Wait for almost 2 weeks for this TV to arrive. TV looked great and easy to unpack. The Hisense U7G is a mid-range model in Hisense. The Hisense U7G has a simple yet high-quality look. The Hisense U7G supports Both Dolby Vision and HDR10. The picture quality in dark environments is really good, and HDR enhanced the high peak brightness. Thanks to the 120 Hz panel, paired with the very low response time of ~5 ms, the U7G can display motions very smoothly. The U7G has HDMI 2.1 interface which is suitable for a 4K 120Hz refresh rate for gaming. The Hisense U7G native sound is loud enough but lacks bass. The U7G support an HDMI-eARC port, hence U7G can transmit uncompressed Dolby Atmos via a Dolby True HD. The TV also fully supports DTS codecs. Thus, you can use any receiver and soundbar to improve the sound quality. U7G is an Android 10 TV, it gives you a good user experience. It is easy to navigate through the menus and the app. I can use Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and Disney+. U7G has Google Voice control build-in, you can use Google voice control to do the Google Search. The only feature U7G lacks is the viewing angle, it is quite narrow. You have to sit in front of the TV to enjoy the quality. Overall, U7G is a impressive budget TV, with this price range. It give the excellent user experience and price. The viewing angles, it is expected from a VA panel. But, low input lag, a good response time, 4K 120Hz and HDMI2.1 port make U7G more suitable for gaming.

This is a great TV, and a solid option for anyone looking for a 4K/120Hz display on a budget. When I got mine, it was just under $800, but I think if you are patient, you can even find them for under $700 now. One thing to note, if you intend on getting a U7G to use with an XBOX Series X, it's worth knowing in advance that the XBOX Series X does not do 4K/120Hz with Dolby Vision. Neither does Playstation 5. As a matter of fact, PS5, if I recall doesn't do a handful of things the Series X does do. So, Dolby Vision with 4K/120Hz, or no, the Series X is the way to go if you are looking for the best console to pair up with a new TV for your New-Gen gaming experience. Devs are going to start releasing Series X/S only content here very soon, and we are finally going to get to experience what these consoles are meant to be doing. And it's only going to get better from there. Just make sure if you are gaming with a Series X and the U7G in 4K/120Hz (which is the ONLY way to game with this pair), that you turn Dolby Vision OFF in the XBOX menu. Failure to do so will cause the system to try to do something it isn't designed to do, and it caused me a HELL of a headache for several months after buying my U7G, where I would get these intermittent blackouts while I was playing games. It SUCKED, and I was scared to death thaty I had just spent all that money for a Series X and a new U7G, and one of them, or both were messed up from the start. No one at Hisense, nor anyone on any of the good forums could help me figure out what in the hell was going on. Unitil I read in a forum that Dolby Vision does not work above 60Hz with ANY console. Once I found that out, I turned Dolby Vision OFF, and just like that, gaming heaven began, and I've been enjoying it ever since. Don't listen to any of the nay-sayers. I promise you, there are a great many people out there who will tell you that the U7G and U8G don't live up to the hype. ALL THOSE PEOPLE ARE WRONG! This TV is the closest you are going to get to OLED quality picture, without actually purchasing an OLED. It makes NO SINCDE to go out and spend more on another brand's non-OLED 4K/120Hz offerings. They will not look or perform any better than the U7G. And even the U8G is unnecessary unless you are intending to place the TV in an inherently over-bright room with lots of outside light coming in. The 1000 nits peak brightness are more than enough to make this TV look amazing. HDR, HDR 10, and HDR 10+, ALL look AWESOME, and all of these formats work with 4K/120Hz, so Dolby Vision is NOT necessary. Honestly, if it's between 4K/120Hz HDR 10+ (or even HDR 10, or just HDR), and 4K/60Hz Dolby Vision... I'm sticking with 4K/120Hz and HDR 10+ all day long, it's not even a contest, and 120Hz is how these new consoles were always intended to be played. There are a handful of games with 120fps capability already, but more are coming. And there are PLENTY of titles that will give you 4K at 60fps right now, and they are awesome, with ray tracing, and VRR, and ALLM, the U7G and the XBOX Series X were made for eachother, and it's one hell of an experience. I've also got my system hooked up via ARC to my ONKYO TX-NR929 9.2 channel network AVR home theater audio system, and it is so badass and immersive that there are times where I just get lost in a game, and you can feel like you are almost IN the game. Things have come a LONG way since I was a kid, and at 38 years old, I still love to play games. I spend the majority of the free time I get these days (which isn't much, but still) in our game room, glued to my XBOX Series X and my Hisense U7G. These two items were the best money that I have spent in a LONG time, and they both deliver on what they say they will and then some. I highly recommend this TV to anyone getting into the new generation of gaming, As far as I'm concerned, the U7G is the ONLY way to go.

