TV picture is great TV is real glitchy. Been having a problem with the sound and I had to reset it two times already thinking about returning. Not very happy with this purchase. Overall a good TV if it didn’t have any of these problems.

As an ex-professional videographer, I am pleased with color options, brightness, contrast, and sharpness, plus mini-jack to connect my existing surround sound. Due to bigger living room, I needed a bigger tv to meet the ideal room to tv size ratio. I compared to my (older) more expensive S**y tv which had great color and sharpness, and U6K looked as good, if not, better. It takes 2 people to set up due to weight and size. Going from app to app, it remembers your different color settings. As mentioned by others, start up is slower and loading a 4k youtube video is slower, even tho I'm using ethernet. Maybe a Fire Stick might resolve; then again, it is a cheaper tv with many functions and perhaps the computer isn't as powerful. In Avatar fast-action scene, I did notice blur lines. Will try a different movie. But for the price and minimal needs (no gaming), I feel I got my money's worth.

Why pay more?

Before I get this TV, I was a little bit skeptical because I was not familiar with this brand. I used to have Samsung TV and believed that Samsung or LG would be the best option for TV purchase. However, during black friday, the deal was too good to miss, hence I decided to get adventurous. And....
My gut feeling was RIGHT!!!
I watch TV everyday, though it is not for TV shows - I work out at home with the youtube work out videos, which means I should use the TV everyday for my workout and my kid watch youtube 20 mins everyday and we have a family movie time every friday. And this TV made our family movie time perfect. Man.... if you are a fan of movies, you should switch to this TV right now. You can feel the difference at first watch.
You don't have to pay hundreds dollars more on TV to purchase LG or Samsung. Hisense TV is way much cheaper, but it proivdes exactly same quality - the brightness, clarity of color, sound and fast loading. (My old Samsung TV took thousand years to load.... sigh...) Why pay more??
Now I am considering to pair this TV with Hisense soundbar. It would make our family movie time even more perfect though it is already perfec.t.

High Performance At a Budget Price

This Hisense U6 series TV is an excellent budget TV. It offers quantum dot Mini-LED technology at a price that used to be reserved for the more expensive top of the line TV’s. I am rating this TV on its performance and in comparison to other TV’s in this price range, not against TV’s at higher price points.
Setup was simple due to the excellent Google TV operating system. I really like that Google TV permits the TV to be configured as a dumb TV. If you prefer your own streaming device, this is a great option.
Once up and running, the TV offers numerous picture and sound options. I prefer Theater Day and Dolby Vision IQ (when available). The QLED mini-LED design creates rich colors that greatly improves the picture quality over standard LED TV’s. Black levels are excellent due to the full array local dimming that minimizes blooming and also enables excellent contrast. HDR performance is limited by the 600 Nit brightness level, but still looks great.
The sound quality is excellent, for a LED TV. I am using it with a soundbar, but for some people the sound produced by the two 15 watt speakers will be enough.
I can't say enough good things about this TV. For the price it offers features and performance that would have only been reached by TV’s costing thousands of more dollars. If you want the best performance take a look at the excellent, but more expensive, Hisense UH8 series. But if you want high performance at a budget price, definitely give this one a look.

