We were having trouble with our laminate flooring buckling near entrances in our home due to the high humidity we experienced this summer. Someone suggested getting a dehumidifier to alleviate the expansion of the floorboards and this dehumidifier did the trick! After reading the reviews and realizing this product had all the options we needed for the best price, it was an easy to choice to make.

I am not sure how to rate this one. The product itself seems fine. It's been running for a few weeks now without a problem. And the features are exactly what I was looking for. I would give this product a better review if not for my experience with Hisense customer service. Here's my story: The exterior of the package was perfectly fine, but when I unpacked the unit the was a small piece of white plastic (same color as the unit) laying on top to the condensate collection bucket. It had a rough edge indicating that it had broken off of something. So, I examined the interior/exterior of the unit as best I could but could not find anything else broken or missing. I wrote to Hisense customer service and included a photo of the broken piece. I was surprised by Hisense's reaction. They told me that I would need to find a local repair shop to examine/repair the unit. I responded by repeating that the unit arrived right of the box with this loose piece, and I asked for further clarification about me being responsible for finding a repair shop, etc. They repeated their original answer and added that they did not recognize the broken part. Well, the unit seems to be running fine so I guess the broken piece was not critical to its function. So, I let the issue drop. But I had expected a little more proactive response from Hisense's customer service. I hope I never need them for some more serious since they were of no value in this minor case. I would recommend the product itself, but would include a strong caveat about the company's customer service. So I will reluctantly click "yes" for a recommendation. Keep your fingers crossed that your unit arrives intact because you might be on you own.

We keep the Hisense 70-Pint Dehumidifier in our small basement. There are a lot of ways you can customize the machine - that's one of the reasons I picked this dehumidifier. You can adjust when it runs, what humidity you want, and whether it pumps or collects water in a tank. The air filter is also easily cleaned. I wipe them down over the garbage can and put the filters right back. There is noise, but we don't notice it unless we're in the basement. Unfortunately, the dehumidifier has inexplicably stopped pumping, so I have to empty the tank manually once or twice a week. I do it when I do laundry, so it's not the end of the world, but I specifically didn't want to stop and check the dehumidifier all the time. I imagine it will get worse in the summer, when the humidity jumps up. If the pump feature is important to you, as it was to me, be wary of this option.

Got this because of the built-in pump & because Sears who I had gotten two from no longer sell anything like this anymore. External pumps. I always get the extended warranties on something like this because they no longer use fitting, just crimp the ends of the system. Best Buy came in cheaper than everyone else when adding the 4 year protection.

I use this is a finished basement that gets very cold during the winter. Since this unit arrived i took it out of box set it up to use the pump which drains into my washer weather drain and have never had to change a thing. The basement is now live able again. No more mildew smell permeating the basement.

I'm my house, we have to have a dehumidifier. My basement is mess. It was concrete flooring but my landlord tore that up before we moved it. So it's just rubble. If it rains enough, it floods. So I have a trench dug from where the water comes in to where the drain is. Upstairs floors will get damp and the house moldy if we do not have one. Out last one died so I bought this one to replace it. It has 3 options for dumping the water which I love. I have a hose hooked up and it drains with no problems. Within a hr my basement was a huge difference. Its not loud, works perfect and does the job it needs. Also simple to hook up. Anyone can do it.

This unit works very well. The pump feature is wonderful.

Out of the box setup only took a couple minutes. It's only a month or so old so I can't speak to the longevity. In my basement it runs non-stop to keep acceptable levels of humidity.

Using in my unfinished basement, about 800 sq ft. Totally makes a difference as it keeps humidity to under 60%.

Great product. Runs quiet. The ability to pump water vs emptying basin is a very helpful feature.

Price was competitive against Target, Amazon & Walmart. I also received points for purchasing this item at Best Buy in which Target, Amazon or Walmart don't offer. Worked great for work.

I had it 10 months and it just stopped dehumidifying. However I did email the company and I was requested call them, fill out a form, cut off the wire with plug and mail it back to them. I will see what they do to make up for what has happened.
