Hisense makes sense for PS5.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this tv specifically to pair with a PS5. The gaming at 120 fps is awesome. This tv has an actual HDMI 2.1 port, the original spec hdmi 2.1 not the watered down revised 2.1. Brights pop and blacks are very deep for LED.

tweak the settings to get amazing picture.........
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great picture quality. Have to mess with the settings alot to get the best picture. my picture settings are standard across all sdr/hdr/hdr10+/dolby vision to get great brightness contrast and the colors to pop local dimming is high across all backlight is 100 across all filmmake off across all Color space is native across all/ very important to use native because color space on auto washes and mutes the colors in SDR: Color temp- mid-low(most accurate) motion- clear NR/DNR -medium active contrast- off in HDR/Dolby: Color temp- mid-low(most accurate) motion- standard NR/DNR -off (made only for 720p or lesser content so don't use on HDR/Dolby) active contrast- high Don't use dolby atmos sound feature unless you have a sound system/soundbar for it. the built in speakers suck for atmos. also make sure to download an app to close background apps to keep the processor from being overloaded if you plan to use the built in apps and take advantage of the device assistant app to keep the tv optimized

Great picture, not great motion handling
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on this TV is great. Gets very bright and colors are good. However, the motion handling on mine is terrible. Not sure if I got a bad panel or what, but the picture occasionally looks almost robotic when objects move... like its having trouble handling/processing the smoothing out of the motion. Kind of looks like skipping or buffering? It is very distracting. I have read about software updates being released that help, but my TV is still on the old software and never finds an over-the-air update no matter how many times I check for one; that is also super frustrating.

Great TV - Performs better than expensive brands
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV solely for my new Xbox series X. Absolutely love it. After following set up guidelines, this TV checked all the boxes for my new Xbox. Price was absolutely wonderful, and the TV performs better than many of The more popular brands within the same price range… in fact, my wife thought the picture of the TV looked better than our new LG QNED 80 TV (which is also nice). The TV itself comes with a suit of useful apps, four HDMI ports (2 of which are 2.1), and has a built-in cable guide to minimize cable clutter behind the TV. This was an absolutely wonderful purchase, and I strongly recommend it!

Best Purchase Of 2021
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is one of the best purchases I have made of 2021. The picture quality is amazing, near/about Movie Theater level. It has brings out so much highlights and details that I didn't get with my Vizio p65qx-h1. (I thought the p-series quantum x picture was amazing) but this u8g picture topped it and I have had this tv for almost two months now. Sound is great even without soundbar but I still would use a soundbar. Performance is amazing, no lag or slowdowns. Upscaling is great, don't listen to the people who are hating on this. This tv upscales as good as any 4k tv can at this point. If your on the fence about this tv. I was as well before I got it and I'm super happy that I did. Also for anyone who gets this tv or has it. Please use these Professional Picture settings over Rtings. I tried the rtings and it was bad but these Professional ones brought out the maximum picture quality that the tv can achieve and you'll amazed once you do. Here's the link to the page with all picture modes and settings, try it out, and I promise you, you will love this tv like I have. https://www.avsforum.com/threads/hisense-u8g-best-picture-settings-2021-final-update-10-4-2021.3204263/

Big bang for the $989
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say the 65" U8G is well worth the low price tag. Bought this for $989 a week ago and have been chacking the price since then. I see the price fluctuating every couple days, so it's like hit or miss on what you will pay. After setting the system up and calibrating it, I would say this is almost as good as it gets for LCD vs OLED. If you like brightness, good contrast, and vivid colors I'd recommend this TV to anyone. Just rember to upgrade your firmware to the newest L0721, and perform the TCON update as well. I believe TCON is only available on the 65", not the 55" TV. This addressed an issue with blooming on some content. As far as sound quality directly from the TV speakers, don't know because I have it hooked up to my sound bar with Dolby Atmos and it's awesome. In the end, HiSense hit this one out of the park.

Outstanding
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great buy, deep blacks and color that pops. I returned a Sony X90j in favor of the U8G and I haven’t looked back. Amazing picture quality a great price!

