Sound is terrible, cuts in and out then just shuts off. Also get large blocks of color throughout the screen at random times. Have to adjust volume from level 4 to 30 at times. This is within 2 days of purchasing the TV

This TV is a great deal at $899. It has a beautiful picture and the Google TV OS is excellent. Very deep blacks and vibrant colors with minor adjustment. GOD Ragnarok looks amazing on this TV. I wanted the LG C2 but could not justify the extra $1000 for the same size 65 inch TV. Sure the LG C2 looks a little better but not even close to $1000 worth of better. Hisense also gives you a 2 year manufacture warranty.

So this has an amazing panel. You have a panel here that honestly belongs in a 3000 dollar TV. The problem is that you have an amazing 3000 dollar panel....with everything else being Hisense. So what that means is everything else is terrible especially the processor. How that effects you is that anything not perfect quality will suffer a bit here. So a 4K blu-ray from a good 4K player will look breathtaking with deep inky blacks and an amazing contrast because this TV has local dimming and 1800 Nits Peak Brightness. Streaming however will suffer for a couple reasons. 1. The processor isn't really good enough to run the Apps and give you picture quality. 2. Anything less than 4K means this tv has to upconvert the signal which is does poorly introducing red ghosting and motion issues. What you are going to want to do is not use any internal Apps. Do not set up Goole TV, disable all Apps that are already installed and even turn the Wifi off on the TV, Make sure all of it's processing is being used for picture quality. This will also prolong the life of this set. Using those Apps means constant memory rewriting which means make these sets die in 2-3 years. Get an external streamer. That way if something goes wrong you just have to replace that and not the whole TV, Go out and get an Apple TV, The upconverting on that is way better than the TV and it allows you to match the framerate for anything being streamed. That is important because things that run at 24 frames will always look better and will produce less stutter because it's a 120hz panel. Apple TV is the best external streamer for this TV period. I tried a Roku Ultra and it produced worse results, trust me. So in conclusion, if you are willing to buy an Apple TV, not use the internal Apps then you will get so much value here. It is th e rare TV that has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and I love the bluetooth headset feature. The sound quality is actually good for a TV. It has a little subwoofer on the back. And yes you can game at 120HZ but to be honest that feature works better on the TCL R655.

Simply amazing. I have tried LG C2 and all the current TCL's. If you are a nit nerd this TV is almost painfully bright. Even though white is blinding, black is deep and black as well. The colors are phenomenal. This may be the first time I have reduced standard backlighting and use calibrated Theater mode for movies. I get a little blooming but I disagree that the upscaling or motion handling is poor. Tv's in this price range aren't known for that and if you watch a lot of streaming live TV with notoriously poor resolution (pretty much all of them) then get an Nvidia Shield with great AI image processing. Like all Android based TV's it can do some weird things sometimes, so keep the TV and your apps updated. It is a pain needing to occasionally unplug my TV like I have to reboot my phone but that's just the way it is.

Get! It! now! i have top flagship from both sony and Samsung this Hisense puts them both to absolute shame. This TV is like taking all the best things from Oled(deep blacks, popping colors) and led (brightness) and combining them together into one, then blowing both with brightness. This is the brightest TV ever created. This Tv gets extremely bright yet keeps all the details and popping colors intact. THIS IS NOT A BUDGET TV, This an extremely premium tv on a fraction of the price. Bestbuy have it on the budget section of the store playing low resolution video vs those name brands playing 4K, don’t let that fool you, as of now this is the best tv there is. With this, Hisense just became a premium brand to measure against.

The TV looks absolutely stunning in the day time with plenty of brightness. At night you can see some uneven back lighting when viewing wide screen content on the top and bottom black spaces but you have to really be looking for it. The tv lacks in motion handeling but again, you kind of have to be looking for it. Google TV is great and better than Roku in my opinion. Overall, the UH8 is a great TV for the price and I recommend it to anyone looking for a budget “premium” TV.

Best Buy doesn't love this TV but I do. Both Best Buys I went to to see a working display had this tv in a corner not turned on. The first one the sale person told me flat out "Hisense is not a good brand". She then showed me OLED's and I was blown away by the picture. It had been a while since I shopped for TV's and man have they improved. I decided to go to another Best Buy and once the salesman found the remote and we crawled around boxes in the corner, he got it set up. This time the rep didn't spend time trashing Hisense and even admitted that it was a pretty good tv. It's not an OLED, but for 1/2 the cost and better brightness I think it's an excellent value. With some adjustments to the set that I found on YouTube, this TV looks amazing. My wife, who really doesn't notice differences on stuff like this has repeatedly commented on how the picture looks. A friend of ours bought a LG mini LED at Best Buy at the same time and she commented to me later that our Hisense looks better. Part of that is I have a 4K Apple TV and part may be settings I have done, but his TV cost twice as much (his is larger but it would still be a lot more for the same size). The TV does great in a bright room with HD content but where it shines is in 4K content. When Dolby Vision is available, it looks incredible. Although I use my Apple TV for content, I did set up the Google TV and like the interface. Not as good as Apple TV, but its allows you a ton of apps through Google. I has a NAS set up to serve my media and as a DVR. The app I use for TV is Channels DVR and I was pleased to see it was available. If my Apple TV dies, at least I can use the Hisense to watch my content until I replace it. One of the issues I had with my previous cheap 4K TV this replace was sometimes I would get error messages with DRM content relating to HDMI cable. I wanted to get a TV if that came up, I could just switch to the TV's smart interface and watch that content. Luckily that has not happened which leads me to believe that TV not my HDMI cable was the issue. I think this TV punches way above its class and consider it a value for price.

