    I would have loved to recommend the Hisense TV, because it had incredible amounts of technology for the price. And it worked flawlessly up to the 30 day mark. But when day 30 arrived, I was watching it for about two hours, and then it just shut off by itself, and wouldn't turn back on. Since it was within the 30 day return policy, I was able to return it with a full refund. Don't know what I would have done otherwise. I went with TCL the second time around.

    The 75" U8K has a wonderful picture. Colors are life like, blacks are inky black with a small amount of blooming around bright colors against a pure black background. It is not an OLED. The picture is plenty bright. I am very happy with the TV for a very reasonable price. No problems, the panel has no issues.

    Since it's a clearance item, they obviously struggle in supplying the original accessories. The included remote and power cable do NOT work with this product, I believe they go to a sound bar. The TV itself also has a defect on the display which presents as black dots at the bottom that is visible while watching content.

    TV is blinking on a lot of stations. Best Buy refuses to help, and sent us to the manufacture who said its not their problem call our provider. Our provider can't find out what's wrong. We need help, would not have purchased this TV unless it was highly recommended by the Best Buy sales personnel.

    A few years ago I got a Hisense television for a bedroom. Hisense then was a budget friendly up and coming television manufacturer. I was still quite impressed with the TV even though it was relegated to a guest room. Now, upon getting the Hisense 75 inch 75U8K 4K Mini-LED Quantum ULED Google TV I can comfortably say that Hisense is no longer up and coming, it has definitely arrived. The 75U8K is amazing. So nice in fact that I have happily replaced my main TV, which just happens to be an OLED. I love my OLED but overall the Hisense is a better TV and now the OLED is a bedroom TV. Unboxing this big of television seems daunting but it wasn’t bad. The 75U8K was nicely packaged to protect it behind layers of cardboard and styrofoam. In the box you get a manual, the legs, and a remote. I opted to wall mount mine. If you do as well, the VESA measurement is 600mm x 400mm and it weighs in at about 80 pounds. It sure felt heavier when hoisting it onto the wall. You’ll definitely need some help. Once mounted, you’ll want to remove the plastic film protecting the television. While the protection was appreciated, this proved to be unusually challenging. This thing was encased in plastic with not many easily accessible starting points. The set itself looks great with its bezel-less design. Setup of the television was a breeze. This is my first Google TV and I loved the ease of setup. You simply add the 75U8K to your Google account and Google Home via a QR code. Then connect to wifi. There was an update that took a good bit of time to download and install but once complete you select your streaming app subscriptions including Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Peacock, Disney+, ESPN+, and Tubi. So no need for a separate streaming box. The Google TV OS interface is really quite nice and perky in responsiveness. The remote is on the basic side but it does have convenient shortcut buttons to the most popular apps. Also included is Hands-Free Voice Control so playing requests is extremely easy. Google Assistant is built in as well for controlling your smart home devices. I connected Apple TV, a Dolby Atmos soundbar, and a 4K blu-ray player. For HDMI you’ll find 4 ports, 2 ports up to 4K@144Hz. For a soundbar you get eARC. There is also an optical port, 2 usb, ethernet, RF antenna, and headphone port. Once my apps were up and running I was eager to try some content to see how the 75U8K looked and performed. I eagerly viewed a variety of content from YouTube 4K selections, Netflix shows in 4K, and 4K blu-ray films. Wow! The Mini LED 120hz display picture quality was mesmerizing with dark inky blacks comparable to OLED but with a brightness that just blew me away and at a 1500 nit peak brightness which definitely surpassed that of my OLED. HDR formats supported include Dolby Vision, HDR 10, HDR 10+, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). Contrast was stunning no doubt benefiting from the 1,056 local dimming zones. Colors are also particularly rich and vivid due to Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut technology. Between the brilliant color accuracy and the stunning HDR performance visuals just pop. Even commercials look amazing. I was thrilled with the TV and that’s just out of the box with the factory settings. There are a multitude of image settings in the menu to adjust to your liking. Hisense has something exceptional here and it doesn’t stop at the display quality. Sound on the 75U8K is certainly the best I’ve hear on any TV with 2.1.2 multi-channel audio. There are actually 5 speakers onboard including rear overhead speakers and a subwoofer on the rear of the TV. Many will opt for a soundbar but you still have far above average sound if you chose not to. I don’t game on my TV but for those that do the 75U8K is ready for you with smooth gameplay from its 144hz game mode pro with 144hz variable refresh rate and FreeSync Premium Pro to minimize lag and image tearing. Plus it supports Dolby Vision for gaming at 4K 144hz. I love this TV and I’m confident you will too. Highly recommended.

    TV constantly disconnects itself from wifi and if you try to use external streaming devices (apple tv, roku etc…) you will get constant audio stuttering. Stick with LG for TVs. Waste of $1500 here

