Hi Klondike, thank you for your interest in the Hisense 75U8N. This TV supports 4K upscaling. However, the upscaling procedure doesn't transform a lower resolution into a higher one; it's more of an approximation. Consequently, an image upscaled to fit the pixel count of a TV screen won't resemble an image originally filmed in 4K. If you require additional assistance, please reach out to our dedicated support team directly at 1-888-935-8880 or via email at Service@Hisense-usa.com so that we can promptly address and resolve the issue for you. Thanks again, Harley with the Hisense Support Team. Hisense

the good: * picture quality - Two words - IN-SANE! I mean, it’s from Hisense, which maybe isn’t considered an upper tier brand, but it’s significantly better than the Samsung and Sony Bravia panels I have. Seriously, I am astounded by the color vibrance, super deep blacks (not OLED but pretty close) and contrast levels. * performance - In terms of processing, the interface is OK, but the screen response and viewing experience is just buttery smooth. I’m not a huge fan of the “clarity” settings personally, like the frame interpolation and all that, but it does a good job at what it’s supposed to do, which is to say that when motion enhancement is on, it is pretty impressive…like tough to tell apart from a native 60fps 4k video impressive. For movies typically 24fps is native, and of course it handles that with no problem. Gaming is fantastic, especially with the 144Hz game mode. * design - Super slim bezel and minimalist design. Not flash, just class. * included audio/video tech - Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG support (having all those is killer) as well as and Imax Enhanced. * audio - Probably not many people are going to be using the onboard audio, but it’s actually pretty solid, with Dolby Atmos and again Imax Enhanced support. It’s not gonna replace a full-blown home theater audio system, but it might just replace a sound bar. * HDMI - solid HDMI ports (4 total, 2 of them 2.1 with 144Hz support) the bad: * The onboard software (Google TV) can be a little glitchy, and can stutter slightly from time to time under more demanding content, especially at the beginning of the content before the buffer has time to build. Even so, a very minor nit-pick. misc: * Uniformity (without FALD) is pretty bad, meaning if dimming is off, the picture is cloudy with tons of haze and bright spots. Luckily the FALD is *really* good at correcting it, so good in fact that if you didn’t know any better, you might actually confuse this with an OLED. overall: At this price point, this is about as close to maximizing bang-for-your-buck as you can get. An easy 5 stars for me.

This Hisense 75" Class U8 Series Mini-LED QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV impresses me more every time I watch it. It’s a cutting-edge television that offers an immersive viewing experience with impressive picture quality, fantastic out of the box audio, and a plethora of integrated smart features. It’s been a wonderful upgrade to our movie room! Picture Quality is top-notch with its full blown immersive 4K with QLED technology and Mini-LED backlighting. The U8 Series boasts 4K Ultra HD resolution with bright vibrant colors, deep blacks, and excellent contrast. This thing is BRIGHT! Really illuminates the whole room when intended too but paired with deep rich blacks. I can really appreciate how their use of Mini-LED backlighting enhances local dimming, resulting in precise control over brightness levels and noticeably improved HDR performance. Quantum Dot Color: Quantum Dot Color technology ensures a wide color gamut and produces lifelike accuracy of colors that pop off the screen. This feature to me really enhances the entire viewing experience, particularly when watching high-definition content or HDR-supported movies and shows – brings out the definition of “immersive viewing experience.” Google TV: The inclusion of Google TV as the smart platform provides seamless access to a vast library of streaming services, apps, and content. The intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate through different apps and discover new entertainment options. Plus, the integration of Google Assistant allows for hands-free voice commands and smart home control. Gaming Performance: With support for high refresh rates and low input lag, the U8 Series is well-suited for gaming, offering smooth and responsive gameplay. Whether you're playing fast-paced action games or immersing yourself in visually stunning open-world adventures, this TV delivers an enjoyable gaming experience. Audio Quality: The built-in speakers and subwoofer provide clear and immersive audio. I watched TVs and movies the first few days with the TV speakers alone just to test and I was quite impressed with the sound quality. Of course, for a truly cinematic experience, pairing the TV with a soundbar or robust home theater system is recommended. Fortunately, the U8 Series offers various audio output options (HDMI, headphone jack, optical digital) to accommodate external audio devices. Design and Build: I really enjoy the overall look of this TV. The sleek design of the U8 Series adds a touch of elegance to any living space, with slim bezels and a premium finish. The TV is well-built and sturdy, ensuring long-term durability. A note here is to the unit’s weight – very heavy in my opinion, about 140 pounds with the stand, definitely a 2-person set up to be safe. Luckily unboxing, stand attachment, and placement only takes about 10 minutes. Smart Features: In addition to Google TV, the U8 Series offers built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and support for popular streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+. It also features advanced picture settings and customization options for fine-tuning the viewing experience according to personal preferences. Overall Impression: The Hisense 75" Class U8 Series Mini-LED QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV delivers impressive picture quality, smart features, and gaming performance at an attractive price point. With its combination of cutting-edge technology and user-friendly interface, it's a compelling option for those seeking a premium viewing experience.