The Hisense 65” U8 series TV is a reasonably affordable smart flat screen that avoids any buyers remorse as soon as you set it up. Pros: Gaming Experience, the Hisense U8 did not underperform in this arena. Games had a very nice transition and refresh rate. Although not its main use during testing, it’s definitely a player in the field if that is one of your “Must Haves” for a new TV. Colors were crisp, blacks were not as deep as I would have hoped, but it wasn’t bad enough to be a distraction. Overall, I would rate it a 7/10. Picture quality, out of the box the picture quality was ok. I did go into the menu settings and made some adjustments to fix what I felt was a “flat” color quality at first. This is not out of the norm for me, as I have had to do the same for even higher priced TVs in the past, so don’t let that discourage you from making the purchase. Although it did not get the deeper blacks that I would have liked, as stated above in the gaming experience, the overall picture quality is very good. I was able to test a few 4k videos and you can definitely see a noticeable difference between regular picture, HD and 4k. Overall, I would rate 8/10. Smart Functions, This might be one of the easiest things to do. We are definitely in a streaming age and the Hisense U8 is built with features to make that easier. Wi-Fi setup was pretty easy and the built in apps will have you watching your favorite series in no time. The Google voice worked very good and made navigating super easy and quick. Overall, I rate it a 9/10. Sound, its not bad, but it isn’t the greatest. I did experience some noticeable lag during movie streaming and that could have been due to WiFi connectivity, but I showed a good signal. Overall the sound is good for the TV, but it wont beat a surround sound system, nor is it designed too. The internal speakers will do the job for your day to day but an upgrade would not hurt your experience in the long run. Overall, I rate the speakers as 7/10. On a scale of 1-10 id say this TV is at a 7.5, you are definitely getting a good bang for your buck and it wont disappoint you.

The last two tvs that i bought before this one were an oled in 2018 and a high-end qled in 2019. This tv rivals my oled and blows my qled out of the water! If you understand what local dimming is about, this tv is the real deal! It actually completely blacks-out the parts of the screen in a scene where it should be black. Amazing!! I was originally going to buy a Sony x90k, but then i started researching and discovered that this tv is rated higher (i.e. contrast, local dimming zones, and audio) and was a tad bit cheaper. I bought a 65 inch for my son's game room and i am highly satisfied!! Trust me, i know tvs and i am not just somebody who wants to feel good about my purchase by writing a positive review. If you want an oled, spend the dough and get an oled. I however am somebody who appreciates both technologies, and this one is a non-oled engineered masterpiece of a television! And as a added bonus, the audio is pretty darn good, too!! If you're on the fence, just buy it!!

Very good value for a feature-rich mini-LED TV. Great picture, love the brightness, perfect for a living room with lots of natural light. Docked 1 star because of a recurring issue we have had where the HDMI eARC port does not work with our Yamaha YAS-108 soundbar. We returned the first one we bought thinking it was defective, but then we bought the same one and it had the same problem. Apparently it's a known issue with this TV being incompatible with some soundbars, so just be aware before purchasing. We had to use an optical audio cable to connect our soundbar instead of HDMI, which means that we cannot use the CEC function that allows you to use the TV remote to control the soundbar volume. We have to use a 3rd party universal remote to control both TV navigation and volume on 1 remote.

This was an excellent purchase. I’ve had the TV for a few months now and it looks great, very responsive. The colors and black levels are top notch. I would put this TV against any of the other big name brands out there. I have it hooked up to a soundbar, however the internal tv speakers are not bad, not the best but nowadays most people hook their tv’s up to an external audio source anyway. Gaming on it is incredible, for competitive fps games I would always recommend a gaming monitor, but for single player story mode games the next gen console graphics take full advantage of what this tv has to offer. Definitely pick one up, you will not be disappointed!

This is my second Hisense TV, and it performs just as advertised: Extremely bright, more than 1000 nits, easy to watch even in a sunlit room. Great contrast and color accuracy out of the box, especially in Theater Day mode. Surprisingly clear, well-rounded sound, the built-in subwoofer in the back makes a difference. Very easy to set up, straightforward but attractive design. Native 4k content has incredible detail and color. However, it struggles to upscale lesser HD content, particularly the 720p live sports programming you see on Fox Sports and ESPN, making it not the best choice to watch football. Remote is cheap and flimsy, Hisense should have spent a few extra dollars for a higher quality remote. Overall, a terrific value to watch 4k or full HD movies on Netflix or similar streaming apps, not so much for live sports, especially if sit closer to the screen.

