Known issue with Hisense
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So at first I loved HiSense Tvs and honestly i bought 5 of them! I bought this one and 2 65 inch u7g and 2 75 inch u8g models . I bought these because the picture quality was fantastic and the price wasnt bad either. Im a andriod guy and i loved the User interface and andriod setup with google tv. So far the TVs have all been good to me but there is 1 major issue which you can look into yourself. It seems Hisense has a major firmware issue thats been going on for years and the Apps on the tv close or kick you outto the homescreen. This is such a pain and happens to all my tvs. It seems Hisense just doesnt care and doesnt fix the issue or put out an update to fix it. Because of this i can not possibly give this tv a good review. Its very problematic if you only use apps with no cable provider. This has been going on for long time and i spoke to Hisense and they are aware of the massive issue...with no fix

Meh
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can barely tell the difference between the $250 black Friday Hisense and this except this one is $1,000 more expensive. The 120hz in gaming is nicer, colors are a bit better. Motion is awful until you do the hidden update. Could have been and maybe eventually will be a great TV but likely needs several firmware revisions which seems unlikely at this point. Better luck next year Hisense.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buy this while you can. $1000 tv was on sale for $429. I have it in the garage and it doesn’t disappoint. Clarity and sound are both on point. Great for sports

Best TV under $2000!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the brightest, if not THE brightest tv's on the market. It has HDMI 2.1 & an amazing amount of color volume and the pricez well... you can't find a single tv under $2000 that comes close. Just be sure to pay attention that the 65" has almost 3 times as many dimming zones as the 55"

Good.. for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid 4K TV with some flaws. It’s definitely not OLED, let’s start there, on most shows and games the backlight dimming is good, but there’s some significant blooming you will notice. Also there is some artifacting that shows up in motion scenes where the TV just can’t keep up, it makes me wonder if it truly is 120hz because some scenes are just super blurry even after tweaking with the settings for hours I’ve gotten it to a minimal point but it’s very distracting on 4K TV shows that are supposed to run smooth, and you can see the frame stutter. Picture quality is amazing, and colors are very accurate and you can tweak it to your liking, but again my issue is with how the Tv handles motion and blacks. At this price point I know it won’t beat OLED but if you’re on a budget and want next gen specs, this is the best you can get, as of right now; obviously that could change very soon. Also it sucks only having ONE HDMI 2.1 port, because the other one gets taken up by your sound bar since that’s the eARC port. You will need to spend about $60 on an HDMI switch to be able to hook up, say a PS5 and an Xbox series X to get all the benefits of 2.1 which is pretty annoying, I wish I would’ve spent a little more and gotten the LG C1 that has 4 HDMI 2.1 ports and is OLED 120hz panel

Buy it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a crazy amount of research prior to purchasing a 65" TV. This was so highly reviewed almost everywhere so I ended up getting the U8G. So far I am very pleased, the black level is so superior to my 4 year old Samsung I cannot believe it. The brightness is what most reviewers seem to praise, however I use it in a dark room, but it is bright. The Google/Android operating system is nice as it totally replaced my Firestick. It sometimes acts as if I ask a question when I did not otherewise I love it!

Not for me
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great pic at times, gaming at 4k 120 is smooth but 4k 60 has alot of ghosting. The motion and upscaling on this tv is bad. Android TV was smooth. Returnedd the tv after about a week

Exceeds Expectations ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this tv now for 2 weeks and it has exceeded my expectations. The picture is bright & sharp. Color & black scenes are excellent. The volume control is better than the Samsung curved tv it replaced. Setting up was not an issue at all. There are plenty of youtube videos if you want to change any of the settings. Right out of the box the tv performs awesome. Hisense has really upped its game with this model.

