content pop. I will say, I changed the "Picture Mode" from "Auto" to "Standard" and that made everything much brighter at one point. For the lighting in the room at the time the auto mode had picked a setting that wasn't bright enough for me. Setting it to the "Standard" setting, everything looks bright and rich to me. There are lots of "Picture Mode" settings to try including "FilmMaker Mode" which is designed to give you the experience that was intended for a movie. Every form of HDR available is supported and it does it well with the full array local dimming. Local dimming allows an LED backlit LCD display to do very dim and/or more accurate shades as well as true black in certain regions of the screen. "Full Array" means there are more of those regions. I'm not sure if it's per pixel lighting, but it sure seems to produce excellent results to me. OLED is per pixel lighting because the pixels provide their own light without a backlight. The downside to OLED is they burn in more easily than LCD. I tested the HDR with my Windows gaming PC. Windows 11 detected and was able to use the HDR. Some games detect the HDR, or the graphics driver recognizes the HDR and the game in a way that it supports it, either way, I thought that was cool. It said that at game launch. I did need to go into my graphics settings and enable HDR in Windows. There are separate settings in Windows for "Use HDR" and "HDR Video Streaming" and this TV supports both. Sound I had no issues with audio and it's Dolby Atmos produced excellent audio using my 5.1 surround sound system. My sound system uses an HDMI-ARC connection but, thankfully, the included HDMI-eARC support is backward compatible to my slightly older HDMI-ARC sound system. There were no issues with the audio and it sounded great! Sound was full, rich, and clear. Positional audio worked as expected with YouTube videos I used as well as actual movies. Positional audio really does help to complete the experience making me feel like I'm in the action! Apps I've tried a number of apps on the TV for video playback and they work well. I've also tried a few games. Two games I even used with a USB gamepad connected to it - I think Bluetooth ones would work too. It launches apps well in what is a reasonable amount of time to me, and does a good job switching back to the Home screen. After installing a bunch of apps there are still 7.2GB free, which is good from what I've seen on Google TVs. After updating it to the latest update it has it's running Android version 11. That works fine but I'm hoping Hisense will update that to Android version 12. Summary I'm very impressed by the picture quality of the TV as well as the audio and how well it worked with my surround sound system. The control of using the TV is fast enough that it feels very responsive to me. Make sure to check and/or play with the Picture Mode options. This is totally a TV I would recommend.

Great TV for the price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense Class U6 4K TV is a great TV for the price. This is my 3rd Hisense since 2018 and I haven't been disappointed with if the TVs so far. If anything, each TV has gotten better. Now, with the Hisense 65-Inch Class U6 Series 4K Mini-LED ULED TV, things are stepping up. Just like my previous Hisense, you can either mount the TV on the wall, or the feet came be placed to sit on a table. The feet can be adjusted. The feet can be placed close together or at the end of the TV depending on the side of your table. Setting up the TV was very simple. The TV has a step-by-step process to login to your Google account and set up with your Wi-Fi. Once done, I added my PS5 and Fire Stick. The TV had no issues with the PS5, but I did have issues activating the HDR for the PS5. Once I completed some research, the HDR settings are under a separate menu button on the lower left side of the remote than the setup button located at the upper right of the remote. Once I found the location and activated the HDR, the colors pop and every game played. Next, I went to the Fire Stick and watched several movies. Once movie that stands out for watching in 4K and HDR is Speed Racer. This gives all the settings a full workout and shows what the TV can handle. The mini-LEDs is the gamechanger. The brightness catches your eye automatically. This TV offers four HDMI plugs for your devices. I have plenty of space to plug in my PS5, my Fire Stick and the soundbar. The TV offers 60Hz on the HDMI devices and while it's not 120Hz, it's more than enough based on the price. If you're on a budget and you want a great TV, this is the one.

Outstanding Midrange TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, I am impressed with what Hisense has done. This is not my first Hisense TV and there have been notable improvements over the previous version that I have moved from my living room to the bedroom in favor of this new updated one. The Google OS is significantly more responsive and faster and that is huge for a smart TV. If it's sluggish loading apps and playing content, then the smart features become very frustrating, and as a cord cutter with multiple streaming subscriptions, I am very thankful that this was an improvement. The setup was very easy, especially if you already have a Google account to log in with. The picture quality is outstanding for this price range. Of course if you double your investment and get into the OLED lineups you'll find better picture, but you'll be hard pressed to outperform the U6 ULED in this price range. The unit also comes with 4 HDMI inputs to accommodate your external stereo, multiple gaming consoles, or other such inputs. Speaking of gaming, it runs very smoothly in 4K HDR from both the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. I definitely recommend this unit for anyone looking to get 4K HDR picture without breaking the bank.

Fantastic picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looked at a ton of TV, wanted a 65 inch becuase did not want to overwhelm the room with a 75inch. This tv is by far has the best picture in its class, picture is so clear and the color and detail is amazing. When i was comparing specs with other brands i found that the information provided was very confusing so I trusted my eyes. The set is very slim and its has provisions to adjust the base in two different positions. Also it comes with a two year warranty. You can’t go wrong with this TV. Their are more expensive sets for sale with more features and better pictures but the set has a fantastic picture and you won’t break the bank buying it.