Great Picture and Bright
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this tv. Great when watching 4K movies, playing on the Xbox Series X and streaming. Apps are pretty good but some do not offer Dolby Vision or Atmos support and other boxes do. Easily solved by external streaming box, currently using Nvidia Shield pro myself. Colors are amazing to me, blacks are actually black. I do not have any bleed thru on my panel. Tweak to you preference of course. Sound is actually pretty decent for a tv. We used the speakers for a month while looking for a soundbar. To truly enjoy surround and atmos you do need to invest in a soundbar or receiver. If you looking for a tv I would definitely take a look at the store and compare this one to any others. For the price you are getting a whole lot of tv compare to the main stream tvs.

Great pic, bad motion handling
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture was better than almost every TV I tried. Unfortunately the motion struggles, especially in darker scenes in video games and movies.

Punches well above it's weight
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV (65") after having a comparable Samsung 65" for a week, ended up returning the Samsung as the Tizen OS was not what we were used to (Android OS - easy to Chromecast and wide app selection) and the Samsung also struggled with motion judder. Best decision ever. Hisense TV Pro's: - Image quality, sound, handles motion well, very fast OS / response times, beautiful to look at Con's: - Annoying yellow Led lights at front (can't turn off) The Hisense knocks it out the park in every area, including judder & motion smoothing (120Hz native), sound (loud, clear & booming bass - enough to not even have to consider a sound bar) - but the best part is the image - so bright, clear and smooth it's unbelievable. Actually can't believe how a Hisense TV can leave a Samsung in the dust like this (both were in the $1100-$1200 range). Very nice, classy looking TV (bezel, stand, etc.) and some cool brackets at the back to clean up messy cables. My only gripe is that you can't turn off the super annoying bright yellow LED's at the front (like, ever) so found some threads where guys advised taping over it with some black electrical tape - and that's exactly what I did. This TV punches well above it's weight and removes other big name players from the buying decision, in my opinion. Well done Hisense. Pro-tip: turn up the lower frequency in the equalizer (sound settings -> advanced) for some added bass :)

Love This TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best all around 65 inch TV for the money. Picture is bright with very good details. I use 4 streaming service to watch TV, and all look so good. I tried a 65 inch Sony x90j that just wasn't worth the money. Then had a 65 inch Samsung qn85a that had motion issues. Then ordered a 65 inch LG qned 90. That was a very good TV when working properly. But, every once in a while had what I would call mini search or spotlights show up across the bottom of the screen that would eventually go away after 5-10 minutes. Based on a Geek Squad District Manager's recommendation. I ordered the 65 inch Hisense U8G. Zero complaints after a month, and half.

Great picture in bright room, a fantastic tv!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredible tv for the price. I looked at other sets and this by far had the best bang for the buck. The picture is amazing. I have the set in a room that is very bright during the day and the tv handles the light coming on it with no problems.

Outperforms other TV's in it's price range.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of comparison shopping and saw this was highly rated for it's price range, so idecided to purcahse it. The quality of the picture on this TV rivals those that are 150% higher price-wise. I rate this 5 stars based on picture and value. The remote control is only as good as how you setup your inputs, as there are so many variables with Tuners, surround sound speakers, Cable TV systems, DVD players etc. so I dont think it's fair to comment on this other than to say my setup works fine for me! If you take the test drive and your expectations are set in advance you'll agree that this does a great job for the price and could indeed rival more expensiveTelevisions.

OK while it lasted.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture in most instances was very good, especially with bright images. Scenes containing a great deal of darkness or shadow would always cast auras from the backlighting that could be distracting. Very good sound quality. Unfortunately after about a year, apps would begin crashing and returning you to the Home Screen, and worst case the Home Screen would repeatedly crash and restart, forcing you to unplug the tv.

Nice tv for the money. Some was issues.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good tv when you can find a good one. Purchased this tv 3 times. First tv had great colors and backlighting but crazy bad red motion blur and bad ghosting. Second tv arrived dead on arrival. Third tv worked great but has a bit of flash lighting going on from the back lighting. May take a try or two to get a good one.

Flagship television under $1k is unheard of
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture just a step below oled but much brighter, 1,500 nits, that I need for my very bright family room. To buy a flagship 65 inch television, all be it last years model, for under $1K is unheard of. I had hope for a 75 inch when I upgraded but now just sit closer, viewing one of the best pictures I have seen, having been looking for over a year to upgrade from my outdated but still good looking plasma even at 1080P.
