I could not wait to get my hands on this hugeeeee TV as my main TV in the living room was showing its age, about 8 years old and it was starting to develop a thin top horizontal line at the top, so I figured its time to get another TV and this Hisense 4K 75-Inch hu-mong-us fit the mold as I wanted to give the "Mini-LED" ULED Tech a try and Google TV. (If you would like to skip the long read, go to the bottom for the to the point summary.) When the TV arrived, it was a huge box, biggest TV I have ever owned, (upgrading from a 60 inch), the box was very sturdy which was good as I am hesitant of TV's being shipped as they can easily be broken, and taking the TV out is purely simple, just cutting the tie straps off and lifting the box off and there is the TV, packed nicely with cushioned foam supports, and even with a hard thick cardboard. Upon, taking all the protection out, the front of the TV had white hard thick foam strips on each side of the screen/bezel taped on for when you and a 2nd helper is picking up the TV, they wanted to make sure you don't grab the TV side to hard and damage the screen. Hisense took the time to make sure these huge TV's are shipped with the maximum protection. In my setting, I have wall-mounts in all the rooms so I opted to continue using my wall mount with my previous TV after I verified that my mount supports a 600 x 600 VESA setting and that it supports the weight of the TV which my mount supports up to 100lbs and the TV weigh's 81.4lbs. So if your thinking about your mount and weight options, be sure it supports these. To make this go easy and seamless, I opted for 3 other's to help join helping me mount this, I had my wife, my brother and father all help me mount this and it was perfectly done within 5 minutes. After getting all my inputs hooked in, my OTA antenna coax cable, the DirecTV Streaming Osprey set-top box and of course the power cable for the TV, and checking out the TV overall after being mounted, the build quality and look feels very premium, the other big TV manufacturers need to step aside, Hisense has a really great TV here. Now. it was time to sit down and I was ready to power it on and dive in. Upon first turning on, its Android TV, so during the initial setup, first thing is if your not connected to it via Ethernet Cable, you will be asked to sign into your WiFi network, then it prompts you to sign in with your Google account or skip it, then after that it does some updates and configuring which took around 5-10 minutes, after that was complete, it was ready to go as it loaded into the Android TV Home Screen, One little gripe I had was it never did ask me about scanning for the OTA/Cable channels, I had to manually go right in the settings and scan for the channel's themselves. After that, a nice beautiful guide and info about each channel's resolution that the broadcast company is pushing out, info about the show, show title, etc. Next thing was configuring my Polk audio soundbar, Just like my previous setup with my old tv, I had it hooked via HDMI/eARC port on both the soundbar and tv ports. At first, it wasn't turning up and down from my remote but after a few minutes, it just magically started working, Im guessing it just needed a moment or so to get configured and working automatically. Next up which was the most frustrating part was my DirecTV Stream set-top box is hooked up via the HDMI 1 port through my soundbar and it passes through to the HDMI/eARC port to the TV, again just like my old TV, it worked flawlessly, on this Hisense TV, it was a head scratcher as it wasn't detecting input at all, I figured I would try some other HDMI cables to troubleshoot and try to isolate the issue, again, changing cords didnt help at all, so I went back to my original HDMI cord and I started messing with the Android TV input settings, and by default, HDMI/eARC Port #3 and HDMI Port #4 is in Enhanced mode, I set Port #3 to standard and I thought, finally I got it working as my DirecTV box was showing a picture but it was cutting in and out constantly and audio was crackling/stuttering, I tried messing with more of the settings, maybe a cord was loose, etc, nothing, so I had the hassle of trying to navigate the DirecTV Stream box when the picture would come on for a second or two to try to get to the Resolution in the settings category and by default, it was on 3840x2160p 60 Hz (The highest and set by default as I have this on another older TV and its always worked well, even on the original old TV I have replaced with this Hisense) so I dropped it down to the same resolution but 50 Hz, same thing was happening, picture was coming in and out, audio was stuttering but not as much as it was, so I dropped it down another notch to 30 Hz and finally, it was performing like it should. I am not sure if this is a built in Android TV bug in the Hisense TV or a hardware incompatibility. After getting everything working finally after a hour of fiddling