Iam in actual awe with this tv this was the best purchase

My TCL Series 6 (2018) had been having issues with backlighting so it was time for a new TV. I read a lot of reviews from Rtings and AVForums about many brands including Hisense TVs. I was bummed my TCL gave out only in 4 years(not common for this brand), I vowed to purchase another brand. Looking at most recommended TVs the top three premium brands (Sony, LG, Samsung) were highly recommended especially the OLED models but came with the premium brand tax. Memorial Day is always a good time to buy a tv and Best Buy had many on sale including the Hisense U7N 65inch for $799. The U8N model got a great review from Digital Trends so I thought the U7N would be a cost effective and good enough model. Setup was a little slow due some needed Google TV updates. Initially, the tv seemed zippy after install. I tried all of my usual streaming apps like Netflix, Apple TV, Prime, and Hulu. The Tv seemed to have a good picture if DolbyVision was used but other picture modes required removing the clarity, contrast, brightness and detection settings to make the picture better. After trying each the picture was still washed out and the cpu would lag heavily which was really annoying. Hulu + Live TV is our main app for sports and TV. I still changed the settings for a day as I could not get a better picture. Watching NHL hockey was not pleasant. The puck would skip until I removed all clarity settings and the tv struggled to even when I was just watching. Finally, I had enough and decided to take the TV back the next day. I really wanted to like the U7N but does not consistently show the best picture unless modified. The tv uses a Mediatek MT9816 which seems to struggle a lot with some changes and apps like Hulu. Changing the channel using the onscreen guide was tediulous. The Best Buy team was very professional and help in the return process. They were also quick to bring my replacement LG C3 I had ordered prior. The premium tv brand tax is worth it! You get what you pay for.

Picture is great. I am a filmmaker and really care about image quality, accuracy of filmmakers intention of look & feel and this does a great job in all room light conditions. HOWEVER, I stream from an APPLE TV 4k box and from the get go I experienced many audio issues. Essentially, while playing any 4k HDR/Dolbyvision video, video would play completely fine, but audio would experience dropouts that would last from half a second to maybe a second and a half and this would happen at no regular interval, but it would happen often and it would drive me crazy. Upon further search on the internet it became apparent that this was common amongst many owners of this and other model hisense tvs. These dropouts would occur in every condition - audio direct from tv, via bluetooth into headphones, via bluetooth via a sound bar, with all kinds of different settings changed, re starting, factory resetting, both tv & apple tv, using an older 2nd gen Apple 4k, swapping iut every hdmi chord I have in my house including exact setups/combos of devices & cables that work fine with my LG 4k HDR LED TV tv, updating all firmware & software, etc etc. the only work around I have found was to connect all bluetooth devices directly to the apple tv. That has worked fine at least since yesterday morning. Additionally I did just buy a really expensive new hdmi cable and plugged it in and it’s working ok now for apple tv to hisense with audio coming from hisense speakers. Maybe this will be the final fix? But I previously tried at least 5 other cables which work fine with the lg tv and ps5, apple tv etc. so .. I don’t know. Just know it’s been two weeks of trouble shooting and frustration!

Excellent picture quality and motion enhancement. Aside from a few dead pixels and the fact it gets a little slow from time to time, looks great!

Great for gaming as well as movies. Better than a buget t.v. the remote is also great. Much better then the last 2 samsungs i owned.

We use this as a bedroom tv and in the setting it does excellent. Great picture and motion handling and the Audio without a sound bar is acceptable for us, and we have a full home theater upstairs. Overall would recommend as a good value for the money.

I have no regrets on this purchase, the sound is wonderful if you are in a medium sized bedroom and i dont have to fiddle with the settings all the time. Its a point and shoot tv, I play on both consoles and its checks every box during calibration.

Overall good experience with Best Buy. The TV is unbelievable if you are used to lower end models. Truly amazing to see what this tv looks like in comparison, not all 4k is the same. Spent about 1 month deciding between u7 and u8n but you can’t go wrong either way. Hisense did great with this one and pairs great with the Xbox series x I got from Best Buy.

Excellent. Good picture and excellent sound quality

This TV has been the best tv I have ever bought so far. It runs smoothly it creates a seamless experience from watching live tv to gaming to streaming. The quality is great and honestly it has made consuming electonic entertainment enjoyable.

For not being an OLED TV it has excellent colors and black levels. It performs excellently in my living room, mounted on the wall, directly across from windows, with minimal glare. Google OS works well also.

Best tv out there no question about it! Amazing all around. Great refresh rate and quality.

Great picture and sound! I went into the store ready to purchase another tv but the picture quality sold me. Then when I installed it at home I was again surprised by the sound quality! I do not need to use my soundbar. This is a great buy!

Honestly, it's worth saving the extra $$ and getting a Hisense. The picture is amazing. It works just as well as every Samsung TV I have owned. I have had zero issues with it, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. 10/10.

The tv was a great buy. I had lower expectations based on the price, but the picture quality and features are very impressive. The sound quality for a TV is very good. It's not just a good value tv. It's a great tv overall

This TV is rated extremely high at rtings.com, and it lives up to the review. Exceptional picture quality and glare rejection. Sound system is incredible, with 40w and a built-in subwoofer, there's no need for a sound bar. I have recommended this TV to many people since my purchase.

Two weeks in and offers a very good picture under $1000. Im perfectly happy with the 2024 model vs paying over $1000 for the 2025 model.
