    I hate it, problems since day 1. Smoothing is terrible on this TV, pretty sure DolbyIQ adds smoothing too, so that feature is unusable. Handles dark content pretty bad, a show like See from ATV+ is unwatchable on this TV, all the dark areas look blueish. And the worst part is that HDMI-earc never works, Audio Output is grayed out all the time so can't use my sound bar with this. 4K 120Hz is also fake, it downgrades picture quality by a ton.

    Intermittent power up issues and now it is fully dead and just a blinking light...google'd issues with this TV and sure enough, a power board issue. Going to have to chase this with Hisense to get it replaced, but still without a TV and now who knows...don't buy a Hisense...at least google it first.

    Hisense really knows how to lure a customer in. Offer a tv with high end specs at a mid range price while offering a 100 day try it at your own risk. I was curious myself as the “professional” reviews for this tv ranged from good to great. The bottom line is that sometimes its too good to be true. There is a lot to like about this tv, the image quality is great, colors pop, the tv is by far the brightest panel ive ever seen, and despite what others have said I found the blacks to be inky. At certain points the black levels looked close to OLED. The U8G has a lot of great little features too, a backlit remote, a button under the tv that you can press that makes a sound on the remote if you lose it. The tv itsef looks sharp with a nice grey brushed bezel but if you chose to not let Hisense liten to you from the microphone under the tv they will force you to have 4 yellow dot lights shine in your face for all eternity. That was ok with me, the breaking point is the motion. The constant stutter during movies. Watching someones hand judder when waving around was just unacceptable on a 120 htz panel. No motion settings help and Hisense updates were virtually useless including their T-Con update. Some people this might not bother and if thats you, the price for this tv is pretty good. Im glad im able to return it and spend the extra money for the LG C1. You get what you pay for.

    EARC doesn't work. No fix in sight. If you aren't going to use surround sound with EARC, it's probably fine. Otherwise, spend a little extra on a TV that works.

    It is a great television. It wasn’t my first choice but the other one I purchased was a lemon and it got returned. This TV had all the features I was looking for with an improvement for video game with my PS5 and video streaming. It is a very bright tv (too bright sometimes). Sometimes the android iOS acts up and slows down but I soft reset the tv sometimes to help with that or manually stop an app and reopen it. Video quality is great for the price point. You would have to shell out $500-$600 to get something convincingly better.

    Do you research on this TV. It has a higher rating at the price point of a $2200 TV a Sony XR 95J that cost double this TV but this one had a higher rating on a lot of key things that put the u8g 65 better then the top of the line Sony live this tv $985. Great deal. Games are so sweet at 120hz bright bright pics. No more bugs in the software now new updates this company is moving up fast in the tv chain Competing with the big boy names they were

    When I first saw this TV I was sure this was the best one in its price range, it seemed like it had all the features you could want in an ideal Tv for gaming or any application, I looked at all the review sites saying how great this TV is however, that was not my personal experience, when I hooked it up to my Av reciever I connected the TV to the ARC HDMI 2.1 input as anyone would right..then connected my playstation 4 to the game input on the receiver, I popped in Red Dead 2, everything thing seemed fine on the first day of play through, the Brightness was steller, contrast and color gamut were good, but on the 2nd day I noticed the ghosting issue mentioned in reviews, and its was very noticable however, once I plugged into HDMI 60hz, the issue went away, but that shouldn't be happening regardless, another issue I noticed was the screen uniformity was not all that great ,I did notice some banding accross vertical portions of the screen as well as bright spots in the corners. In my playthrough of Red Dead 2 I also noticed some weird motion artifacting that was sort of distracting and took away from the gaming experience. Question is..Should you by this TV? Well since the price went down yesterday to $999.00 instead of $1,249 I definently think this is definently a more fair and accurate price point for this TV. I would not reccomend this tv to a friend however, I ended up exchanging this Tv for a Samsung QN90A which is more on the pricier side, but sometimes you have to sacrifice a bit more money to get what you want out of a TV.