around with it, I start taking it in and experience the quality of the picture and the viewing angles, and I must say, the picture is very bright, vibrant and vivid, very impressed, sound is superb, even has a subwoofer built in the back of the TV, I went ahead and unhooked the soundbar from the TV and played some OTA Local television channels and this thing packs a punch with its sound, with the old TV, I had to have my volume on just on the TV without the soundbar hooked in up to 80/90 to even hear it, with this Hisense TV, 25-35, I can hear it from 8-10 ft away with no problems and the quality is soooo much better then my old TV. I will say if you buy this TV and are thinking of buying a soundbar, WAIT ON DOING THAT! At least test out the sound on this TV first, you may be amazed at the quality and may look away from buying/spending money on a soundbar system. Google TV runs very smoothly, Hisense was very generous on the specs compared to other budget cheap TV's that have 1GB of ram or less, I installed AIDA64 app on this TV and checked out the specs, and this TV has 2.5GB of Ram installed, with around 850mb freely available. Which is adequate enough but I believe that 4GB should be the standard as im not sure if in a few years with android updates, app updates, etc will use more ram. It would be nice to have more ram to future proof this at least 5+ years or more. Also they were generous with the storage space, a lot of android TV sticks, smart tv's come with a laughable average 2GB of storage or less, making it where if you start installing a lot of apps, your going to run out of storage quick. Also it runs on Android 12 (Snow Cone) on a 4x ARM CortexA73 @ 1390MHz with a 64-bit architecture which is a sufficient processor for running the entire OS Android TV ecosystem on here. The ports on the back are very nicely laid out and easy to access. No complaints here. You have your coax jack for Cable/OTA antenna, 4 HDMI ports, a couple of USB ports, a ethernet port, Bluetooth Version 5.2 and it is future proofed at least with the ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) which is already deployed in some big cities but here where im located at, its not available with any local tv station as of yet so im unable to test that. Another big issue I had is when watching a movie, television show or switching inputs, when it shows a black screen, my goodness, you can see the backlight bleed (See picture) in random areas all over the TV. After complimenting the nice sturdy packing, I started thinking, maybe this happened during transit, the carrier happened to be rough with it, im not entirely sure or maybe its just the panel they used. Regardless, its very noticeable in a dark room. The last thing which is a minor gripe is the remote, most manufacturers have done away slowly over the years with the traditional remotes with numbers to punch in channel numbers and opting for dedicated select streaming service buttons, Im not a big fan of that, elderly folks and even the odd ball aged ones like me at 36 years old have grown up with numbered remotes and it just feels so off having to use directional buttons or channel up and down just to get to the tv channel I want which takes more tapping and a little more time instead of just tapping in the channel number and thats it. Also I have seen over the last decade of dedicated streaming buttons becoming obsolete or discontinued on remotes and even some users do not subscribe to any of those services at all which makes them useless, I would like to suggest maybe they just have color coordinated buttons if they must have dedicated streaming buttons and let the user decide which button they want to use with each service. Overall, with my pro's and cons, I believe my pro's outweigh the cons, the cons unfortunately had to knock a star off but overall, I am pleased with this Hisense TV and I can deal with the gripes I have as I have everything working. Just the backlight bleed bothers me a bit from time to time but im sure I will get use to it as I continue to use it as time goes on. Pros: - Again, Huge great TV! - Wonderful build quality - Very bright/vibrant/vivid - Google TV runs smooth as silk on here - The speakers and built in subwoofer is amazing if you want to keep your room a minimal profile without a separate speaker/subwoofer system. - Nicely laid out ports and customizations. Cons: - A lot of backlight bleed unfortunately during black scenes (See attached picture) - I have a DirecTV Stream Set-top Box that worked great with previous brand TV's I have used, however it would not work correctly with the setting of 3840x2160p 60 Hz on my DirecTV box. - I have a Polk Soundbar system that was a big finicky at first configuring with the TV - Setup process never scanned in OTA channels, had to scan for them after setup. - Im old school, I like my remote with numbers, remote comes with basic buttons and dedicated streaming buttons.