Hisense offers a lot to like in this 75" mini-LED ULED 4K Google TV, matching big picture real estate with customizable and adaptive viewing, smart capabilities, and immersive sound. With its competitive price tag, it is the perfect addition to any budget-conscious entertainment space. Unboxing the 100 pound, 75" behemoth is a two-person job, and the packaging doesn't do you any favors with any instruction. But after carefully undoing the cardboard and styrofoam, I was relieved to find a big, beautiful, and flawless display waiting inside. Packed with a sleek remote (with batteries), heavy TV stand, and a few screws, the TV was easy to put together and start up. Onscreen setup is fast, especially for those with a Google account. Consumers who no longer use cable boxes have loads of streaming options already preloaded and a library downloadable apps at their disposal. Connect a digital antenna for access to hundreds of local, free channels; connect your choice of streaming box to one of its four HDMI ports and stream that way if you prefer. The onscreen Hisense user interface can be a little overwhelming for the average viewer, but fortunately this TV offers a step-by-step tutorial (that you may exit at any time) for all of its features. Picture quality is great. Besides the obvious magnitude of 75 inches, the Hisense TV gives a number of options that create a bright and clear experience. From theater day and night views to filmmaker mode that shows a movie as the creator had intended, this TV provides incredibly vivid color and contrast that mesmerize and impress. And when it comes to sound, this TV hits you from all angles, no home theatre system or soundbar needed. Whether you're binging multiple seasons of a show, being engrossed by a sci-fi space epic film, or battling hoards of monsters in a video game, the Hisense U8 series ULED TV delivers a high quality experience at an affordable price and makes for a wonderful option for your entertainment space.

I have always admired the HiSense brand for their specs and competitive pricing, but had not been in the market for a new TV. Its picture quality out the box was pretty good, and going into the settings you can pretty much dial this in to get an amazing picture with Dolby Vision, great colors and good black levels. Connecting to my PS5, the gaming functions come in to play and does it thing to enhance the experience. It's not my first experience with a TV with these capabilities, so I have a baseline and this TV does it well. Audio is also very good, with Dolby Atmos support to complement the great picture. Obviously built on the Android/Google TV platform, you get your expected experience of finding all your favorite apps and integration into to your Google Home setup (also has Apple Home functionality). I'm used to the Google TV experience, I'm just glad they provided the TV with enough processing power to make moving around the UI and apps not feel laggy and cumbersome. Overall, the Hisense U8 provides the same great premium performance many praise their products for while also keeping prices competitive.

I Recently received this Hisense 75-inch Class U8 Series Mini-LED QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV This 75-inch TV is PERFECT! Amazing for movie night, picture and resolution is bright and clear and I feel like the Hisesnse TV is perfect quality for the price! I was also very surprised on the sound portion of this TV! Sound on this Hisense TV is also Flawlessly awesome, no need for a soundbar in my opinion, which makes this TV a 10 out of 10 in my book! This is our 4th hisense TV we have in our home and we could not be happier with the quality. No need to spend thousands of dollars on a name brand TV when Hisense offers the same quality and features at a fraction of the price! As far as feature wise, in my opinion I feel like the more streaming apps you have downloaded to the actual tv the more the TV lags. For this purpose and this purpose only, I did add a streaming device, versus using the actual apps on the TV to stream services. I am subscribed to about all the streaming apps that you can think of! But this is not a deal breaker for me, I would still recommend this TV as a 10/10!!

    Hisense: exceptional value, superior performance

This is an excellent TV for the price. Lots of people bash Hisense, but I’ve owned many of their TVs with zero issues over the years. All still going strong with a beautiful picture. The 75” model is unique in that it’s an ADS PRO panel instead of a VA panel. What that essentially means is that the native contrast isn’t great but you get exceptionally better viewing angles. The native contrast issue is completely resolved with the TVs excellent local dimming. Don’t be fooled into buying a more expensive brand like Sony or LG for over twice this cost. Hisense is fantastic, cheaper, and in most ways superior.
