Huge improvement over previous U8G tv
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We have the older U8G tv & I wasn’t impressed with that one so I was a bit skeptical to get another one. I’m glad I did, there’s a huge improvement. We have an antenna & the stations all look good, there are doubles of some stations that say nextgentv & those look amazing with bright, clear picture. Blu ray & ultra blu rays also look amazing. DVD’s look good. We subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime video & Apple TV & some of those aren’t 4K but still look good. Setup was very easy, hardest part was logging back into the apps. The stand is very heavy but is in the center of the tv which is nice because it doesn’t hang over the sides of the smaller entertainment center we have it on. I can’t comment on gaming because we’re not gamers. The remote is improved also with longer backlighting time, direct buttons for Netflix, Disney,prime & tubi, I can’t get the voice command to work just yet & Hulu is missing from the detect buttons which I find odd since it’s a common one. I also wish the remote had numbers to select for channels instead of just up & down. The built in speakers are good, they’re loud, I prefer a little crisper sound though. This works with Alexa & has plenty of ports with 4 HDMI, 2 USB, 1 serial, headphone, AV in, LAN & digital audio out. Our older model was pone to constant screen freezing & loss of sound which was only resolved by unplugging it, hopefully this model is better with that. Hasn’t done it so far. So far really liking the upgrade, only reason for 4 stars is the remote & speakers.

Dollar for dollar, one of the best

If sharp picture/high contrast is one of your top priorities, look no further than the U8. The new speaker layout is the best I've had on a flat panel. Volume level doesn't need to exceed 3-5 in our bedroom. Couldn't be more pleased with my purchase at retail price. If you catch this thing on sale, it's a no-brainer.

WOW! NO words!

The U8N is just next level WOW. JUST do it. I can NOT explain hoe GLOSSY vibrant this thing looks . Just WOW. My buddy has OLED he kept saying his OLED looks dated now , His next tv in d Living room he’s looking into Hisense U8 series.

Great picture - NOT retro game friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this tv and it is awesome - the picture is top notch, modern gaming works and looks great - it used to display older game systems awesome in crisp full screen (PS2, PS3, SEGA GEN, NINTENDO ECT..) The last software update (May 2025) now forces 4:3 with no way to change the aspect ratio to full screen or 16:9 - they eliminated that feature if you turn on the no latency mode. It WAS the best gaming tv - if you game buy a Sony Bravia - Sony allows you to change aspect ratios for retro gaming.

Hisense was a good choice!

When we saw it in the store, we were impressed with the picture quality and the price. We are still impressed with this TV. We feel we made a good choice.

Incompatible with surround sound... kinda

BUT If you connect external audio output, it will randomly revert back to tv speaker almost daily. About the 50th time you go to settings and switch it back to ARC, it becomes unbearable. No solutions online. Just a ton of people crying like me. Also, unless you enable the microphone, it will shine an led in your face that you have to paint over. No bypassing this setting and it is quite annoying.

Off Angle Viewing is Unacceptable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I so wanted to buy the U8N 65-inch TV to upgrade my U8H 55-inch TV. It has an unmatched bright and color accurate picture when viewing dead on center, but when viewed off angle the picture is absolutely awful! For my family room, half of the seating is off angle, so I had to settle for the much more expensive Sony X93L which doesn't have as good of a dead on center picture as the U8N, but does have a great off angle picture. Hisense needs to really work on improving its off angle picture quality!

Awful customer service from Hisense
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Less than two months after I bought the TV, one vertical and one horizontal line appeared on the TV screen, indicating that a set of pixels had failed. Until then the TV had worked beautifully, providing excellent video and sound quality. My experience working with Hisense customer service since then has been awful. It took them two weeks after I'd provided all documents/evidence by email to schedule a technician. He arrived 10 days later, diagnosed the TV as not repairable and then literally destroyed it and left it in place in the living room. I had to pay a third party to remove it. The new TV arrived 10 days later. It works fine. Even though I like the TV, I will never buy a product from Hisense again because their customer service is just too painful to deal with.