Picture is gorgeous, wide viewing angles (note that the 75" is a different screen type than the other sizes of this model), crisp, vibrant colors, really pops. Sound is also quite good, though I hooked it to my soundbar anyway. More than bright enough for a very bright room. Some artifacts in fast moving scenes, though I haven't played with the settings enough to see if I can get rid of them. Was initially disappointed by the performance of the Google TV OS on this hardware, but then discovered the hidden Turbo Mode in the settings, which has made the performance much more snappy. 4K content looks spectacular, I've noticed a bit of choppiness with Youtube TV 4K but think that's the app rather than the system itself (Youtube 4K content and all other 4K is fine). Overall, a fantastic value for the money, don't think you're going to find something better at this size and price point.

The Hisense U8K 75" panel is an excellent IPS-ADS

The 75" version of the Hisense U8K is excellent. The 75" version is different from the 55" and 65" versions, because the 75" version uses a high-quality IPS-ADS panel. Both the 55" and 65" versions use VA panels, just like most other TV sets like this. The problem with VA panels is they have poor viewing angles when you watch them from the side or even from the top down. The 75" version does not experience this problem, because IPS panels have much better viewing angles. In the past, VA panels were known for having better "blacks" than the IPS panels. But, that is not the case with the 75" U8K due to the fact that Mini-LED technology is used to provide the lighting. The Mini-LED technology makes sure there are excellent "blacks," even with this IPS-ADS panel. The "Processing" is also better in this 2023 model than the 2022 model of the TV. When you watch movies or TV shows that have lower bitrates and/or lower resolution, the TV does an excellent job of upconverting the video. The TV sets from Sony, TCL, and Samsung all use those VA panels with poor viewing angles. It is absurd the way the Sony TV sets cost so much more than then Hisense and TCL TV sets. There is an LG TV that is similar with Mini-LED technology and an IPS panel; however, the LG TV is still more expensive. The one problem with the Hisense U8K is that it only has two HDMI inputs with the maximum amount of features. The bad thing is that of these two HDMI inputs, one of them is the eARC HDMI. This essentially limits you to only being able to hook up one advanced game system at a time. So far the one and only manufacturer who has figured out that the eARC channel needs to be on a separate input is TCL. I have read online that it is "possible" for the manufacturers of A/V Receivers to make it so the ARC HDMI inputs can be changed to eARC inputs with a Firmware Update. Unfortunately, even my THX Ultra 2 Onkyo TX-NR5009 A/V Receiver still has only an ARC input. If Onkyo is listening, please fix this with a Firmware Update. I realize this wouldn't make the HDMI 1.4 input compatible with HDR or 120hz gaming; however, a Firmware Update from Onkyo would allow the ARC signal to receive lossless audio signals from the eARC of the Hisense TV. The only way to get a lossless signal from the eARC of a TV set now if your A/V Receiver has only an ARC input is if you buy some form of "Audio Extractor" device for an HDMI signal. The problem is, reviews show these "Audio Extractors" have many glitches and incompatibilities - especially with the PS5. For example, people say the HDMI Audio Extractor may work properly with a game that has a resolution of 1080p on their PS5, but not if the game runs at a resolution of 1440p. Overall, the Hisense U8K is a high-quality TV. I'm glad the 75" version uses the IPS-ADS panel, because it allows people to have a Mini-LED panel with excellent viewing angles. The

After having an unfortunate incident with an OLED screen, and finding out that Total Tech is Total Trash, I went searching for a replacement and the OLEDs were a little beyond the price for a 75” TV. So I jumped on the sale of the 75” Hisense, waited for delivery, and then applied the best settings that Rtings found for the TV. The brightness was so high, that setting it to 26 was the perfect level and the contrast at 38, without any dynamic settings works very well. I compared it to an LG C2 and found that it handled itself fairly well against the OLED. Was the OLED better? Yes, but not to the level that justifies an $800 price difference for the lower end B3 77 inch model. There is one thing I noticed though, the IPS-ADS screen has made some compromises as the viewing angles are not as wide as a regular IPS display, and definitely not up to OLED. So what do you get? You get a best in class TV, that simply our classes any 75 inch or larger screen in the $1500 price range. Fantastic black levels, excellent contrast, vibrant colors, and 2000 nits of peak brightness. You also get a very good gaming experience and near perfect HDR movie viewing. Keep in mind the 75 inch screen is the only version of the U8K with the IPS screen, anything smaller is a VA panel that can’t match the viewing angles of the IPS. Overall, I’m not sure if I’m going to keep this or not, but it is very good set and I haven’t found many things that I would consider an issue. Even more, the only non-OLED TV I could find that was rated as high or higher, was the Sony X93L and that was $1200 more than this set. If I do decide to go with something else, that will only happen if I find a great price on a 77” OLED. Otherwise, I will likely stick with this set as it is really good and anyone on the fence will do well to just buy it.

