Wanted to like but very disappointed

I read a lot of reviews from Rtings and AVForums about many brands including Hisense TVs. I was bummed my TCL gave out only in 4 years(not common for this brand), I vowed to purchase another brand. Looking at most recommended TVs the top three premium brands (Sony, LG, Samsung) were highly recommended especially the OLED models but came with the premium brand tax. Memorial Day is always a good time to buy a tv and Best Buy had many on sale including the Hisense U7N 65inch for $799. The U8N model got a great review from Digital Trends so I thought the U7N would be a cost effective and good enough model. Setup was a little slow due some needed Google TV updates. Initially, the tv seemed zippy after install. I tried all of my usual streaming apps like Netflix, Apple TV, Prime, and Hulu. The Tv seemed to have a good picture if DolbyVision was used but other picture modes required removing the clarity, contrast, brightness and detection settings to make the picture better. After trying each the picture was still washed out and the cpu would lag heavily which was really annoying. Hulu + Live TV is our main app for sports and TV. I still changed the settings for a day as I could not get a better picture. Watching NHL hockey was not pleasant. The puck would skip until I removed all clarity settings and the tv struggled to even when I was just watching. Finally, I had enough and decided to take the TV back the next day. I really wanted to like the U7N but does not consistently show the best picture unless modified. The tv uses a Mediatek MT9816 which seems to struggle a lot with some changes and apps like Hulu. Changing the channel using the onscreen guide was tediulous. The Best Buy team was very professional and help in the return process. They were also quick to bring my replacement LG C3 I had ordered prior. The premium tv brand tax is worth it! You get what you pay for.

Flicker issues

It has a constant flicker that’s happening so it’s very frustrating. Watched multiple reviews on YouTube and they didn’t have the same issue, so maybe it’s just an issue with mine. Still, it’s frustrating and will be filing a claim. Regardless, TV is amazing other than that

Faulty TV

Number 3 HDMI had my Sony blue ray player connected to it and the TV could not detect it. I plugged the Sony into port #2 and it functions properly. Broken HDMI on arrival - unacceptable. The TV is being returned.

TV is slow and looks pixelated!!

The screen randomly blacks out from time to time and the picture quality is not as it is advertised!! The sound quality is good though. The TV also lags a lot! Anytime you click a button on the remote it takes it about 10-15 seconds for the tv to respond! When watching a football games the picture quality looks cheap and pixelated. It's supposed to come with NBA 2K25 but it just says "sold out" even though its a digital download. Spend your money on something else.

Good picture - horrible connectivity

Internet connection drops randomly during the day. Worst tonight at half dozen times in just over an hour. Frustrating and struggling to identify the issue with no other electronics experiencing the same.
