Best value for QLED/ULED you’ll fine
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a rocky start but after playing around with this tv for a bit I can confidently say this is a great tv for the price you’re paying. OLED is a different comparison but for led TVs this seems to be the winner this year when you look at the price and value you get compared to its competitors like the Samsung qn90a. Not to mention this tv has two hdmi 2.1 ports where Samsung only has one. Had a bit of an issue in the beginning with the tv flickering but unplugging it and plugging it back in fixed it. HDR is very impressive and this tv gets BRIGHT! Almost too bright at times where I have to adjust it. The OS is very responsive which I liked. Video games run pretty smoothing. I definitely appreciate how dark the blacks are with very little blooming. It’s always best to adjust the settings a bit to get the best picture for yourself but surprisingly it’s already pretty good out of the box. Small tweaks were good for me. Reason I give this a 4 instead of a 5 is because I feel the motion enhancement could be a little better. I guess some people don’t like the soap opera effect but I actually enjoy it but when you have motion set to smooth you’ll see little artifacts here and there which if I’m not mistaken is common for most TVs anyways. Just some does it better than others. Another thing I noticed that I found odd was that streaming movies or shows it’s not as clear as I feel like it should be. When I watch videos on YouTube especially HDR content it tends to look sharper than streaming content on YouTube tv Netflix Disney+. Overall I definitely believe this is arguably the best buy (no pun intended) for an qled/uled tv this year with great value for the price. Even the remote I appreciate. Aside from it being a backlit remote, I love that the apps I use all have their own buttons on the remote

You Must Check This TV for under $1000
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this TV that I purchased approximately 2 years ago. It has a fantastic picture, very close to that of an OLED... and you don't have to worry about burn-in. The picture quality and colors are stunning. The brightness is almost too bright, you may want to turn it down. The black tones are incredible, hard to tell it is not an OLED panel. Even the response time of the picture is very fast including response time jumping from one app to another. Since the time of purchase, I can say the TV has received at least 3 Android updates one of which I received about 2 weeks ago. All in all it is a great buy, and the manufacturing quality is amazing, the TV is quite heavy and the remote is great. I would never expect this from a brand that is not as well known as Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, etc. Great TV, and I would absolutely purchase another one when I need it, and you should too, or at least check it out, I would not steer you wrong. Hope this helps. -aj

A no-brainer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a wonderful tv. I wanted something with a good screen that would be great for console gaming, but that could also have VLC for easy direct streaming from my local network media server. These requirements narrowed my options down to Hisense, TCL or Sony. The Sonys were way overpriced and it seemed the Hisense beats TCL on screen quality and upscaling. Glad I went with the Hisense. The screen is terrific, black blacks, excellent brightness, very crisp and vivid picture, wonderful colors. It is dramatically better than budget models like the Vizio V series I had previously. Gaming consoles are great on this tv. Xbox 360 at 1080p looks great on this tv, games play as visually smoothly and crisply as the console is capable of. Xbox Series X is glorious--once you enable the necessary settings and game mode on the tv, the series x reports tv capabilities with "all boxes checked." Tv signal check confirms it--4k, 120hz, HDR etc. Absolutely great! The android os is a user friendly version of that platform, quite customizable, and many apps available. It works smoothly and with little to no lag. This tv works great with local network media servers. I installed VLC and steam straight from a dedicated media pc with RAID hdd storage array. This tv has handled various formats I throw at it--MKV h.265 bluray rips are no problem, it'll do old avi files, anything h.264, it actually does better than a dedicated android box I have for a different tv. I have a big collection of DVD rips and this tv does a really nice job upscaling old 480p/480i content. Obviously it's not going to be mistaken for 4k, but it does much better with SD than a lot of other tvs, especially budget models, bout also within its own class. 1080p HD sources upscale quite nicely as well, with full 4k UHD sources looking better but not THAT much better. I'll note that the tv does does take some tweaking of settings to get looking right. I use game mode for console gaming of course, but for other video sources from classic big budget films to shoddy YouTube videos, I tend to like standard picture mode with high local dimming, Film motion enhancement, motion clearness on, active contrast off--but you do you! As for cons, there are a couple. One, there's no analog audio out--only digital audio; analog video in is done with an included RCA to mini adapter which is disappointing. The remote could also be better. The rounded shape doesn't fall easily to hand, and causes it to be unstable on couch arms and end tables. The buttons have a nice feel and click to them, however the backlighting is not very useful since it doesn't go on until after you've pushed a button, and doesn't stay in but a second. It should have motion sensing and customizable backlight timeout. Dual band wifi is very nice, but I use hard wire ethernet and am disappointed that the tv doesn't have gigabit ethernet, it's only 10/100, sure it's enough to stream 4k but really that's just an obsolete adapter and only done by manufacturers to be cheap. Finally, I don't use the voice control but appreciate that there is a hard cutoff switch for the mic, that's a great touch. However, the mic module has a series of too-bright LEDs to indicate mic status. The lights have a mind of their own, sometimes on, sometimes off. They are not controlled by the setting that allows you to turn off the power LED--but they should be! I put some light blocking stickers on mine. Overall, though, this is a great tv for gamers, movie lovers, streaming all the latest ultra high def content, and for those who like to "roll their own" streaming also. I'm hard to please but I do recommend this high performance, above average tv!

