Some may not have heard of the Hisense brand, but that may be changing with this line of TVs. This is such an impressive TV, and at an incredible price for what it has to offer. While it may not beat an OLED display, the brightness, color and picture quality are excellent. It truly is an impressive picture. Combined with the built-in Google TV platform, it's a great package. Sound quality is good, especially for TV speakers and supports Dolby Atmos One of the big features this TV supports is 120Hz, which is a great feature to have if you plan on doing gaming on this TV. To compliment the fast refresh rate, it also supports VRR to keep you from getting those pesky screen tears when gaming. The 120Hz support is limited to a two of the HDMI ports, which may cause trouble for some. A good work-around would be to use a receiver or HDMI switch that supports 120Hz as well, if you need more than the two. It supports ALLM (auto low latency mode) also and has support for all HDR modes, including Dolby Vision. It has supports FilmMaker mode, which is, luckily becoming more common these days. This will automatically set the TV to a lower frame rate, so your movie will look as it was intended. The built-in Google TV is a great addition too. I won't go into this too much here, other than to say it works very well on this TV. If you're unfamiliar with Google TV, it's basically an interface that brings all your streaming apps together with a unified playlist and recommendations. I personally like it a lot, but I'll stick to reviewing the TV, and not the Google software. A couple minor complaints with this TV- there doesn't seem to be a way to set a default HDMI. This is a little bit of a hassle if you're turning on the TV to watch something from say your cable box. I have an AV receiver that my cable box and gaming consoles are plugged into, and that receiver outputs to the TV using the HDMI 3 port. I use that port because it's the one that enables the ARC (audio return channel), so the TV can send audio to the AV receiver. However, every time I want to switch to watch the cable box, I wish I could set the "TV" button on the remote to just switch to HDMI 3, but instead I have to hit that button and scroll to HDMI 3, or use the input button and scroll to HDMI 3. It would be cool if that TV button was customizable to just switch to a specific input. I've also had some intermittent issues with the ARC not working. I haven't quite nailed down the cause, as it has had issues even while using the same app. For instance- in Disney+ one show worked perfectly fine with the ARC, then another did not. After coming back the next day, that same show worked just fine. It doesn't seem to be any particular app that's an issue either, as the same problem arose in Netflix as well. Another minor complaint is the picture can seem slightly off at some viewing angles. To be fair, this is usually a pretty extreme angle, so I doubt this will affect most people. One thing to maybe note about this particular TV is it's physical size. TVs are usually classified in a size range, like 65" class TV. While this one definitely is in that class, I'm guessing it's much closer to being a true 65" diagonally, with my previous 65" TVs being less so. The reason I mention this is because our entertainment stand setup has shelves on the sides and one that sits above the TV. This TV is a very tight fit in our 65" setup. It still fits, but it may be something to consider if you're replacing a previous 65" TV that is likely a bit smaller physically. There is little to no bezel on this TV too, it's just more screen. Overall, this is an easy TV to recommend. All the features of a high-end TV, but with a smaller barrier for entry. Pros: Great picture, great capabilities, including Dolby Vision / Atmos, 120Hz support, VRR, ALLM Cons: 120Hz isn't supported on all inputs, remote buttons can't be customized (that I can see), some extreme viewing angles seem a bit off, occasional ARC issues

I am completely in love with this Hisense U8H 65" 2022 model! I understand it's a difference from the past years models beware this last one having to benefit from the newest MiniLED technology. I had Hisense in the past and i can say they are very long lasting TV's so i assume this will be the case with this one too. But anyways what a great Tv this one is! So vivid and bright that i had to keep the backlit setting down to 60-70% where to any other tv i own it's on 90-100%. It does perform very well in a bright room where in the past just a qled would satisfy my needs. Out of the box all the colors and stuff they are good but with small adjustments of the white balance, contrast, brightness and such this Tv will go beyond your expectations and will reproduce super vibrant and popping images. The Black-levels are crazy good. It's local dimming works so well that it's OLED like, very hard to obtain such level of brightness and still be able to have these perfect black contours. So good job Hisesne i'm impressed. Motion comes native at 120hz in 4k that makes any game or sport look extra smooth and going into setting u can bump that to 240hz .... but i recommend to leave that on 120hz it looks natural and will satisfy most of you out there. Even the sound in this TV it's amazing it's got even a subwoofer included. So the TV it's awesome i truly believe it's the best deal you can get today on a 65" MiniLed that performs and looks so well.

