Great TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense U8N is a great TV. The picture is very bright and the color is just right. A great TV in any room even a bright room. The sound quality was great. You get a high end TV at a budget price. I connected the tuner to an antenna and picked up several more channels that I could not get before. The tuner also works on new nexgen tv channels too. Overall a great TV.

AWESOME TV!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this TV for just over a week now, and I have to say it is incredible. The picture is amazing. The Mini-LED really creates incredible black levels and contrast but you don’t lose any of the picture detail. The QLED displays colors that are vivid and lifelike. And with such a bright screen and an anti-glare screen with low reflection, I can watch it in a bright room and it looks great! I am amazed at how much better this TV is than my last one. Oh, and it sounds great too with 50 watts of power and a 2.1.2 sound system including a built-in subwoofer. The back-lit remote control is really nice and the smart Google TV really makes it easy to find and watch what you want.

Hisense U8N 65" Rocks! Epic Gaming TV Too!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is exceptional for the value. When wall mounted, it has decent speakers compared to a standard TV setup and is fine for a bedroom setting that way. The picture is fantastic, and it's almost indistinguishable from typical OLED TV's with being able to get deep black backgrounds. This TV can also get realllllly bright, so it's great for a bright room, but you can dial that brightness down with different picture modes for a bedroom or nighttime setting. The menu is sleek and easy to use, and the TV easily connected to my Hisense 5.2 soundbar system. You should definitely not skip tweaking all of the settings to maximize this TV's potential for whatever situatons you use it for. I also ran my NVidia RTX 4090 gaming laptop through the 144hz HDMI port, modified all settings to maximize that frame rate, set it to game mode, and it was snappy and didn't give me any lag like a normal PC connection tends to do. Overall, highly recommend!

The brightest Star can sometimes be the prettiest.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the beauty of this tv really comes from how bright it gets. Both SDR and HDR content look breathtaking. The motion handling isn’t the best I have seen out there and it won’t win any awards for its upscalling either, but this tv gets the job done on a budget. The contrast looks very good due to its mini-led technology. HDR movies truly pop because of the brightness. The colors are fantastic, thanks to the tv having Quantum Dots. Not much to complain about honestly. Compared to an oled that can even get this bright, the value here is truly unbeatable.

Heavy hitting for a low price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV is incredibly bright! The windows that face it don’t cause any glare. Don’t get fooled by those expensive brands this TV gets it done for a fantastic price! Use mainly for a family room TV, minimal gaming but when do very fast with the 144hz refresh rate, streaming and cable tv look fantastic. No soundbar connected but tv surprisingly loud with built in subwoofer.

Hisense U8N setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently got a Hisense 65" U8N from Best Buy. Great TV comparable to higher priced models but get ready to do a lot of tweaking to get the picture just right. These new TVs are quite sophisticated and have many more adjustments onboard. It will also take you a few hours after you get it tweaked to get used to the brilliance, contrast and realism. The people and animals could walk out of the TV! And sound?! Unbelievable! Subwoofer and four speakers built in. A day of tweaking, a day of viewing, so far excellent! I have three lower tier Hisense which have been very reliable.

Bright and colorful.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Trading up from a 5yr old Roku TCL. 65" to 65". Searched for a bright led vs OLED as it's in a pretty bright room. Everything is better. Black levels, ( like added depth) contrast, color, sharpness are all improved. Sound through my existing 5.1 system is even improved. Google works good though I miss the Roku grid view. The remote is nice. Backlit and with a programmable button which I use to access live TV through my TIVO. Still messing with settings and I find them easily accessible and intuitive. Center stand support is solid and a big improvement over tvs with thin legs on each end. Only a couple weeks in but seems to be a good buy.

Better picture quality than more expensive brands.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve done extensive research on a good midrange TV with HDR. I also wanted a TV that supported BOTH Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. This is one of the few TVs that does this and it looks incredible. Super bright and really easy to adjust the settings. Deep blacks and superb color handling right out of the box!

An underdog no more!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Hisense 65 u8n in late July. After reading many professional reviews and researching this set, I stopped at the local Best Buy and ordered it. I'll start with the sound. Unless you require a sound bar system, the built in speakers (2 subwoofers included) is excellent. Movies will rumble, voice clarity is excellent, and it seems to preclude the need for a sound ar. I'm an aging rock and roller, so sound is still important to me. Next, the picture. With a few tweaks in the advanced menu, the picture is phenomenal. I used Rtings and Digital trends and several others to get the picture I wanted. Hisense has come a long way and now makes much higher quality sets. It surpasses the Sony's that I have owned. It is simply that good. This is the 2024 model. Go for it

Excellent TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome image quality, brightness, sound and even the remote control is far superior this year! This is a tremendous TV and IMHO, beats all the competition this year. I did alot of research prior to purchasing and looking at the side by side comparisions with the Sony Bravia, TCL, this unit beats them all in the majority of categories. Be wary of online reviews trying to tout the QM851g as being better, yet even the side by sides and reviewer own commments show the U8N being better. Wonder how much tcl is compensating these guys as the U8N is so much more refined, especially in dark scene detail and specular highlights. All in all it is untouchable for the price.