Big Value

For a 75” TV, the Hisense U6 is an excellent value, especially considering it’s new for 2023 and Best Buy is already running a sale on it (at the time of this review being written). I have this TV set up in my basement next to what is soon to be a wet bar. It’s going to be used primarily for watching baseball, football, and hockey with friends and family and less often for YouTube and movies. Because of where it’s set up and what I’m using it for, my needs list was pretty short. I wanted a big TV with 4K resolution that wouldn’t break the bank. The Hisense U6 delivered. 75” is a lot of TV. You’ll definitely want help taking it out of the box and setting it up. Something that I greatly appreciate about this TV is the two positions for mounting the feet. Most TV stands aren’t super long. The ability to bring the feet closer together ensures that this TV is compatible with just about any stand. You aren’t forced to mount it if you don’t want to. Picture quality is great. The Mini LED display visibly reduces light bleed. The U6 is equipped with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Google TV OS makes streaming service account login and management incredibly convenient. This also allows you to connect to either Google Assistant or Alexa if your home is set up with either of those ecosystems. At the risk of sounding like a boomer, I absolutely love the voice remote. The Google TV OS doesn’t struggle to understand you and it eliminates the need to dig through apps to find exactly what you want to watch.
All of the aforementioned being said, a value TV does come with some compromises. While Mini LED is quite a bit better than a standard LED TV, it isn’t anywhere near OLED. You’re going to need to spend quite a bit more money to get OLED in a TV this size. This TV does only have a 60Hz native refresh rate. This absolutely contributes to its lower price and personally doesn’t bother me as I won’t be doing really any gaming on this TV. However, if this does matter to you, you may want to look for something else, the Hisense 75” U8 perhaps? That has a 144Hz native refresh rate. The U6 tops out at 600 nits peak brightness. For me, that’s plenty seeing as I have this TV in my basement where it is generally darker than the rest of my home. Again, if you need a brighter TV for a living room or elsewhere, check out the U8 which has 1500 nits peak brightness. While the U6 is equipped with Dolby Atmos, I find the built in speakers to be really “tinny.” A simple upgrade in this department would be a sound bar. The final compromise I have found with this TV is the OS itself. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t gaslighting you earlier when I was talking about Google TV. I love the Google TV OS. However, it’s obvious this TV isn’t equipped with the most processing power out there. Boot up is pretty slow and there is some lag at times when scrolling through apps. I’m patient and this again isn’t a huge deal as it’s consistent with other TVs I own.
As I mentioned before, the 75” Hisense U6 TV is an excellent value. If you want a big, (relatively) inexpensive Mini LED 4K TV, this is a great choice, especially if you’re okay with a few compromises. However, if you’re looking for the best of the best, I would keep looking, but also be ready to spend a lot more money.

Excellent Features for a Great Value!

TV shopping can be hard as you want to have something nice with a lot of features, but you can end up spending a ton of money on a TV to get everything you want. The new Hisense 75” U6 series does a fantastic job of toeing that line between great value with great features!
PROS:
- Setup is very easy! Make sure you have two people to lift and move this tv, not that it’s necessarily heavy but more so that it’s just a large tv. The setup process is pretty easy and walks you through step by step. I also like how it does not “require” you to connect to a WiFi network in case you do not have interest in those capabilities.
- The TV itself is very stylish! Thin bezels and has a nice look to it for sure.
- There are plenty of ports as well! 4 HDR ports that run 4K 60hz including 1 eARC port, ANT/Cable, AV in, Digital Audio, and an Ethernet port for hardwiring. Very nice options!
- The TV picture I was very impressed with! I set this up with my Apple TV 4K and can confirm that it runs Dolby Vision with the option to do HDR 10+ instead if you are interested. You should do a little edits to the picture in the settings but overall it is ready to go right away!
- Between gaming, movies, tv, or even music - this TV performed well under everything! The contrast is great, colors are vibrant, and overall the TV definitely has a nice pop to it.
- This also comes preloaded with a ton of nice perks considering the “Google” interface! It has the Google TV menu where you can select from apps, use “OK Google”, use Apple AirPlay, or even Amazon Alexa!
CONS:
- This TV only does not offer a 120hz hdmi port. This means that some streaming and gaming offerings (like a PlayStation 5) will be capped out at 60hz.
- The TV is also only offers 600 nits of brightness which can be fine for some but it definitely is missing that extra performance as most TVs double that nit level.
BOTTOM LINE:
- For a 75” TV at this price point, you are getting a lot! Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, 4K HDR content, plenty of smart features, and just a giant gorgeous TV! Yes it lacks some higher specs you would get from a more expensive TV but there is a lot of really great features in this Hisense! Overall is a great value purchase.

The Hisense 75-Inch Class U6 Series 4K Mini-LED ULED Google TV is a mid-priced TV that boasts the ability to bring leading-edge technology to everyone. I mostly agree that Hisense succeeds in fulfilling that mission statement. This is ULED TV with Mini-LED technologies that emphasizes color, contrast, brightness, and various motion technologies. I found that this TV really truly is a breakthrough in offering brighter images and greater contrast. With a wide range of supported HDR formats and the new Dolby Vision IQ, this U6 series TV is going to give you dynamic picture ranges and viewing options. In fact, I would say this TV's greatest picture assets can also be it's weakness. The wide array of viewing and picture options may overwhelm the average consumer. I'd advise be patient with this TV and experiment and research the picture settings that are going to work best for your eye. This Mini-LED ULED 4K TV should be able to meet your general expectations. I got there eventually myself. The TV has a great remote that controls your other devices as well. The bluetooth connectivity is decent and easy to use. The audio from the TV is quite good and I found that I didn't need a soundbar. The TV supports Dolby Atmos for those craving the extra boost. Overall, the Hisense 75-Inch Class U6 Series 4K Mini-LED ULED Google TV comes with a somewhat strong recommendation from me as it will give you the large TV with most of the latest technology at a very good price point.