Great TV at an excellent price. Slight upgrade compared to last year's U8G (that i also own). It is brighter and more contrast and inky blacks. This tv is the unbelievable at its price point. The sound on this tv is very good that you don't need a sound bar if in a smaller room. Leaps ahead the u8g. The only drawback and negative is that the upscale ability of this tv falls short. That is very apparent when compared to my Sony x900h. You can tell there is a difference from lower quality sources. Youtube, over the air, cable, 1080p.. anything under 4k or DCI 2k is a noticeable difference. But im nitpicking, as I have always purchased Sony. You cannot go wrong with tv for the price. Perfect for GAMERS and for watching 4K SOURCES OR CONTENT.

The Hisense U8H is a powerhouse super bright TV at a great price. It has all of the latest display features such as VRR (for gaming) as well as being capable of 4k120HZ. The screen is really bright as Hisense says it gets as high as 1500 nits which is amazing! It is a Google TV which means it has tight integration to Google services such as YouTube and Google Search. The remote and the TV have built in microphones so you can search for information or content even when the display is off! Through my testing the TV did not get overly hot at max brightness which was something I was worried about due to its brightness. The built in speakers have some nice kick to them due to the built in subwoofer which makes having a separate sound system or sound bar less of an option instead of a requirement. Doing the initial setup was a breeze and the menus are very responsive, be sure to do the system update after the setup as it will fix some bugs that are present in the initial software build of the TV. The Hisense U8H is a great TV for any use case and I definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for a bright and beautiful display.

Very impressed with this tv. I have always been reluctant to purchase a Hisense tv. I assumed it was of low quantity. However it appears that Hisense has improved over years. The UH8 has the highest bright settings of any tv I've own. Also it can display my XBOX Series X at 120hz. Aslo it has a built subwoofer speaker. It produces great sound when watching movies and playing video games. Bottomline: If you are looking for decent quality tv at an affordable price checkout the UH8.

For starters this tv was inexpensive, i got it for 900 on sale. Every review site lists this tv as one of the best mid ranged tvs with very good reason too. It does have its flaws and you will be able to tell if you are looking for them, but remember its only 1000 to begin with. The pros definitely outweigh the cons by a huge margin. The picture is so beautiful and detailed that you could swear it was an entry level oled, you will need to tweak the picture just a bit to get there. It gets very bright and the darks look so good and 4k will blow your mind. Now, the reason for 4 stars. It has a problem with banding and gradients and different brand sound bars will disconnect if you leave it alone for a couple minutes (like nothing playing). You might have too restart the bar but thats all. I only saw banding with low grade content and i think it depends where the content comes from. An example of it: i watched prometheus on blu ray and it had banding and posterization with mist, fog and light sources (like light originating from a flashlight). Then i watched it on an app and it did not have the same problem. Its hardly noticeable because it doesn't happen often. It happens with games as well, one example is god of war, with fog, mist and gradient colors. Again it doesn't happen often. I have watched so many 4k disk movies and i did not see the same problem on any of them at all, the picture looks so incredible that you will quickly forget it even has that problem. Games look incredible too. 4k at 120hz i cant even tell you how good it looks and plays. I have not seen any problems with high bit rate content so far. I highly recommend this tv but with its flaws in mind. Check its full spec list- this tv has an 8 bit panel an all other higher end tvs come with an 10 bit panel, thats where the cost cutting comes from, thats where the banding and gradients problem comes from too. Still..how does it look better then some higher end models then lol.

I think this is one of if not the best non OLED TV you can buy just make sure you get the American model because I’ve heard some features have issues with foreign models. All the features are here 120 HZ works incredibly on PC and PS5 and the brightness makes HDR perfect on consoles and incredible on PC just be sure to use HDR calibration tool from the Microsoft store it makes a huge difference. The TV apps and voice control work well but I have had some issues with the NBA app but it’s not a dealbreaker. A common issue I’ve heard about is ARC cords not working with sound bars but I’m happy to announce I’ve had no such issues and even the sound on the TV’s built in speakers are the best I’ve heard on any set to date, would probably even compete with $2000+ TV speakers. So all in all I’m blown away by this TV especially at this price it’s a steal and the performance and features you get rival the top OLED’s on the market while you don’t get infinite blacks you do get probably the brightest TV on the market. My opinion of Hisense has totally changed and I hope they keep making quality products like this in the future.

This is a nice tv with a quality picture and feel to it. I would have probably given it 5 stars if I hadn't switched from a LG C1 OLED that died on me. While this TV has more vibrant, brighter colors. It just doesn't compare with the detail and black levels of OLED panels. It only having 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, and one of those having to be used for an eARC connection for audio is also a bummer.