I recently set up my television and the picture, sound and quality was perfect. The picture was clear the motions was seamless and smooth that provided great colors and realistic motion. I didn’t have to make any adjustment during setup. The sound quality was nothing short of amazing. I attached to the soundbar for added surround sound. There are many ports for any external attachments you want to add. Streaming from laptop, phone, fire stick. Projector, etc. screen is a nice size. There was ease with changing streaming apps, the remote was user friendly. Voice commands prompted very well. Overall good television.

I've constantly switched between top TV brands over the years but finally wanted to try out a new brand. I'm so glad I did, Hisense has really blown me away with the quality they offer for the absolute lowest price you can find. Seeing it in a big box store can't do it justice, the design blends seamlessly and Android TV works like a charm. It's intuitive to navigate and the remote is a good blend of modern touches designed for Smart TV power users while still being user-friendly to someone coming from a traditional TV. The picture quality is fantastic and playing video games was a crisp and clear experience during fast-paced action. I would highly recommend anyone buy a Hisense TV and seriously reconsider spending a ton of money on traditional brand names when Hisense is doing better for less. I received this TV for a discount in order to review it and all opinions are my own honest thoughts.

This is my first experience with a Hisense TV and I'm very impressed. The picture quality, the speed, and the ease of use are top notch. The navigation and home screen are easy to use and have convenient features. My watching experience has been limited to streaming and hi-def movies and I am very satisfied by the quality and the overall experience. I feel truly immersed in the film. The upscaling of streaming services has ben incredible. I notice more detail and definition. I'm also enjoying having it connected to my smart home devices. The screen size is perfect for me and having it mounted on the wall is very convenient and saves space. Next I'm going to try some gaming and see what the experience is like. I'm imagining it will be fantastic. I definitely recommend this TV to anyone who is looking to maximize the watching experience. Hisense has built a quality product and I'm looking forward to learning all that I can do with this TV. Note: I'm being partially compensated for this review. However, I stand by everything I have said as an honest opinion.