    Where do i begin...This tv is amazing ..I am comparing it to my samsung 65ks8500 which i paid $3000. The quality of this tv is excellent not as good of a build as the samsung but picture quality out weighs that. I have been a samsung buyer for many years but in this purchase i have changed my mind. This tv is not perfect but is far beyond my samsung. The picture quality is superb The gaming is amazing @4k 120 hz on xbox series x. For a gaming tv its amazing also for general viewing..the operating system is android and is much faster than samsung and very quick response. I have now become a big hisense fan..i will not be paying a premium price for a big name brand any long i now have bragging rights on the hisense. I would highly recommend this tv.it is worth every penny of the $800 i spent on it on sale..i would even spend $1200 on this set it is well worth it

    Same ghosting issues as H9G

    I just returned my H9G because of the "ghosting" issues in movement and was going to exchange it for this newer model U8G thinking the issue would have been fixed, but it hasn't been. In fact, any movement on either model is not handled all that great and when you use the Motion Blur and Judder settings they tend to create artifacts on the moving images. I'm not allowed to post a link here so just do a search for this exact statement and you will be directed to it. ( Hisense u8g 65 real world use ) My H9G had a manufacture date of Dec,14th 2020, only 5 months ago. So, I'm guessing that they were already producing the newer replacement model U8G while the H9G was winding down production. When all the complaints started coming in about the ghosting issues on the H9G it was already too late and they didn't want to stop production on the newer U8G. In my opinion the U8G should not even be released to the retail stores for purchase to the public. The second reason that I returned the H9G is because the 4K upscaling is horrible on cable. On 720 and even 1080 resolution the picture looks soft, blotchy and has no sharp detail. To be fair though, this seems to be an issue on all the newer TV's. I have a Samsung KS8000 4K (2016) and the upscaling is done very well. On the channels that are in 1080 it looks as if I could reach right in and touch the person. I don't know what they are doing differently now, but I guess the newest technology is not always best, if something isn't broken then don't try o fix it. Maybe there should be an option on TV's to set the resolution to 1080 for people who don't watch a lot of 4K content. So, the way it stands now, if I buy a new TV I'll be downgrading my cable viewing experience......how sad.

We're so sorry that you've experience this issue with your TV, Yes there is fix to the Ghosting images, please go to settings>>device preferences>>about>>system update>> move to check for update (DO NOT click on the update button) instead press the arrow pointing up button on the remote four (4) times, the Tcon update message will prompt on the screen, click OK to start the upgrade. This upgrade will take about one (1) minute and is going to be a black screen during the entire process. Please do not unplug or power off the TV during the update process it will automatically restart. Hisense

    Had this tv for a couple years. Outside of the dead pixels from wiping screen off its been solid. Going to buy a new one in January but has held up for the most part! Would re purchase if i could!

    I did receive this TV at a discounted price in exchange for your honest opinion So, for my opinion, the Hisense 65U8G TV is overall a good product. It has many nice features including “smart” capabilities. The picture is very clear, as long as you have a solid signal to provide the 4K image. The sound from the built-in speakers is good too, very clear and gives a little surround effect. The “smart” features is good, when it works. We enjoyed saying “Hey Google” and hearing the weather or switching channels, but it disconnects often. Aside from that frustration, it really is a good TV.

    While I love the picture, its easy to navigate home screen, Android Smart Platform, this tv does have one major flaw: I am constantly, on a weekly basis, having to clear its cache... If I don't clear the cache, the smart platform starts crashing, apps close on their own and the tv eventually becomes rendered useless and unwatchable. The first time this happened, I was on the phone with customer service for a couple hours trying to get my one month old tv working again and we only resolved the issue after doing a complete factory reset... IF they would simply add a feature, hopefully in an update, to add a schedule to routinely run a cache cleaning, I am confident this issue would be resolved. At that point I would gladly change the rating to 5 stars and recommend the tv to others. Till they announce something like that, stay away from this tv. As it stands right now, if I forget about clearing the cache, the tv reminds me by randomly closing whatever app I'm running on its own. This is particularly frustrating when in the middle of a show or movie and having to run the cache cleaning process and then restarting the tv...