The 75" is as good or better than the 55" Hisense U8K. As I mentioned in my review of the 55", I chose Hisense because I needed a smaller TV for my bedroom and a larger one in my living room. Samsung, LG, and Sony are focusing more and more on OLED TV's and they are neglecting their LED/LCD lineups. Hisense and TCL have stepped in to fill the void. In addition to Hisense having the sizes I wanted, I believe the Hisense U8K is nearly as good as the TCL QM8. Also to compete with TCL, Hisense is even giving consumers a financial reason with very healthy discounts to the U8K. As I also mentioned compared to my 3 year old LG's, I was blown away by the picture, sound, and brightness quality of the Hisense U8K TV's. They practically have no blooming whatsoever, the color schemes seem to have more pop to them, dark scenes can actually be seen, and the sound and volume from them are quite good. In addition the 75" U8K uses an IPS LCD panel versus the 55" and 65" which use a VA LCD panel. What this means is that viewing experience of the 75" is a little better especially from the sides of the TV. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive TV, concerned about burn in, and want near OLED quality with a decent built in sound system, then I believe the Hisense U8K is your best buy.

Mini led with value in mind. I’m coming from an oled 65” to this 75”. I’ll say one thing it’s a very heavy tv you will need 2 people to pick it up. The picture is bright the colors are almost to vivid, I turned it down some. The blacks are good but not Oled good. The tv is a little to high on my current tv stand and if I sit the top corners start to shadow away. In other words the viewing angles are pretty much dead on. I have no real faults other than the sound is not great. The speakers while higher wattage than others are on the back pointing left and right so the sound stage is terrible. The sound 100% sounds like it’s coming from behind the tv and not at you. You will need a sound bar. I will say I temporarily hooked my Bose sound link to it via Bluetooth and it had no delay in voice. The game mode high refresh rate is nice the UI changes when it detects it.

This tv replaced my 65 inch Hisense U8G, which is an amazing TV that I move to the bedroom. This new 75 inch U8K is an amazing tv. It is super bright and it look amazing for SDR, HDR, Dolby Vision and Gaming. I game on Xbox series x, PS5 and PC. This tv has the new Pentonic 700 chip so it can breeze through Dolby Vision gaming at 120hz and even 144hz on pc. Get this tv and save you some money. By the way the 75 inch has an ADS-Pro panel which has fantastic viewing angles anywhere you sit.

I bought this TV (75U8K) to replace a 4 year old 55in OLED that suffered some screen burn-in. I'm really glad that I got the 75 instead of the 65. It's huge but after having it for a few weeks I will never downsize. Image quality isn't quite up to OLED quality - but it's not far behind. If the source is good the picture will be good. The biggest weakness I've noticed is up-conversion. The images remain a bit softer than OLED but it's nothing that has discouraged my viewing. Color rendering is outstanding. The delivery guys set it up and made a few adjustments and I have to say they nailed it. Dark scenes and shadows are just about the same as OLED (excellent). High motion scenes are perfect. Zero blurring or streaking - without even switching to Sports mode. Off-center viewing is surprisingly good. All things considered, I'd say that this TV competes very well against OLED but at a much better price point. Screen brightness is absolutely stunning. I actually had to back it off from 100% to 75% so that commercials are less blinding. I've never seen a TV produce such a bright image. Truly amazing. I can't speak to sound quality because it was immediately paired to a Hisense soundbar so it sounds fantastic. I have found one weakness. It seems to choke when streaming HULU direct from my ISP (fiberoptic). No matter what settings I adjust it crawls and ultimately errors out. At least 1/3 of the time it simply fails to connect. Once I hooked up the Fire Stick my HULU problems completely vanished. It seems like there's some incompatibility but I can't figure it out. None of the other streaming services are problematic. The remote is the model of "easy to use". They appear to have followed the ROKU formula and made it similarly user friendly. I am very impressed with this TV and I'm really glad I bought it. If you want a great TV without the OLED price tag give this Hisense U8K a try.