Underdogs do win sometimes...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted an above average performance and quality 75". I wanted something that outperforms the Walmart and Sams units. After a ton of research, I went with a big brand name tv here at Best Buy that was near $3g's. After spending hours in settings over a week and a half the only thing that it did well was be 75". Returned it. Did a ton more research and found that 2021 was the year the "big brands" made lemonade with their lemons instead of making tv's worth what their sticker prices are. In several cases this years model were outperformed by their own previous years models but still asked a hefty price. Unfortunately the only 75" tv's that could out perform this one was more than double the price of this 65" and they had their own issues as well. With this U8G I found a tv that notches almost all of my boxes. Been using it now for weeks and it does most everything I need it to and is a fraction of the price. Bye, bye waste of time and money "big brands". For 2021 you cannot find a better performing 4k TV for under $3,000. I will use this no name half price tv that does it better until the big boys make a product worth investing a good chunk of a salary in.

Very Nice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic t.v. for the price. I have an OLED and a Samsung 4k 9000 series that was $3k new. I'll never spend that kind of money on a TV again if they keep making TV's like this. I have it in the cave/media room. High end gaming computer, PS5, and Xbox series x hooked up to this through and Onkyo TX-nr7100. Once I got all the settings right everything looks great. Very satisfied with my purchase.

4k at 120fps is awesome on Xbox!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only had it for a month or so but it's a blast playing Xbox with 4K and 120fps on a 65" screen. Picture quality is excellent, TV looks good, was fairly easy to mount, and google works great thru the TV and don't need an extra Google Nest in the living room now. Sound is decent with TV speakers but it's a super thin TV so not too much room inside for speakers but optical connection to my Klipsch speakers is awesome with no complaints there

Amazing Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is amazing! I use it as the main tv in the living area and have no complaints. I read that it's good for games too, specifically the next gen consoles but haven't hooked up my PS5 yet There is an issue I can't figure out with my Sonos Arc connected to to the HDMI port. Sound will go out then come back. I turned off eARC in the settings on the TV and issue is resolved Also, I wish they made the U8G in a 75in.

Pretty good, but not perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is great, but there are a few small issues that probably aren't a big deal for most. The picture and responsiveness are great, and it does what it's supposed to do. The biggest issue for me is that it seems like in any picture mode other than Game and HDR Game, there seems to be some random frames dropping every once in a while. Putting the picture mode to Game seems to alleviate the issue. Unfortunately, you can't use a Game picture mode if you are using the built-in software. Also, there is no HDR10+ or Dolby Vision game mode, so when those two technologies are being used, I still see random frame drops every once in a while. Secondly, it seems like once every 2 weeks or so, when I turn it on there is a strange double-image thing going on. I see it right away, and turning the tv back off then on again takes care of it, so not too much of a big deal. Other than that, the TV is great.

The hype is real!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hisense is knocking it out of the park with this unit. I've always been a Sony and LG tv guy and hesitant about buying from one of the "budget" brands but Hisense IMO has now surpassed the others and are on par with the big 3 brands, if not better in some aspects. As for the U8G, I am pleasantly surprised at the picture quality you get for the amount of money. Throw on some 4k HDR content on YouTube and you'll see how inky the blacks are along with the really accurate colors that just pop off the screen. To me, most important is the motion handling and this tv does an amazing job at it. I set the motion mode to "clear" for most content and I haven't experienced any ghosting or blurry artifacts. Typically, you have to pay double to get a set that excels at motion handling. I could go on and on but do yourself a favor if you're in the market to buy a tv and at least try this one out. The Android tv interface is extremely snappy and the tv turns on and off within an instant of pressing the power button on the tv remote or power button a streaming device (I use an Apple TV 4k). No way you can get this much value from a big name brand tv. If you buy a mid-level tier tv from one of those brands you're still paying more than what it would cost to buy this U8G and you'll get a much inferior picture and way less features. Even their high end tv's can't compete with this one in certain aspects. Perhaps they do a few things better, but then again you're paying double the price. I'm especially excited to see what Hisense can create in the future. The better they do the better it is for us the consumer!