My Review After 6 months (Cuz I Shipped It)
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best budget TV of 2021. It has excellent blacks, good enough motion, HDMI 2.1 and eARC for those who need it and awesome colours.....I mean the colours are just amazing and don't get me started on the brightness. I always keep the ambient light sensor on to avoid burning my retinas. In summary, yes it's a great TV for both normal viewing and gaming. The Android interface is quick and easy to use and the sound is surprisingly good for this price. And also viewing at an angle is not as bad as others are making it out to be.... Is there panel lottery? maybe but my panel is excellent. If you are still on the fence about this TV, buy it and save some money unless you are obsessed with the big 3 (LG, Samsung and Sony) or are waiting for the 2022 model (U8H).

Overall happy with TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great value for picture and features for price. 65” on flash sale $849. Mounted on wall in narrow room. Picture is stunning and very bright but black levels very good for LED. OS is fast and easy to use (Android). Took away one star for following: motion handling was off on some content but fiddling with settings smoothed it out. Brightness may be too much for your eyes in darker rooms/nighttime without adjusting the settings, but it’s perfect for daytime watching.

Great tv
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a great tv overall. The colors and brightness on this tv are insane. Black levels are great and close to oled. Gaming on this tv is also great. There is some banding on this tv and ghosting happens in game mode but hisense says they are working on a firmware update. The android interface is also very snappy which is awesome. This tv is way better than my x900h from last year. That tv was such a disappointment hence still waiting for an update for the gaming features that were promised.

Outstanding TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense 65” U8G Android TV produces excellent bright color and contrast, along with sharpness of detail that competes with the best TVs. The back of the TV has a diamond pattern which gives the TV design some uniqueness. The 65U8G’s has a boomerang style stand which uses two triangular feet that form an arch for the TV to sit on. The stand provides a sturdy, if slightly wide base. The 65U8G has four HDMI ports on the left side: two that support HDMI 2.1 and two that support HDMI 2.0. One of the HDMI 2.1 ports also does serve for connection to a soundbar or receiver. All are located on the left side and are easily accessible. For network connection the U8G offers Wi-fi or wired Ethernet. The 65U8G has two speakers that delivers decent overall sound for a TV, it creates a wide sound and has some bass, where many TVs produce none. Menus load quickly and apps launch within seconds. Our Samsung TV does take some time to load esp when just plugged. The Home screen of U8G shows recommended shows, favorite apps and shows that you’re currently watching. You can customize the home screen to personalized recommendations, and pick your favorite apps. The remote control flat bottom that lets you stand it up vertically which is also uniqur. While the TV includes hands-free Google Assistant, you can also push the Google Assistant button on the remote. All-in-all, it's one of the best smart TVs for streaming your favorite content. It does all this for a reasonable $1,299.99 for the 65-inch model. Not to forget, I got this TV at a discounted price in exchange for a detailed honest review.

Very good TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV back in November. After a lot of research and reading reviews, I determined that the Hisense U8G was the tv to buy for my living room. After 3 months I can say, It is the best value within the price range. Android tv is smooth and I really like all streaming services and the continue watching option in one place. For some, the factory settings may need some adjusting. I found some videos for the Hisense U8G settings that will definitely make watching tv experience next level. It may take a bit of research but it is worth a try. Factory settings are okay for most regular users. Gaming on this tv is truly amazing. The 120hz on PS5 is definitely an amazing experience for a gamer like me. My only con is that sometimes I noticed judder or slightly stuttering effect when watching cable tv. Overall I recommend the Hisense U8G if you are on a budget and want the best quality under 1k.