This TV has exceeded my expectations. It's extremely bright, but I turned the backlight down to make it fit my needs. The contrast is extremely impressive for a non-OLED tv. 4k HDR/DV content looks amazing on this tv. The upscaling for 720 and lower is not the best in the industry, but it's acceptable. This TV is also a solid choice for gaming. The only drawback is that the motion is lacking. If you're a sports fan, this probably isn't the TV for you, but I don't personally care about sports so it worked great for me.

The Hisense 65 U8H packs a big punch at a mid-level price. Out of the box, this model provides enough quality to keep the whole family happy. From your gamers to your movie watchers, I don’t think anyone will be disappointed. On first appearance, the U8H is just as slick as previous models. Hisense does a great job and its classy, bezel-less design is one of my favorite traits because it allows the screen to be the focal point and not the frame. Even the stand is more streamlined and less noticeable with the thin metal legs. I personally appreciated that over previous models being more noticeable. Now, let’s jump in on the picture quality. For us, the 65 U8H resides in our family room and the viewing angles have not been an issue at all. At times, I will sit head on about 8’ away, more to the right at about 6’, or 16’ feet away to the left of center. I haven’t experienced any issues with any of those angles. The upgraded Mini LED effort paired with Hisense’s 4K ULED and Quantum Dot tech has provided us with a screen that has been impressive. The brightness has been tested with windows nearby and the U8H’s Peak Brightness & Full Array Local Dimming Zones have met the challenge. Each family/user will certainly be different, but I am sure adjusting the settings and refresh rate will get them to where they want to be. Taking the picture quality a step further, Hisense has a “Game Mode” to help with those that want to use the U8H for gaming. The HDMI 2.1 inputs adjusted the settings and the variable refresh rate (VRR) helped to keep lag to a minimum. I didn’t notice any screen tearing or jittering with what I was doing. Of course, others may experience differently depending on what they are doing. However, I am impressed and look forward to trying more things on it with my various methods of gaming. As far as the sound goes, I think the Hisense 65 U8H is one of the better ones that I have experienced without a soundbar. It boasts two 10W speakers as well as a 20W subwoofer centered in the rear. This is the first time that I have witnessed this in anything other than an old school tube TV. I appreciate the effort and could certainly get by just relying on that for the primary sound source. I still prefer the fullness of my soundbar and subwoofer, but that’s just me. Now, let’s hop into the Google TV OS. I have a 2-3 year old Hisense that has a similar version of this OS, but I feel like the U8H’s is cleaner and more fluid. There doesn’t appear to be as much “bloatware” as the older version had. I look forward to adding more profiles for the family too. Hopefully, I can keep the kids’ recommendations off my homepage. Haha! I will say that the older OS did present on-screen options for the inputs and I do miss that. I kind of have the same back and forth with the remote too. I may be in the minority with the keypad, but that works well for us parents that keep things locked down via passcodes. It’s easier to enter them with that as opposed to moving the cursor and allowing my kids to see it on the screen. I do appreciate the smaller wand, but give me the option to program some things on there. The older one I had allowed me to marry an input to a TV button and that would be nice here as well. Overall, I think the Hisense 65 U8H offers a ton of value. Yes, I have my own personal preferences, but I can’t knock the model for that. The performance is the key factor here and nobody in our house has been disappointed yet. We look forward to future family movie and gaming nights in big quality with a smaller budget. I think that’s a winning combo for all.