Feature-Rich Mid-Level TV

About
The Hisense 75U6K is a mid-level priced ULED 4K TV with tons of features. It boasts numerous capabilities with its mini-LED local dimming screen, quantum dot color, 240 motion rate, HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and 60 Hz refresh rate features. It caters to gamers with its Game Mode Plus capable of running 4K at 60 Hz. It’s also loaded with smart technology like the hands free voice remote, Google TV and compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant.
Assembly
At over 60 pounds, the TV is pretty heavy. I recommend having two people to assemble due to the size of the screen. I chose to table mount the TV instead of wall-mounting. Wall mounting requires the VESA 400mm x 400mm wall mount if you choose to go that route. There are two v-shaped feet that screw into the bottom of the TV for a stand mount. On the box it shows that the feet are around 56 inches apart, which posed problems for me as my surface wasn’t that wide. Upon reading the instructions, I found that there is an additional option to mount the feet closer together, which is what I ended up doing.
Setup
The setup was pretty easy. Once plugged in you run through the first-time setup and get things started. Connect to the internet with your choice of a wired or wireless connection. I recommend going ahead and updating the tv’s firmware before continuing with the smart apps. There are several apps pre-installed such as Disney+, Netflix, YouTube TV, etc. You can also download other apps like Paramount Plus as you need. There’s an option to log into Google. If you have another TV set up through Google it can use your account information to download the apps that you use on the other TV. I have another Hisense, so this carried over to the new TV for me. My initial app installation and software update took a little while (even with a Lan connection). I would estimate it at 5-10 minutes.
This TV is equipped with Google TV, which I like. It uses free apps to pull together multiple free stations and load them into one programming guide.
Picture Quality
Our main television is a fairly high-end model, which also cost 3 times as much as the Hisense, so I am used to a high-quality picture. I thought that the Hisense picture was good, but not near as sharp or bright as my nicer TV. The picture was good relative to the price-point. The Hisense has a 600 nits brightness rating, but I did feel like it wasn’t bright enough. I even turned off room-sensing dimming and set the picture to Vivid mode.
I had one issue with lag, but it happened with a streaming service. After I did a fast forward and let the TV catch up the issue went away, so I am guessing that it was something with the stream.
Sound Quality
The audio from this TV is loud without having to turn the volume up very high. The sound quality is on the bright side. If you want more bass, you might be interested in adding a soundbar with a sub. Running the sound through the Arc input to my sound bar home theater made a huge difference. The TV supports Dolby Atmos.
Recommendation
Overall, the Hisense 75U6K seems to be a really good deal at its price point. It has a ton of features with a good picture. I would recommend this TV for someone who is looking to stay under $1300, but wants a large TV with all of the newest technology available. With that in mind I am giving this product 4 stars.

My first impression was, "wow that's a lot of screen". I really like how very little the border is around the screen. Setup using a mobile device with your Google account on it simplifies the process a lot. Signing in to the apps was also very easy as most of them give you a code to scan that takes you exactly where you need to make the process as quick and simple as possible. Once you're all done with setup and all signed in is where the fun begins. As the home screen loads up you get to experience the bright, crisp, and vibrant display come to life. The first thing I do whenever I get a new device is go straight to display settings and start tweaking every option I can find. I certainly was not disappointed, this TV gives you control of every little detail with all the basics from contrast to sharpness, but also has some new, intuitive, and wonderful features such as auto backlight dimming. I love this option because I have sensitive eyes and do not like my screens to be overly bright. With this option engaged I'm able to enjoy favorites like Star Wars where space battles and lightsaber duels were too much for my eyes without sacrificing the beautiful colors and effects I've had to ruin in the past by turning the brightness way down. This combined with the Dolby Vision IQ and I'm experiencing movies and shows in their full glory. I'm sure it's common these days for people to combine a TV like this with a sound bar or home theater of some sort but the sound quality is pretty impressive. As I continue to explore and enjoy this great TV I'll update my review.