    The Hisense U8K 75-inch TV is a powerhouse that should be considered by anyone looking for a new TV this year! Hisense isn’t a brand I was too familiar with for TV’s up until a few years ago. I’ve always gravitated towards Sony in the 90’s and Samsung throughout the 2000’s. The only product I previously owned by Hisense was an outdoor refrigerator. I’ve now owned a 65” TV and the 75” U7K, and now have upgraded to the U8K. I was very excited to get my hands on the U8K and see all the new features and upgrades they’ve put into the tv this year! Initial unboxing was easy and straightforward but recommend having two people for the initial setup. The 75-inch clocked in at around 80 pounds unboxed and the screw on legs were simple to install. Since it’s a google tv I linked my YouTube TV account with it and loaded all my apps. I wasn’t a fan of android style tv’s at first, but they’ve grown on me. The google hands free search function is quite handy and I love the integration on the home screen with different YouTube videos and things you’ve watched in the past. I love the Chromecast feature built in. Compared to a Samsung TV experience it feels much more tailored to you as the individual viewer. The TV itself is full of top-of-the-line features that anyone will want in a new tv. I’ve been upgrading my tv regularly since the rear projection days and have always tried to find the balance between features and price, and I believe Hisense strikes the right chord with the U8K series. Mini LED is the latest and greatest for maximum control of your colors and brightness across the entire screen. Gone are the days of screen bleed or hotspots on the screen. I was astounded by the brightness this screen puts out even compared to last year’s U7K. The peak brightness is 1500 (which I can’t measure) and they said they doubled the local dimming zones compared to last year and I think it’s made a noticeable improvement to an already great tv. The colors this tv puts out are just incredible. I usually always rate a tv by its blacks. The blacks on this TV are rich and true and you’re able to see separations in different dark scenes with games like Last of Us 2. Which brings me to the gaming portion of this review. This tv is a BEAST for gaming. I’ve never seen a TV incorporate the AMD Freesync Premium Pro gaming bar, but I think it should be a standard for any gaming tv going forward. The 144hz refresh rate is amazing and being able to control your VRR on the fly and really hone in the HDR settings makes this tv a powerhouse. Couple that with a 2.1.2 surround sound experience with Dolby Atmos and IMAX enhanced and you really have a great versatile TV for any occasion. The tv is also equipped with 2 HDMI 2.1 ports able to handle 144hz (4 total). Wifi 6e was especially cool to see as it’s one of the first electronic items I have in my home that takes advantage of my new Eero 6’s. Apple home and Airplay also work with the tv, which I found always good in a pinch when wanting to stream videos. Also included is a brand new NextGen TV ATSC 3.0 tuner which is the new standard for Tv tuners going forward and basically helps future proof the device! One feature I find cool is the ability to “Find My Remote” if it happens to go missing! Clever indeed! All in all, I really am impressed by the U8K by Hisense. The tv is bright, beautiful and packed full of customization and gaming features and comes with a 2-year warranty! What more could you ask for? I highly recommend this tv.

    I can only think I had a bad tv. Nothing worked right on this tv. Couldnt watch a football game without having a lot of lengthy frame stops, etc. (even tried numerous adjustments). Even happened watching the weather. Traded for another brand tv.

    Horrible customer service. Ordered the TV on 4/22/2024 and still waiting for it to be delivered. Best Buy keeps canceling delivery date. This will be my last purchase from them.

    The 2023 Hisense U8K is a television that I never expected. I’ve always associated the Hisense brand with cost effective low to mid-range electronics but the U8K definitely shows a different side. Unboxing and setting it up was straight forward. The first thing that impressed me is that there are two mounting locations for the legs. This is a 75” TV and I had a concern that it might not fit on my stand. Having two mounting points allows the set to fit on a smaller TV stand that my 75” Visio wouldn’t fit on. Setting up the Google TV aspect was just as easy. Using my phone, I snapped the QR code and my Google account was transferred and the TV went through. There was an update that took about 10 minutes but once that was complete we were good to go. It also recognized my Apple Home and joined that as well. Like many, I’ve cut the cable and am using streaming apps. One plus with this is I no longer need my Apple TV or Fire Stick. You can download all the apps you need from the Google Play store. The picture on this TV is absolutely stunning. Colors are crisp and bright and with the mini led backlighting, blacks are truly black. I didn’t notice any blooming with white text on a black backgrounds. Sound from the built-in speakers is really good and the bass from the subwoofer is deep and full. I imagine most people that get a set like this will also have a sound bar but if you don't, it's probably the best sound I've heard from onboard speakers. Using the optical (SPDIF) output I did experience some issues with the volume raising and lowering on its own. Doing a google search, it seems this is a known issue on Hisense sets. I’m not sure if it's just a setting that needs to be changed or a firmware update. I would like the apps and google interface to be a bit more responsive but that's just a preference. All the apps worked as expected. This set does have a digital tuner in it that includes NEXTGEN Digital. Using a set of rabbit ears I was able to tune in over a dozen OTA stations in my area. The picture on OTA is just as good as streaming. Overall, I think this is an incredible television set and I highly recommend it.

    Switched from Samsung and I could not happier with this TV. The quality is so much better, user interface is smoother, and for the price I was able to get two compared to other brands in same category. Brightness, color, sound quality, and viewing angles are all amazing. Larger warranty is also a major plus for the investment. Will get more of this brand in the future.

    The TV is slow. Takes a while for it to warm up...? Lot of lag time when responding to a command and will interrupt/ pause the movie that is playing.

    Great price to performance

    I got the open box display model marked down to 650$ and added the 2 year best buy coverage, so after taxes it was just under 800$ The image on this TV is absolute fantastic, coming from an LG C1 OLED TV. The blacks are very very good. Not quite as outstanding as the OLED panel but very close to it, and certainly for a fraction of the price of a OLED TV. The rest of the image is also quite good, 4k content really pops at 75", which was also a nice improvement from 65". I think I have reached the limit of what would be practical in my living room / home theater. The onboard speakers seem to be fine, but I only used them for a few minutes before hooking up my surround sound system which really compliments this TV. A proper surround sound really makes the living room better than most movie theaters
