Worst TV Ever after only having this tv for five months it totally blew up and showed different color lines. I was having issues with the pictures quality for a couple of weeks but just thought it was a broadcasting issue.

Surprisingly, MUCH Better Than I Expected

I’m not familiar with Hisense TVs, so I wasn’t sure what to expect…but, knowing it was one of the “off” brands (at least, within the United States), I didn’t expect much. I know that Hisense has actually been around a while in other countries. I also k now that, in somewhat-recent years, they purchased the rights to produce Sharp-branded TVs for the North & South American markets. For the long-term, I still don’t know what to expect from this Hisense TV…but, for right now, I’m actually impressed. As my parents are up there in age, I felt this would go best in their living room…plus, it would be a huge improvement (size-wise) over the 55” TV in their living room. UNBOXING & SETUP: For the ‘unboxing’ portion, honestly, there’s not much to say. The packaging by Hisense is pretty-much standard for large-screen TVs & computer monitors. You don’t even “open” the box. There are 4 plastic “clips” along the bottom (two on each side) holding the top piece of the box to the bottom – simply squeeze the plastic tabs together, lower the tabs downward, and pull plastic pieces away from the box. Once all four are removed, you simply slide the upper box piece off & lay it on the floor, remove the Styrofoam piece from inside the lid (as it contains the legs), lay the cardboard piece protecting the front of the screen on top of the box, and then lay the TV (face-down) on the box. To attach the legs, each is held in place by a ‘pin’ & two screws. Interestingly, Hisense provides two different mounting positions for the legs – you can have them further out (close to the TVs edges) for wider TV stands…or, you can have them approximately a foot in from each edge, for narrower stands. Once the TV is physically in place, going through the setup process is extremely simple as unboxing – ESPECIALLY if you’re using an Android phone/tablet. You can do the setup procedure before, or after, connecting a cable/satellite box, but I chose to do it before. Simply open your Google app, and type in “ok google set up my device”…and, it walks you through everything else. I’ve had “smart” TVs that were easy to set up (my Sony, for example)…but, honestly, this was the EASIEST TV I’ve ever set up. Once I logged into my Google account, everything else, including transferring my Wi-Fi settings, were automatically done. IMAGE & AUDIO QUALITY: Here’s where things get ‘interesting’…and NOT for any “bad” reason, but purely because everything was better than I expected. Colors are not ‘bright’, but neither are they ‘muted’. Surprisingly, colors look quite ‘natural’…and, images are sharp. Speaking of Sharp, I had the opportunity to test one of the Sharp 4K TVs produced by Hisense a coupe years ago, and I was NOT impressed. Now, remember, Hisense manufacturers BOTH brands, on the same assembly lines, so one would think both brads were of similar quality…they aren’t. With the Sharp, colors were ‘muted’, and the image appeared “slightly out of focus”. This Hisense, on the other hand, is quite the opposite. Color me impressed. Moving onto the audio side, the TVs built-in speakers won’t be used, as a soundbar has been set up…but, I did spend some time testing them before setting up the soundbar. The truth is, people don’t expect much from speakers built into TVs. They’ve always been known to be ‘subpar’, and underpowered, and producing “barely ok” quality sound. Surprisingly, the speakers built into the Hisense TV produced sound that was much better than I expected…and, even better, they are NOT ‘underpowered – they can get quite loud (although, admittedly, the sound also becomes slightly distorted at those high volume levels…but, as I already mentioned, this TV will be used with a soundbar). For those not connecting a home theater sound system, or adding a soundbar, the speakers built into the TV will serve you well enough. FINAL VERDICT: As I said, I’m impressed. After the Sharp TV fiasco, knowing that Hisense manufacturers both brands, I wasn’t expecting much. Let’s just say, I’m glad I decided to give Hisense a shot. Sure, it’s not a “high-end” TV…but, it’s also not marketed as such – it’s marketed as a “budget-priced, higher-quality, smart TV”, and I believe Hisense has hit their mark. Images look very good, colors look ‘natural’ (and that’s without the TV being calibrated), and audio quality is better than average. For those looking for “spectacular images, and outstanding audio”, this is not the TV for you. But, for those who want a good image, with realistic-looking color, and audio that’s better than what you’d expect to find on most “budget-priced” TVs, this TV will prove to be a great choice…plus, it won’t cost you an arm & a leg. Put another way, my parents are EXTREMELY happy with it. They’ve been away this past month, and they were aware that I had a ‘surprise’ for them…but, I did not tell them what it was. They returned a couple days ago…and, I can tell you, they haven’t even touched the TV in the bedroom. The Hisense (in the living room) has instantly become their “most watched”. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