Think my initial review was deleted.
I get lag / stutter on several apps while video is playing, HBO max (i.e. Justice League movie) and NBC sports for example. I have the device on turbo mode and all processing that I can find turned off. Tried different motion smoothing options, its doesn't help. A review said they reduced the processor power for this years models and I think that decision was a mistake. Even when something simple like the credits roll by you can see the skipping. Using the volume buttons or menus also makes frames drop, so I believe its an underpowered processor.
The only solution I have found is using a separate external box like apple tv or google tv box. There are no issues with frame dropping when using this so the tv can handle content when its just incoming video, and doesn't have to stream. Not ideal as you'll need two remotes if you want to use the other inputs.
Issue 2 is occasionally the speakers pop, watching the Batman, it happened every 10 minutes. Usually its more rare. I could buy a soundbar if I don't end up having it replaced.
Even though tv is cheap I don't like having to pay for these upgrades. It makes an 800 tv about 11 or 1200+ if you have to buy an internet box and soundbar. Taking the TV as is, I wouldn't buy it - unless you already have an apple tv and soundbar or willing to buy those on top.
Picture wise, its beautiful. I have an LG C2 Oled monitor and I'd say the picture is 90-95% as good as OLED for much lower price. You'd have to be looking for the differences to find them. The color on this TV is gorgeous and pops hard especially in vivid mode. I think the brightness is plenty on the base u6k model unless you're maybe sitting outside. I'm in a room with 6 windows and a big glass door and its great.

TV is great for the $$$ I paid for, Mini LED is kind of basic since is large size tv it looks a bit dim in some content and definitely looks horrible streaming basic sd conteny or 480p video. If you stream 1080p content the tv will match to 4k and it does dicent job. The con is if you don’t stream premium services you wont be abme to take advantage of the TV resources.

Well, I did extensive research. Numerous YouTube videos on TVs between $500 and $1500. I came to this conclusion, the U6. I wanted to take advantage of grabbing a Mini-LED TV at this lower price point. I considered the U7, but the U6 had more bang per dollar. If you are reaching, it is best to go for the U8 to get that bang per dollar. But at this price, the U6 has met expectations. Great quality and performance for the price. I upgraded from a good budget Vizio TV (m6). Boy, did I notice the difference when watching NETFLIX or playing certain XBOX games. If you are a person that doesn't like to spend more than $600 on a TV, go ahead and stretch and grab this around $800-$900.

This television is a firmware update away from being the best budget TV of 2023. I have the 75" version with the IPS-ADS panel which is a new hybrid panel with the contrast of a VA panel and the wide viewing angles of IPS panels. I'm very impressed with its brightness and contrast. The thing holding this TV back is its motion handling of 4K content. Watching 4K football from Fox Sports is a jittery, stuttering mess. Switch to the standard definition broadcast and the motion is smooth and easy to watch. I cannot recommend this TV to anyone until a firmware update fixes the 4K motion problem.

We finally decided to update some of our electronics, as we were still using a houseful of obsolete (NOT-smart) small Vizio and other brand television sets. They had served us satisfactorally over the years but when visiting with friends and relatives who all had converted to Smart TV's, we kind of felt left-behind in the tech arena. Then, when our internet/television provider notified us that they were upgrading their television service to something called 'streaming', we kind of panicked and had to educate ourselves on steps we needed to take to be able to continue accessing the tv programs we had been enjoying over the past years. When the provider did cut over to the streaming service, we were able to use the old tv's using adapters. However, it wasn't long -with the plethera of new and interesting programs which became available to us - before we realized we could make our viewing so much more enjoyable if we upgraded our equipment. One trip to Best Buy to puruse over the large selection of TV's now available to us, we pulled the trigger and bought a couple right away. We were happily shocked to see that the prices of these beautiful, large TV's actually is now less expensive than the old outdated models we had been viewing over the past few years. We ended up buying two beautiful, huge (to us), flat-screened tv's and just hooked them up a couple weeks ago. We are so impressed with the picture quality, the sound, and simplicity of it all thanks to working with your Best Buy pro's. They are always there to assist when we have questions. Thank you, Best Buy - and your excellent employees - for guiding us and helping us select new TV's that would meet our needs and make TV watching so much more fun. We will never have to say, "There's nothing on TV tonight" ever again.