Great Gaming TV at an Affordable Price

This TV is one of the most affordable gaming TVs available today. It includes everything a gamer would want, including HDMI 2.1, variable refresh rate, auto low latency mode, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR. The TV was designed for the latest Xbox Series X and PS5 gaming consoles, but it also performs exceptionally well when connected to a gaming PC. I own a gaming laptop (Alienware - m15 R4) that runs a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. And when connected to the 65U7G TV via an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, I’m able to benefit from all the advanced gaming features the TV has to offer. Aside from excellent gaming features, such as good response rates and low lag time, the TV has great picture quality as well. This model (65 inch) has 90 full array local dimming (FALD) zones. The smaller 55-inch model has 72 FALD zones, and the 75-inch model has 120 FALD zones. It’s important to note that the 75-inch model uses a different screen type/panel, known as in-plain switching (IPS), rather than the vertical alignment (VA) panel the 55- and 65-inch use. VA panels have a better contrast ratio (darker darks and brighter whites) but have limited viewing angles. Whereas, IPS panels have great viewing angles, but a lower contrast ratio. Considering most TVs are VA panels, this TV is no different and can produce vibrant colors for both games and movies. In fact, with the 90 FALD zones, dark scenes are also easy to navigate. There is, however, some haloing around smaller white objects, such as subtitles against a completely black screen, but under normal viewing conditions, it’s not too noticeable. And compared to older TVs with edge lighting, the light bleed from white images on a dark background is minimal and a major improvement. Also, there is slight blooming at the corners of the screen. Meaning, when the screen is completely white, you’ll see a little bit of color distortion near the edges. But it’s not noticeable during regular use. For reference, I own a 2019 model Hisense TV (H9F), and the blooming in the 65U7G is a lot less and hardly noticeable. In terms of the TVs ability to produce High Dynamic Range (HDR) colors, it does an excellent job. The minimum TV brightness for effective HDR is 1000 nits (a scientific measure of brightness). The 65U7G is rated at 1000 nits, so the colors pop when gaming and watching movies. Just like for movies, games also need to be made for HDR viewing. Not all games are made in HDR, but it will soon be the standard. I tested Ori and the Will of the Wisps through the Xbox app on my gaming laptop and the colors were so vibrant and amazing with the HDR setting enabled within the game. It’s also important to enable or unlock frames per second (FPS) within the game. Within Ori and the Will of the Wisps’ game settings, I capped the FPS at 120. This, coupled with the TVs 120Hz variable refresh rate, allowed for smooth gameplay with no screen tearing or image stuttering. Movie watching on this TV is also pleasant. I stream most of my movies from different apps, such as Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max, etc. The TV automatically recognizes when a movie has Dolby Vision and switches to a HDR viewing mode. I prefer Hisense’s HDR Theater Night mode because I prefer the warmer colors that create a more cinematic affect that movies are usually designed for. Other settings I prefer are changing the Local Dimming under Backlight to High, Backlight Level to 80, Color Temperature under Advanced Settings to Low, Motion Enhancement to Off, Motion Clearness to Off, Noise Reduction to Off, Digital Noise Reduction to Off, HDMI Dynamic Range to Auto, Active Contrast to Off, except when in HDR mode, then I have Active Contract at Medium, and Color Space to Auto. Of course, everyone’s preference is different and there isn’t a right or wrong way to adjust these settings. Also, it’s important to change the HDMI Format within the TV’s settings to Enhanced format. This is necessary to enable many of the advanced gaming features, as well as the TV’s eARC abilities. eARC allows me to send Dolby Atmos sound from the TV to my audio/video receiver (AVR). The 65U7G supports full bandwidth lossless Atmos sound using the TrueHD codec. However, since my receiver only has ARC (not eARC), I am still able to receive Dolby Atmos sound, but it’s through the lossy Dolby Digital Plus codex. Since the TV supports both audio formats, as well as many DTS formats, the sounds options are aplenty. In terms of the TVs Smart abilities, it runs Andriod TV version 10. Unlike my 2019 Hisense TV, this year’s model is snappy and smooth when switching apps. My old TV would somethings hang or get bogged down within apps, a common problem with older TV models. The performance issues seemed to be addressed in this model; the interface, steaming, and app switching run without a hitch. Speaking of streaming, I connect my TV wirelessly to my home network. I do have fast internet, and I use a mesh router, so I don’t have any streaming or buffering issues. The TV’s bulit-in wireless ac network card performs as it should, well. A few other notes I want to mention regarding my gaming setup. Like I mentioned earlier, I connect my gaming laptop to the TV. I set the TV as a second screen within my laptop settings. I use NVIDIA’s Control Panel software to make the setting adjustments. I’ll include some screenshots showing some of the setting changes, but I’ll try to describe them here too. The initial setup takes a few minutes to complete, but once you get your computer to recognize the Hisense TV as a second display, you’ll be able to enjoy the same benefits Xbox Series X and PS5 console gamers get from this TV. First, make sure you have the latest graphics card drivers. Then connect an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable from the computers 2.1 HDMI port to the back of the TV’s 2.1 4K 120Hz HDMI port. There are 4 HDMI ports on the back of the TV and only 2 of them support the 120Hz refresh rate. Next, within the TV’s menu settings, set the Picture mode to Game. Next, go into NVIDIA’s Control Panel settings and click on the Setup G-Sync option. If it doesn’t appear, it may by necessary to restart the computer and TV so they can recognize each other properly. Also, make sure the HDMI setting within the TV’s menu is set to Advanced format before restarting. Once the Setup G-Synce option appears, click on the box that enables G-Sync technology, then select the Hisense monitor, then click on the box that says enable settings for the selected display model (see screenshots). It’s important that the Hisense is considered the primary monitor for G-Synce to be enabled. To do this, choose the Set up Multiple Display settings option. Make sure the asterisk is showing on the Hisense monitor; that designates Primary status (see screenshot). Don’t get confused with the numbers assigned to the monitors, the Hisense will most likely be number 2 because it’s the second monitor connected. Also, if you decide to make the Hisense TV the only screen showing (via the Windows key and letter ‘P’ option), then the Hisense screen becomes the primary monitor by default (and the asterisk is not shown). Confusing, I know, but that’s just the way it currently works within NVIDIA’s software. Once G-Sync is enabled, go to the Resolution settings within the NVIDIA Control Panel software. It’s very important to scroll down to the PC resolution and select the 4K setting of 3840 x 2160 and change the refresh rate to 120Hz. At first, when I selected these settings, it didn’t work. The image on the screen looked scrambled. I waited for 15 seconds to allow the computer to reset to the previous settings, then I selected the same 4K PC settings, but choose the 100Hz setting first. The Image on the TV was perfect. I then bumped up the refresh rate to 120Hz and the Hisense TV was able to handle the changes and everything worked perfectly (see screenshot). The last step is to enable HDR within windows. To do so, right-click on the desktop, click on Display settings, click on Window’s HD Color Settings, chose the Hisense display, and toggle the HDR setting to On (see screenshot). From that point on, I was able to monitor the refresh rate, 4K resolution, and HDR status by bringing up the information display on the TV by hitting the up arrow on the Hisense remote (see screenshot). The above steps may seem like a lot, but once done you’ll won’t need to do them again. This TV has a lot of features that both gamers and movie buffs will like. But most importantly, the picture quality is great, especially considering its competitive price. As a PC gamer, I don’t own an Xbox or PlayStation. However, I recently I picked up an Xbox controller and after signing up for Xbox Game Pass, it’s like having an Xbox in our house. And my son is super excited.