Coming from a 10yr old 60” Vizio TV thing looks absolutely stunning. I have only messed with the google operating system a little bit. It reminds me of a Firetv stick with lots of ads and recommendations for a bunch of movies from services I have never heard of. I have this TV connect led to an AppleTV 4k as I prefer this interface. Knowing that as my reference material the picture quality is fantastic. HDR and 4k content look stunning. Even setup in a living room with lots of windows the picture pops. I did notice it has an anti-glare coating but it’s not mat so there is still some glare just not obscene amounts. The sound from the built in speakers are also excellent. I can even hear the deep rumble of the built in subwoofer when the volume is up above 25. As for sports and the like I would say is where the TV kinda falls flat as there is some noticeable motion blur, but it’s something you have to look for and when you do see it it’s that distracting. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and consider this to be a better buy vs anything from Samsung at half the cost.

Was looking for 75" TV to replace dead 65" plasma and saw reviews about the Hisense U8K, which was on sale and took the plunge. First thing I noticed after unpacking the TV was the brightness! Wow! With Google as the operating system everything was pretty easy to load. After the brightness I mentioned, the picture is outstanding! Remote is fairly basic but handles all of the functions, and only wish was for the remote to be backlit. Connected to Soundbar using EARC port and this set rocks, even though the speakers and built in sub already sounded pretty good. Son was impressed with 4K performance and clarity of 4K bluray. Only negative is picture suffers a bit on off-angle viewing. In summary, I remain impressed with the Hisense performance and the set is outstanding performer for the price. No regrets on this purchase. BB delivery was quick and efficient. Happy customer!

This is my first TV over 55" and my first TV where I spent over $1,000. But we moved into a new house and have a theatre room in the basement that reqiured something a bit nicer. So far we are lovong this TV. Have watched hit shows like Fallout, Shogun, Baby Reindeer and everything looks fantastic. Animated movies really pop. The brightness this thing puts out is almost too much at times. The interface is easy to use and moves quick. Ive had no issues with connectivity using wifi. My biggest complaint is the remote, the backlight sucks and only turns on after youve pressed a button. But for that to be my only complaint...i would say thats nothing. My Dad has been in the market for a new Tv and wanted to pick up the Q60 from samsung but after seeing ours, he immediately purchased this one.

An excellent tv! The color is accurate and the brightness is insane. The black reproduction is better than any screen in this price range, blooming is basically nonexistent. This is an extremely difficult feat aside from OLED technology, this tv somehow accomplishes near-OLED blacks without being an OLED. Overall, nearly perfect TV for the price.

This TV is great for the price paid. Great black levels, decent motion handling, upscaling could be better. If you are looking at mini led TVs then this one should be at the top of your list. I got the 75" version and the off angle viewing is stellar. That was an important draw for me. The 75" has a different type of panel (ADS) compared to the other size (VA). This means that the blacks aren't as black, and the off angle is great which is the opposite for the other sizes. This TV gets intensely bright. Especially in a dark room going from a dark scene to a bright one can be blinding. As in you have to avert your eyes because it hurts with how bright it gets. Great for the spectacular highlights! On the downside though, I've already had multiple times where I tried to turn on the TV using the Apple TV remote and the TV power LED just blinks multiple times and nothing happens. I have to go find the factory remote and then press the power button multiple times on that to get it to finally respond. I already had my previous Hisense TV fail on me just outside of the 1 year warranty so I've been burned before by this brand. Perhaps this is a sign of things to come, so alas, the TV will be going back for an LG C3 OLED. For the cost, perhaps others will go for it as it is really a great value. I'd suggest an extended warranty at the very least.

Best mini LED for the price. Amazing sound that you won’t find directly on even the best known brand names. With easy calibration, it is the best contender to the colors of even the best OLEDs…super bright with deep, inky blacks. Up to 144hz refresh rate makes amazing for gaming on the latest consoles or PC. Sorry I can’t think of any cons.

This is by far the best tv I have ever owned. The picture is amazing. 120hz gaming on PS5 is unbelievable. The sound is ok(just get a sound bar). It is so bright we never have a problem seeing it during the day.