After wanting a new TV for a while I pulled the trigger here. Great reviews coming from numerous sites out there and overall I agree. Brightness galore really adds punch to HDR and great detail highlights as well. HD picture is also nice and crisp. It does suffer from some issues with processing motion and you get jaggies and artifacts on camera movements across designs and textures. The TV also does a lousy job upscaling SD material so streaming anything with compressed cable or lower resolution content looks pretty poor. I dont like to use any motion enhancement as that ruins other features but turning on some of these and playing with settings might help you. I also use a sound system so I cant comment on speaker quality. Not quite on par with Sony TV processing, but still a wonderful option for a main TV despite a few shortcomings. Not an OLED in terms of black levels but here the black levels are most definitely note worthy and an easy draw in HDR content.

I don't usually write reviews but this will be an exception. There are so many negative reviews on various social platforms including reddit inspite of being highly recommended TV on YouTube and other review guides. I would say this is the best ULED mini LED TV I've come across as compared to the other leading brands (I've got 65" version). The picture quality is outstanding with blacks and contrast being the attention seekers. Colors are beautiful and the picture is very bright. The audio and subwoofer is also very good (but sometimes lacks the clearness). I've played various quality contents and game on XBX, and this TV just performed beyond my expectations. There is a minor lag when playing motion in low quality content but not much to notice for a casual viewer. Definitely the best mini LED TV under 1K for sure!!

This product is AMAZING! I only returned it primarily because my dad preferred a 75" Samsung we had bought; he liked bigger size. I did see that in some scenes like the 2022 Fashion Show (YT) that Samsung displays in store, Samsung appeared brighter but then again I didn't try the Hisense demo video. Also Samsung have appeared brighter since I had chosen Dynamic picture mode on Samsung which is prob more like Standard and while Hisense was on Standard mode as well I hadn't cranked up the Contrast to the right levels. Inspite of this, when I play dark scenes such as 8 hr Grand Teton (on YT) and New York night life view (on YT), I saw Hisense had deep blacks and much more pleasant. On another video, there were some lights under bridge and Hisense definitely had much better brighter yellow light vs. Samsung. Overall, Hisense seemed to have more natural colors vs. Samsung. 1 BestBuy agent did say Hisense has more natural colors vs. Samsung tries to oversaturate a bit since that's what people tend to like and appreciate more. Remote wise, while some buttons are laid out weirdly, I liked Hisense remote more vs. Samsung's (on Samsung difficult to change inputs; too many clicks) but I do like Samsung's remote feel and solar charging capability. Love Hisense integration w/ Google. Hisense, UI is extremely speedy and responsive w/o lag but not known if overtime it will slow down. Samsung though is sluggish from get go and it sucks. On this Hisense you can control color to the nth level per content type: HDR, SDR, etc. Love it! Sucks 2 HDMIs are 2.0! ATSC-tuner I have read is not as great and doesn't catch as many channels as other higher end brands would. Sound is amazing and if you don't care about sound from left / right and back, then no need of soundbar but do know that all the sound is deep base. Wish the feet were longer from the front vs rare of the TV but that's personal preference. I think Hisense needs to improve UI a bit more (when you do picture setting while watching something the menus cover half the screen). Samsung has this thing where it shows you recently watched input / source which Hisense doesn't have. So everytime I go back Home I have to use voice command to change my last watched input source (HDMI 4 for me) while on Samsung I can go to recent and click that but then Samsung has a long lag to get to it so overall inspite of additional step, Hisense gets me to my input source quicker. Hisense does break apart a bit with 4K upscaling; definitely needs work in this area. So it leaves me wondering what video I should watch to really evaluate how bad 4K upscaling is on this Hisense. That was my issue because right now most content we watch won't be in 4K and I watch IPTV vs. broadcast from Comcast or Cox or ATT and IPTV content is HDR at best I would assume and this is where Hisense fails big time I think.

Great TV for the price! Picture is fantastic compared to my older tv's in my home. Gaming wise, you cannot beat this tv. I dock it one star for the upscaling is pretty underwhelming (so if you watch older shows, its meh) but for Netflix, Hulu, etc..its great. The integrated Google TV platform is just ok, it tends to not respond great, but I use a Roku box to offset that. If you are looking for a very bright tv, with great gaming performance and great color, this is the way to go