The main issue that I have with this TV is that it's not a 75". So if you can spare the $300, its worth the cash. I'm likely to do the same. One downside to this tv however is that the provided mounting screws are too short for mount. The back bezel is shaped a bit funky where it mounts, so I needed to use longer screws. The picture and features are great for under $1K. Full array local dimming creates superior brightness. 120hz looks gorgeous with an XBOX S series or any lower end system and makes this tv very appealing for gamers. I like the Android OS spite some preferring the Google OS instead.

For me it was a choice between this one and the 55 inch U8G, I chose this one bc I figured I’d for sure notice the 10 inch size difference before the 500 peak brightness difference. This was quite a step up from my last tv which was a 50” 4K Hisense but didn’t look nearly as good as this one. I was instantly blown away with how big it was. The amount of customization that’s available and accessibility is quite nice. My PS5 runs great on it. I stream movies straight from the TVs apps and they look wonderful. It even has a browser where I can go to gas digital and catch up on all the new RAPs and LOS episodes. BLOP BLOP doggies, this tv is excellent!!

I'm the type of person who usually sticks with the big three manufacturers, I'm glad I went outside the box for this purchase. The picture quality is excellent, and the brightness adjustment is phenomenal. I had my reservation purchasing a non-traditional TV manufacturer but I'm so glad I did. I am incredibly critical and a bit of a Electronics nerd, but I'm going to tell you right now you can't go wrong with this TV. A BIG THUMBS UP!

It goes well with my ps5 with all the features like 120hz,hdmi2.1,Allm,and Vrrmake this tv a steal. Watching movies in imax Dolby vision is also a huge plus. The U7G is more than likely the best value for feature tv you can find. If hdmi 2.1 120hz 4k paired with a great display is important to you as it is me. It's perfect for Ps5 and high end computer gaming, without breaking the bank. It's not perfect but it gets alot right. Picture gets very bright 1000 nit and the blacks are good but not perfect like oled. The higher the quality content the more I'm impressed. The interface is super quick. I would definitely buy again because you can easily pay double for a tv from other manufacturers that's definitely not as good as this. If this is your price range I'd stick to Hisense u7g

Very bad light bleed in dark scenes see pictures So I exchanged a TCL 6 series for the Hisense U7G regretting it Hisense U7G-Very noticeable light bleeding terrible for any dark scenes if there is something on the screen the whole 25% of the right side lights up its really bad to me picture quality is good in day/bright scenes and colors are vibrant honestly pretty disappointed though as i mostly watch sci-fi with alot of dark stuff and it really takes away from the picture when stuff is washed out because the right side is lit up for some unknown reason also the VRR seems to cause the screen to randomly flash in games occasionally the menus and os work really well and fast compared to the tcl TCL r646-much better blacks by far no light bleed almost at all and much sharper looking image colors are maybe a bit dull but not bad or noticeable kind of think i should of just kept the tcl the panel seemed perfect but the os did not work and VRR cause the tv to strobe and flicker like crazy in the end i wish i would of kept the tcl 6 series i only exchanged it because it was pulled off the shelf/website and it really worried me the os was buggy/VRR was unusuable on the tcl and the hisense is much better in those areas the light leaking is really distracting on the U7G and i feel like i should not have to turn the back light down to 20 and still notice light bleeding but everything is so dim i cant see the movie anymore i do want a refund or exchange but i am afraid of getting something even worse so it really sucks these things are very expensive

I wanted to upgrade my tv and spend many day’s researching what I really wanted. I initially purchased a Sony X80K and did not like it not one bit. Returned that for THIS Hisense U7G and I could not be happier! The picture and colors are very bright and vibrant. As far as clarity, it could be better but will due for me at least. What I like about it is how much you can customize your picture settings. Most TVs like LG just gives you different modes which you can’t adjust. Tv is lighter than most 65” led panels out there. Build quality could be better also but is well built. Overall I am very pleased and happy with this U7G over the Sony X80K.

Awful black clouding from an otherwise perfect TV

If you watch TV in a darkened room, pass on these TVs. The first one was pretty bad, the second one (shown in the phot0) was worse. 'Finally switched to a Samsung 65" Q70A, which doesn't have the clouding issue, but is a less loveable TV otherwise. The Hisense picture was stunning when in a normally lit room Samsung: so so. Hisense played great audio thru my Samsung HW-Q950T. The Samsung TV sounds harsh and dull in its place. I loved the Hisense operating system, home screens, etc. Samsung os sucks. So, pick your poison. Only good part about this journey is that Best Buy Sales and tech crew were helpful and cheerful throughout. Totaltech is absolutely worth the extra money, as is buying from a local vendor rather than Amazon or other sellers who just have UPS drop the set on your doorstep.

Was looking for a tv to game on for my bedroom. I have to say this tv is amazing for gaming. It comes close to my Sony x900h. Definitely recommended for the price.