I purchased the TV in December, but wasn’t able to mount it until this month (march). Turned the TV on and there is a big crack on it, you only see black and white on the screen. The TV has been sitting in a corner the whole time waiting to be put up. Must have crack when it was getting deliver or before it left the store. Best Buy couldn’t do anything and neither the manufacturer.

The picture is nice, much nicer than expected. It’s not bulky and with the right mount will give a minimal look to any room. However, the remote broke within months and trying to get a replacement has been a hassle. You have to make sure you buy the correct TV as the system can vary between, google and android etc

The Hisense A6G 70 inch TV is a great value proposition for anyone looking to up their screen-size game at a reasonable cost, while not making huge sacrifices on picture or performance across a decent variety of situations. This screen definitely falls in the ‘bang for your buck’ category- while it doesn’t blow you away with any particular segment of design or operation, it provides a pretty vibrant and consistent viewing experience. I was moving on from an eight-year-old 60 inch flatscreen in my basement, wall mounted at a distance of about 10 feet from couch to screen, and the jump in size within that spatial environment was a perfect upgrade. The screen is big, but if you aren’t in a room where you are basically sitting on top of it, the presentation is pretty nice. Out of the box, I didn’t find any of the build compromises made to achieve the quality at the price point to be disappointing or underwhelming. It is a pretty solid unit, the black plastic enclosure is fairly sturdy, with a nice glossy low-profile bezel around most of the perimeter, slightly thicker the bottom as expected. I should note that it has somewhat of a deep chassis (definitely deeper than the older TV it replaced), I’m guessing this is due to how the LED arrays that backlight the screen are set up. Not an issue for me, but I wall-mounted the TV (as opposed to using the legs and setting it on a console), reusing an existing full-motion articulating mount kit, and this TV is not that 'svelte' on the wall. It sits off the wall about 6 inches from the front edge of the screen. I know, I should change it to a low profile tilt-mount kit, but I already paid for the one I have, and between my kids jockeying one gaming system or another in and out, it was easier at the time to be able to swing out the screen and do the cabling without de-mounting and re-mounting the whole mess. That being said, the installation was relatively simple, as the TV has a standard VESA bolt pattern on the back to affix any compatible mount kit. Four bolts to screwn in, and set it. At under 50 pounds, most any kit in the 50-80 inch range can support the unit with ease, but you will likely want a partner to get it up as it is a bit awkward doing it solo. Connectivity – the versatility of the TV provided by the Android IOS was a large part of what allows the unit to shine for us. We as a family have cut the cable cord, so we are all-streaming, all the time. Living off of various apps like Fubo, Netflix and Amazon Prime among others, having a pretty robust app store is a huge plus. The whole IOS interface is easy to navigate, and the Google Store ecosystem is packed with a variety of apps and games to fill whatever need we have. My wife is a runner, and has a nice treadmill with a small screen and an app called iFit that provides live or on-demand workouts, which is in the Google store. Now she can run watching on a 70 inch screen instead of the 7 inch one. While the TV does have WiFi capabilities which work well, I utilized the CAT ethernet connection on the back to integrate the TV into my home network. Having the hard connection is fantastic, and you can navigate in and around the IOS and store with speed and ease. I have a pretty massive PLEX library of media that was connected in about two minutes after downloading the app, and playback from my seriver (also on network) is pretty instant. Setting the TV up using my Google credentials gave direct access to my personal Youtube channel, and the Chrome casting element is awesome - the Google aspect was new as most of our other TVs use Firesticks. My daughter does all of her school work (and spends her downtime browsing) using her Chrome book, now she casts her homework or presentation work to the big