Exceptional Value With Minimal Compromise
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brightness is off the charts. I could almost feel the heat of the flames on the screen. Local dimming really does produce inky blacks. TV does get really hot. Had to move my set away from the thermostat so I wouldn’t freeze. HDMI 2.1 features seem to work. Don’t see the ghosting others have mentioned, but I have seen some poor motion processing on rare occasions. Sound is so good that I don’t think I need a soundbar. Coming from a TCL 4 series, I can say this is worth 2x more. Having borrowed an LG OLED, I’d say its better value, but the color is not quite as good. I prefer the brighter, more saturated look anyway. OLED black crush and blue tint is off putting for my use case (occasional films and mainly gaming). Overall, impressed for the price.

Great tv once software is updated.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV is overhyped in my opinion. I went with the 65inch u8h. The blacks are compatible to an OLED even in a dark room. 4K content looks amazing. However any 1080p content or less is not upscaled well. Image looks can look very blurry. I’ve tested many different settings and can’t get it to upscale well. Motion is handled better by my $300 LG 4K tv. Scenes containing trees or such look blurry and jittery. I would wait until software updates come out. It has potential but out of the box not worth the high sticker price. I would have returned it if I had a truck. I’m not totally disappointed just bc 4K content looks really good, gaming on the Xbox series x is pretty good for a tv. But for competitive games, a monitor is the way to go.

Hisense Uled 65 inch TV
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is seriously good for the price paid. I have had for 2 years and love it. I did hook up a Samsung sound bar e-arc to it. My games look great and movies look great. There are several easy options in the menu to adjust the tv to your viewing preferences. Very sharp, colorful, I don't notice lag in mmo's either.

Punches waaaay above it's weight class
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV looks great and with ability to display in HDR10+ or Dolby Vision you're pretty much set to watch any UHD Movies. This TV gets bright, I mean blindingly so. Dolby vision can be blinding if your watching in a dark room and don't adjust some settings and white subtitles will wash out the colors around them as the whites can reach over 1000 nits. Once you get the hang of the settings this TV is amazing with it's quantum dot technology, 120hz panel, and true HDMI 2.1. My only issue with this TV is the stupid legs it comes with, it literally makes the underside useless to set up a sound bar.

Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had this TV for a day now (65" model), so I'll update my review if anything changes, but so far it's a great TV. I've watched a lot of Netflix and played PS5 and Nintendo Switch. I haven't experienced any ghosting or artifacts. I upgraded from a 6 year old 47" 1080P LG LCD. The other TV I considered was the LG CX, but I was worried about the brightness and possible burn-in. The PS5 looks great out of the box in game mode. I just enabled HDR. I don't particularly care about 120 Hz or VRR. For the Switch, I needed to tweak some settings. On the TV I set it to game mode and enabled overscan. On the Switch, I set the resolution to 1080P and the RGB mode to limited. Now it looks great. This TV is great value. I really like the premium look with the aluminum stand and chrome along the bottom. The cable management in the back is nice. The fact that the remote is backlit is nice. My Vizio sound bar worked out of the box with HDMI. There's even a hardware mute switch for the microphone at the bottom if you're concerned about privacy. The Android OS is also really nice. The blacks on this TV are insane for a non-OLED. Overall I highly recommend this TV. Again I will update my review if I run into any problems but so far I can't find anything wrong.

High Quality Set at a Great Value
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this tv for 2 weeks now. This tv gets super bright. Fantastic black levels for an LED at this price point. Beautiful picture, with minimal calibration. Plus, I'm really enjoying the Android OS. I have seen a bit of stutter and judder when streaming, particularly with content that is lower than a 4k resolution. However, this doesn't seem to be an issue when playing content from an Xbox X using a 2.1 HDMI cable, so it seems to be specific to the apps. Overall, it's a high quality set and a great value!

Has top tier specs but quality somewhat lacking
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV due to having VRR, 120hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support. Sounded perfect for my Xbox Series X. However, noticed there were definite issues when using all features together. Screen flickering, purple ghosting/afterimages etc. To eliminate you have to pick and choose which features to use. Overall, probably a good TV for someone who isnt as picky as me, but if you want ALL the bells and whistles to work all at the same time, you might want to go for a higher end TV.

Worked great for 2 years then suddenly stopped
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture, features and sound at a great price. The bottom legs seemed odd especially if you wanted to add a sound bar but the sound is better then my Samsung without a sound bar. Had it for almost 2 years and the picture stopped working but luckily I had bought the 5 year protection and they replaced it since it wasn't cost effective to fix it. Love the new Hisense I replaced it with so hopefully it will last longer. The newer TV comes with a manufacturer 2 year warranty but bought another 5 year Geek Squad protection just in case.
