This TV is pretty superb. We upgraded from a TCL 65R625 6 Series and I can definitely tell that it has better colors, blacks, responsiveness and quality overall. I was skeptical at first and thought about our decision to go with this TV for a while considering this model wasn’t anywhere for us to check out in person and it didn’t have the best reviews on YouTube and other online sources, mainly about motion issues. I can tell you though that I have not seen any motion artifacts or ghosting on all content that we’ve watched on this TV. Movies look amazing. Brightness is just right. Android interface is okay, we use Apple TV anyways. For a sale price of $1500, we’re very happy. Wouldn’t pay over 2-3k for it though like it was originally priced. But either way, well done Hisense

I have reviewed this set for about a week now. (I'm coming from a 75Q70R). I knew going in that the motion handling was going to be its Achilles heel. In an art gallery, this tv would be outstanding. However, most of us use our sets to... ya know...watching moving pictures. The blur trail with anything more than 30fps would be unbearable. And that is hard for me to say because I hope that 60fps movies/shows become more main stream. I do not game on this set; I use a monitor to game.
Minimum brightness nearly matches an OLED. I measured it at 0.005 nits. From an LCD, that is simply amazing.
For HDR brightness, I measured:
1%: 1030
2%: 1040
5%:1160
10%: 1030
25%: 970
This set does offer the best of both worlds: near-OLED blacks, and 1000nit capability without the dreaded white pixel, burn in fears, and no ASBL.
Hisense is going down the right path if they want customers. This set offers DTS passthrough/decoding; LG and Samsung dropped it. This set offers both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, it offers arc/earc. The list goes on. This TV is nearly perfect. But the motion handling.
One thing that I noticed as well is that the 20-point white balance has a bug. It doesn't represent a linear relationship. Above 50% grey, the modifiers don't work correctly. The 2-point works great. So I only calibrated with the 2-point unfortunately.
To sum up: if the user only watches 24/30fps content, then this TV is nearly unbeatable for the price. Brighter than OLED, and nearly as dark. Decent accuracy out of the box. Non-DolbyVision content however doesn't accurately follow the EOTF curve. The 60% point was roughly 100nits brighter than intended. See Rtings review of this set. IPS so great viewing angles. Great anti-reflectivity as well. Fantastic grey uniformity as well - I feel like I hit the jackpot.

The TV has very clear and sharp picture. The black level is very great. However, whenever there is fast motion, I can see little delaying in motion. It doesn’t happen very often. So, I can live with it. The audio is very loud and clear. Sometimes, I thought I was using soundbar.

The picture on this set is absolutely stunning. Out of the box, not so much since like every manufacturer, they have all the eco stuff turned on. After turning that off and a few personal adjustments, this picture is the best I've seen thus far. I also have the Hisense 75 H8G and it's not even close. The H8G gets brighter, but that's where the comparison ends. The colors on this set is more vibrant and the contrast in every scene from light to dark is significantly better in every way. It downloaded the latest firmware and have no problems with motion smoothness at all nor any noticeable blooming. The blacks are very dark. The brightness is fine. I'm using theater day mode and my basement has 16 lights in the ceiling and this set still gets bright enough to counter act them. The reflection on this screen is great between the anti reflective screen and brightness, even lights behind it are not seen. Can't be happier with this set especially at this price point. As far as sound, I can not speak for the internal speakers, but using my sound system, it sounds great and supports Atmos.

After adjusting some minor video , HDMI, and audio settings, the picture and audio are great. Works great with Dolby Vision/Atmos through my VUDU app where I usually buy and rent movies as well as Netflix 4K (including vision/atmos) and Disney+ 4K (vision/atmos & IMAX enhanced). Black Levels and White/Brightness are phenomenal. Black especially!
Also as a gamer, all boxes checked for settings on xbox series X settings. Great at 120hz 4K. Atmos sounds great on games that support it. Games that don't support Dolby Vision, but DO HDR, look equally as good. Even games from my regular Xbox 360 look great upscaled.
Hisense contacted to register and help me with some questions about settings: couldnt be more helpful and ALWAYS made sure they got an answer for me.
This TV seems to go on sale to $1,499 (when I picked it up) and I read one time it went down to $1,999 once. Worth it completely at those price points.