screen when it benefits her, or she will play some games with friends in the basement on the browser while running some music on Spotify in the background. All of a sudden, my man-cave and sports den was evidently now the place to be, and I need another TV for me. When I can get the TV to myself I'm primarily a movie or sports guy, and for the cost you get a really balanced palette of vibrant hues and decent blacks, whether I’m streaming some of the Marvel Universe movies or watching a hockey game. You aren’t going to get the deep blacks that are more prominently found in higher-end sets, but the full color range and level of detail rendered really stands out and impresses when you stream or play true 4K content. Even at only a 60hz refresh rate, the quad core processor inside does really well in keeping up with the detail and movement. I personally find that keeping ambient room lighting low by the screen greatly helps in getting the most mileage out of the color vibrancy and the depth of dark blacks. Within the given presets available, a decent criticism can be made around a limited ability to 'shape' the picture via adjustments, and some of the presets are just washed out, but honestly I find leaving it on Standard is pretty rewarding for most media types that I watch. Again- for the price- I wasn’t expecting a super high level of calibration control. As to the sound, you get what you should expect in budget-level TV speakers. Maybe even a tad higher quality than you think, with two down-firing speakers pumping out reasonably un-muddled soundtrack and score. Thankfully, I partnerned my older TV with a 5.1 channel soundbar and speaker setup, and that rig works amazingly through the eARC HDMI port on the back of the new TV- one of the three 60hz HDMI inputs. This price range of this television gets you a good picture and some decently average sound, but it also leaves you with some money in your pocket to consider a decent soundbar upgrade to pull it all together, should you desire. . Lastly, I know the TV isn’t intended for gaming per se- if you’re a gamer first, and are in the market for a large format screen, you aren’t shopping in this price tier or using these specs to find a screen this size -but my son plugged in his Xbox One, and for any family looking to just enjoy plugging in a system for kids to goof around on, you won’t be disappointed. The lag isn’t really noticeable, and the type of gaming my kids do isn’t competition-level stuff, it's passing the afternoon away stuff. They don’t really care about input lag or some slight blurring, but the visual is an absoluote joy at that size. It is a more than suitable theatre for anyone looking to get their Warzone, Rocket League or Mario Kart on. All in, if you can manage to catch this unit at the often-posted mid-$500 range, and set your expectations to align with what you are spending....you are getting yourself a heck of a deal on a pretty versatile 4K capable screen with decent color depth and movement, and a great entry point into large-screen TV territory.

I've had a few Hisense TVs along with my share of other brand name TVs, originally used as a spare room TV but quickly moved to my main TV after my brand name main TV died on me and now probably won't go back. Quick Summary Awesome TV for the great value and features you get. Picture quality can go head to head with other big brand names TVs! User interface, it's a Google TV, so ease of use and navigation. Major improvements over the previous Hisense TV. Processor is much faster, no lag! TV Quality The TV itself is quite thin, obviously not the thinnest on the market but definitely thinner than I expected from a lower cost TV brand. Mounts are aluminum and solid, most brand name TVs are using plastic mounts so going to aluminum mounts is so just so much nicer and sleek looking. The remote has been revised from the previous generation Hisense but keep the same function. My previous Hisense would have remote issues but they've fixed it with this newer version. Another issue I previously had was the lag, Hisense upgraded the processors (this was something I previously did not pay attention to) that has significantly improved usability and enjoyment of user experience. This is something that is big now for me using man high end and mid range TVs. Overall, I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for great value with great picture quality and user experience!