Solid 4K HDR TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the 65-in Hisense u8n is a solid upper mid-range QLED TV. Once you get the right picture settings, the picture quality is excellent. I personally recommend the theater night mode with most of the clarity settings turned off. I have also found that when watching SDR content, local dimming set to medium and peak brightness set to low provide the best picture quality. When watching HDR content having them set to high is best. I also feel that gamma 2.2 makes the colors more accurate than bt1886 which is the preset. If you want to go deeper into settings, you can get the Spears and Munsil discs. The main complaint I have is with some dirty screen effect and clouding of the panel. This is most evident in light solid colors, or in very dark scenes. This can generally be minimized by turning on local dimming.

Crazy bright, amazing audio, very happy!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely gorgeous! My 9 year old Vizio started to have some of the backlights go out. I'd gotten my mother a 55UH8 back in 2022 and was super impressed with it so decided to look into the latest models. Unfortunately, there weren't many online reviews available. One YouTuber made a bunch of negative reviews about the 55" one. Various sources indicated the 55 is way different than the 65 and the 75 is way different than the 65. My old unit was a 60, so 65 was really what I was looking at. There was a lot of talk about how fantastic the U7N was as well. I went to the nearest Best Buy hoping to see some display units of the U7N and U8N to compare side-by-side, but unfortunately that store had -no- HiSense display units at all(not even the previous generation). The blue shirt that came up to my gf and I was less than helpful. Smug and tried to bad mouth the brand. We almost got into a fight over specs. Last week a review site I trust did their full review(with the 65) and it was a lot of high praise. The night before yet another one of the led's died on my home set. After looking online for shipping a U8N I checked and found one in stock at a different local Best Buy than the one I visited the week before. I added to my cart and hit "buy" and was shocked that I got a text 10 minutes later letting me know to come by and pick it up. Assembly instructions were pretty clear. It's a two person job. One person pretty much is just keeping the tv steady while you mount the stand on the bottom. It's got two positions, one for as far down as possible, the other to clear a sound bar. Unfortunately, my Vizio M512a-H6 covers the ir port on the tv when it sits on the stand, so I have it off kilter as far forward as I could get it(the stand sticks out pretty far). Setup was super fast. Everything is very fluid and responsive. I have an XBox Series X, so I needed to adjust a few settings to allow all the options this tv supports. Only thing I've done is switch it into Filmaker Mode for everything. I tried turning off the ambient light sensor and almost got blinded by how bright the tv adjusted to. All of the games and content I've used on it has looked absolutely fantastic. I've found myself getting on YouTube and doing a bunch of Dolby Vision/OLED demos just to do a bunch of "oooh" and "awww" from the set. For a laugh, I unplugged my sound bar to see what the tv speakers were like. I was shocked how booming and rich they sounded. So those without a sound bar are in for a pleasant surprise. Since my old tv didn't support eARC(only ARC) I had the XBox to the sound bar to the TV to be able to have Dolby Atmos. When the XBox would time out from my gf falling asleep, she'd just wake the XBox back up but the sound bar woudln't wake up. So I'm used to coming home and scoffing at the hollow tinny sound of the old tv before kicking the sound bar back in. With the U8N, I don't think I would notice except for the rear speakers/subwoofer not firing. I'm very-very-very much looking forward to rtings doing their indepth review so I can have some recommended settings to change.

Hisense U8K is Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best tv I’ve ever owned and I’ve had plenty of them and this has a amazing picture and sound with the 50 watt built in subwoofer, at first I couldn’t decide on which brand to buy so I went to Best Buy to see the Samsung Q70,TC QM8 and the Hisense U8N 65 inch and after about 30 minutes of comparing it came down to the overall picture..the brightness and vivid colors and the black level stood out over the other two models and the sound is much better. I would highly recommend this tv.

An almost perfect TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Things I love about this TV are the image quality, the flexibility in customizing that, and the Google TV interface. Things could be better: the audio from the TV itself (but luckily I bought a sound at) and the reactiveness of the OS. Issues I had: I had a fastidious flickering when the setting was utilizing the automatic light sensor. That was solved with a software update in spring, however, since this update, the TV is never in a standby mode when I turn it off and when I press the power button on the remote to turn it on, I have to wait a startup of Google/Android. Let's hope a new firmware update will resolve this.