I upgraded from a TCL 6 Series 65” to this U9DG 75”. The blacks are as close to oled. The brightness of the tv is amazing for an lcd. Is a little bit on. The heavy side due to the extra panel. Dont nothice motion blur, but i also dont watch sports to much, mainly for Movies, which look amazing. Have had for a couple months now without a single issue. Would definitely recommend this tv, especially if you can get it on sale.

I bought this TV on Cyber Monday and it WAS DELIVERED by Best Buy December 23rd. After getting it started, it immediately told me there was an update; the update installed with no problems.
The set was very dark out of the box. After setting it using the settings recommended on Rtings.com along with some tweaks of my own, it was better.
As far as the motion is concerned, I’ve spent the entire weekend watching football. There have been NO issues with motion. The ball is clear through its flight path. There is no ghosting I can see.
I have to admit that I have no problem setting motion interpolation’s two settings, on this model, to their highest settings. I’m not interested in everything looking like 24 fps film. I want a clean and clear presentation without grain. So, that might be helping the picture look as good as it does when there is fast motion.
I think that TV does show the difference between bad Hi-Def vs. well done good Hi-def. Several productions I’ve noticed have issues with keeping the presentation looking great from scene to scene.
I noticed that Hi-Def is hard to focus correctly. It has a lot of out-of-focus in poor productions.
As for movies and streaming, it looks great!! Better than great. A big plus is my wife no longer complaining about how the picture looks washed-out from her angle any more. So, that is a win.

Picture quality is very good after a little tweaking. Blacks look great, and blooming is very minimal. It has great sound quality and gets very loud. It claims to hit 1000nits, but I seriously doubt it gets that bright. I have the backlight set to 100 and it still feels too dim for my liking. My 2016 LG oled gets much brighter than this tv. I would love this tv if the motion wasn't so bad. Fast moving images are blurry and exhibit ghosting. I've never had an issue with motion on any tv prior to this one. I'm seriously considering returning this tv before my return period expires. Overall this is a good tv (motion issues aside), but I cannot recommend it at the current price of $1,999. I got it on sale for $1,199.

Original MSRP of $2,999 was ridiculous. Glad to see the price go down but sad hisense discontinued this lineup after 1 year. Would have loved to see where they take the dual panel tech. I bought this on sale for $1.2k and at that price point no brainer for a high end 75" TV. As another TV review website points out it's great for movies and tv shows. I have not played console games on this yet since my xbox is usually hooked up to my desktop setup for streaming. But great TV coming from a budget TCL where i couldn't see anything on the TV during dark scenes if i was watching something during the day

This is the best LED TV out there with blacks as pure as OLED black, contrast, color and brightness even better than OLED. The color contrast is easily the best out of any LED I've seen before (basically OLED levels) and is still able to maintain great peak brightness like many of the higher end LED TV.

A sometimes stunning looking picture... other times however, it's no better than my very old 55" Hisense. (Like when you see blooming in bold colors) Not a great thing for a TV in this price range

I WOULD RATE A ZERO IF POSSIBLE!!! DO NOT BUY A HISENSE TELEVISION!!! I truly never leave reviews, I am an actual buyer, and my TV did die at 18 months... just after their 1 year warranty. It was having problems before that they knew about, but didn't care about. It will cost over $1000 to fix and now I have to buy a second TV after 18 months!!! Don't go cheap, new TVs go bad too quick and Hisense lifespans 'can vary' to use their supervisors own words. Mine varied alright... I went to Best Buy and the rep said to stay within their big 3.. Samsung, Sony and LG. I wish I would have learned that before.. PLEASE DON'T BUY!! And good luck...
